"The work turned out to be excellent. The price was attractive. The selection of fabrics for the upholstering and for the furniture in our living room was attractive. The fabric choices were great. There was a thirty percent discount on the fabrics. They were so fast because within twenty four hours they came to my home and picked up the furniture. They brought the fabrics with them. I was satisfied and I didn?t have any problems with them. They were pretty punctual. I would use their services again in the future."

"First of all, I had no idea how much of a difference an excellent professional restoration can make. I was stunned by the results, largely because I had no idea that good wood underneath the decades of damage.
I sent photos of the pieces to the restorer's email address for estimates before going for the deal - he responded right away with reasonable costs so I went ahead. I assumed that he'd be too busy to take the pieces for several weeks, but he came that weekend and said that he'd phone once the pieces were stripped so that I could come down to his shop (near Dulles) to choose stains.
Haridi called a couple of weeks later to tell me that they were ready for my decisions, and that he was very impressed by the quality of the dresser's walnut and workmanship - the dresser that I thought was a piece of junk and was ready to throw away. Again, I was surprised at how soon he had gotten back to me. I went to his workshop and was amazed, they really were beautiful. He showed me several different stains and finishes, and helped me to see what the results would look like - in the end, I just wanted to defer to his judgment. Good decision.
Haridi returned the finished pieces nine days after I visited the shop. Even my husband was impressed. Needless to say, Haridi left with two badly abused deco nightstands and the cabinet that matches the dresser he had just finished - the cabinet was in even worse condition than the dresser, but now I know that in Haridi's hands it can be brought back to life."

"While there was some delay in performing the work, kept me informed fairly well, and the delay was not serious and caused no difficulties for me. The staining took a full work-day and a couple hours into the evening. The result was beautiful: the staining was faithful to the wood grain but also produced an overall appearance that was quite uniformly attractive (which was not easy, since the fireplace is so large). I would definitely use them again, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs fine wood staining."

"He picked up the chairs at my house. Finished the work more-or-less on time and dropped them back at my house. I wasn't happy with the work on one of the chairs. He came out, picked it up, fixed and returned it. Extremely customer service oriented, friendly and reliable even in the face of customer dissatisfaction. Not Cadillac quality work, but I didn't want to spend Georgetown money on quality furniture. Do check the work and ask questions and expect a pleasant and professional experience at a reasonable price point with great pick-up and delivery convenience."

"The personnel were knowledgeable and seemed honest on the phone. They arrived on time and more than filled my expectations; they really understood their craft. They suggested an appropriate sequence of the work, and finished each task early and again surpassed high expectations."

"We contacted the company (via email) and our inquiry was promptly returned with a phone call. My wife arranged a Saturday house call. Bill arrived exactly on time and provided us an estimate and the details of the work to be done. We agreed and he proceeded to fix the table right there in our home. Upon completion he figured the exact price and it came out less than the estimate. We are tremendously satisfied with the service and the quality of work. In fact, after the holidays we will contact Bill for further work on other pieces of furniture."

" was recommended to me by an antiques dealer in Maryland to replace badly worn bottom pieces for a late 18th century armoire. I supplied some specially cut "red oak" planks purchased in . The replacement work was impeccable (and stronger than the original wood). The replacement pieces were perfectly dyed to match the armoire. He also replaced the old wooden pegs used to hold the armoire together since most of them were inevitably damaged when the piece was disassembled. He also dyed these pegs. To accommodate my work schedule, delivered the items in the evening. He stayed until the armoire was perfectly reassembled and in place. In fact, he made several small necessary repairs that had not been part of the original estimate and did not charge us. My wife was so impressed with his work that we asked him to refinish a 6-foot circular table made from South African "yellow wood" that had become scratched, slightly discolored and marred. The repair of the surface scratches and along the base (caused by feet hitting the base) was perfect. His refinishing job was first rate and the new color matched almost perfectly the original chairs. Finally, we asked him to repair gouges in two Bobois nightstands, that had been damaged during a move. Both of these repairs were perfect -- invisible to my eye. is more than willing to share his expertise on proper maintenance, use or repair of antiques and furniture. He spends a good amount of time with a client to make sure you understand exactly what the repair is going to accomplish. He is also willing to schedule a delivery in the evenings or weekends to accommodate your schedule. His prices are not cheap, but given the quality of his work and the prices charged by his competitors, he is quite reasonable. "

"Very, very well! They picked up the chairs (and told me the name of the person coming in advance) and had the chairs back in about 3 weeks. The chairs now feel strong when we sit on them instead of wobbly! They also did a very good job of the chairs. When they first got the chairs they realized the damage was more extensive; 3 generations of children can do that. So there was a small increase in the per chair charge, but they called and told me first. As I had only emailed pictures for an estimate, I was not surprised that more work was necessary."

"The work was done promptly and the table looked absolutely gorgeous afterward. I was very pleased with the result. While the work was not inexpensive, the cost was within the estimated price range and I think was reasonable given the quality of the work performed. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in having work done on furniture they care about. "

"I have been very satisfied with GR&AR. When I called up to schedule the work and indicated that it was a serial repair job (i.e., I didn't plan to have the chairs done all at once), the lady I spoke to suggested that I bring the chairs to them. She added that while GR&AR would be happy to collect the chair(s) at my home if that was more convenient, this way there would be no a pickup/delivery charge. I brought each chair in turn to the Ft. office. Each chair was ready within the time estimate given and the work was excellent."
