Virginia Beach HVAC Contractors Reviews
I highly recommend
forecasted to be in the teens, we lost our heating. After a long
night under the electric blanket, I started my
call early the next morning. Mr.
we arranged for repair at noon that day. I was pleasantly surprised
that within 30 minutes, his serviceman called asking if he
could come by immediately. I consented. He arrived, diagnosed the
problem, and then left to get a replacement electrical component. The
new part was installed and the system was operating in short order.
Total time at the house was less than one hour.
Their response was quick, the serviceman was courteous and efficient, and
the cost of repair was very competitive. Based on this experience, I
am comfortable in recommending
Over the years I have mentioned this variation in temp to different heating/cooling providers. None offered any solutions. In the fall the company with whom I have a maintenance contract suggested "zoning", but I was told by someone else that I need a variable speed heat pump which I don't have. They also suggested replacing the duct work and gave me an estimate on replacing it.
I had a good experience with
The duct work was installed over the course of about a week. Since it was cold, they supplied me with 3 portable heaters to keep the house relatively warm. Immediately the living area was much more comfortable, but two bedrooms where much warmer than the rest of the house.
Shortly after the unit was installed I thought the house was not heating properly. A service tech came out several times and he thought that was the best the unit was going to do. He did make some adjustments. I just thought the fan wasn't blowing hard enough to get the hot air out. I almost felt like I was arguing with him a little bit. On his last visit he put his bag down and blue sealant leaked out onto my flooring in my foyer. The initial thought is they would fix the floor. The unit was still not heating properly so the owner of the company came out and figured out that a part of the duct work collapsed. So this would be an extra cost to fix it. Extra cost that I wasn't expecting. So I was given a choice they would fix the duct work at no charge or they would not fix the floor, or they would charge for the duct work and they would also fix the floor. I didn't see much choice so I opted for them fixing the duct work at no charge. So I still have a big blue patch in my foyer. After that was fixed the heating was much better.
Shortly afterwards, a day or two, I get home to find water dripping onto my carpet from the ceiling in my upstairs bedroom and on the stops. I called
It wasn't too much longer that I noticed the whole unit would turn off and reset then turn back on. Like a computer reboot. They determined the drain pipe was clogged causing it to drain slowly and the switch was turning the unit off and on as it drained. That seemed to solve the problem.
Two years later unit started turning off and on again. It took them awhile to figure out the problem, and they came out several times thinking they had fixed it to only have it happen again. Finally they traced it to a faulty switch. They replaced it, but charged me. The part was still under warranty, but not the labor. But I questioned as to whether this was a problem from day one that was reported. I don't like the way they charged, one half the cost of the part is the labor charge. So I paid over $300 for a part that didn't take them long to replace.
The last issue I had One Hour take care of, but I wonder if this is an installation issue or something
Also the question as to whether I would us them again, I am really undecided. When you don't get the advertised price it makes you not want to go there again.
I gave One Hour a call in the morning after my heat went out the night before. They gave me an appointment that afternoon. They called me when they were on there way and was actually early and waited for me to get home. The service tech was friendly and quick. Discovered the problem and gave me his recommendation. Then was able to fix the problem quickly. At that point I would have rated them 5 stars but...
Their website list the diagnostic fee of $49 and they charged me $69. I questioned this via e-mail (the service tech knew nothing about this). Basically he knew what was on the website and I was wrong. I even sent him a link and cut and paste of that webpage. And his comment was the website has been unchanged for two years and he knows everything that is on the website. No explanation was given as to why the website says $49 and I was charged $69.
One other note. The problem was a frozen drain pipe. I had a question the service tech didn't know the answer to so he tried calling the office and couldn't get through. It seems like it would be a good idea to have a separate telephone line for the service techs to call.
