"The overall job went really well. They did a nice installation better than the last people, who put in the last unit. They had to change the air return to fit the standards. Previously, I had an electronic air filter, and I didn't really think it was doing much of anything. It used to put off some air, which used to bother my wife. I got rid of it, and now I'm just using the standard filters. I didn't get another estimate. I have used them before, and they have put in a unit for me 4-5 years ago. I was happy with what they did then, and they have been servicing our unit. I got a quote from them, and it seemed reasonable for what they have done before. I was able to get the energy because the seer in the unit was high enough to get the energy discount or rebate for the year. I haven't had the cooling season yet; so I don't know how much it will help me save on my electric bill. The whole unit was 12-13 years old. It had problems and needed work, so I decided rather than putting money in the old one that it would be appropriate to go ahead and get a new one, which is more efficient. They did a good job with the installation. I had a problem with the drainpipe, and they fixed that for me. I'm pleased with them. They were very responsive. I called them on Friday, and the fellow came out on Sunday afternoon to talk to me. The young man who came out was very nice and explained the whole process. They did everything they said they were going to do."

"I cannot praise Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
's professionalism and quality of work enough!  We were moving in new tenants and thus had to work around the prior tenants' departure and our new tenants' move in.  Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
worked our needs into his schedule, including very early and late night hours.  He went "above and beyond" by hunting down the exterior colors required by our condo association, even taking a shutter down and into the store to have the paint matched!  We had a mix up over two bedrooms and which color they were supposed to be painted, and Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
quickly, and without complaint, repainted both rooms.  The quality of his work was exceptional, and we and our tenants could not be more pleased with the results!  Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
is a quality professional; do not hesitate to give him your business!

How to get your HOA to approve your house painting project

Before making changes to your home's exterior, contact your HOA to see if your plans fall within allowable guidelines. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Robert O.)

If you live in a community with a homeowners association (HOA), gaining the board's approval before you paint your home's exterior is an essential requirement.

Finding a contractor for lead paint removal

Angie’s List member Steve T. of San Diego hired highly rated Paintgreen to remove lead paint from his garage. He says company owner, John Ray, “was patient and went over and beyond to make sure all work was done to the letter of the law.” (Photo courtesy of Steve T.)

Millions of homes built before 1978 still contain lead paint. EPA guidelines now mandate safe cleaning practices for lead paint removal, but not all contractors follow the rules.

and his experienced crew did a top notch job on all the services listed above. He had the best price of the three estimates we gathered and got the work done on schedule with a rigorous attention to quality. A strong recommendation to anyone needing these kinds of services."

"The gentleman was very nice, when we met with him for the estimate. He required a $300 deposit prior to work, which was June 29. He came out

1 and said he would start at the top and work his way down. He replaced the missing shingles on our roof. He reset 1 of the handrails on our porch. He removed the rotten rail. He did not return on the 2nd or the 3rd of

. A friend of mine contacted him to come back out to finish the work. He returned on the 5th and he finished and replaced the front left rake board. He reset the other handrail on the porch. He said, he replaced the missing shingles on the roof. The H.O.A. inspection said he did not even touch the roof. He was supposed to aluminum wrap the porch pot, but he did not. Instead he he put up wood on the bottom of the post. He did a make-shift wood job to cover his work, but did not do what he was supposed to do. My friend contacted him to finish the remainder of the work. He said he would not complete any additional work. My H.O.A. let me know many others have experienced the same types of trouble.

"I approached him for my condos association and he is one the few others whom we are yet to decide on. However, he is my favorite. He was very polite and very professional. He came back three times and made sure he had everything right with the estimate. He was very thorough and very nice to work with."

"When I called they were very prompt. He then explained to me what needed to be done. He even went out and purchased more paint when they ran out so that they could finish that job that day. I was very impressed. They were very professional. I would certainly recommend them and use them again. "

"The job started off okay with pressure washing, staining and resetting fence posts. There were stains on my concrete patio from the stain that
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
said would come up with water. After washing the stains they did not come up. Also, the day after the job was complete, the fence began sag and would not latch. In addition when I went out to my car the next day it was covered in overspray from the staining. I called
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and after having to call him a number of times he finally came out to redo the gate. He reset the fence post, but reset it out of square. He indicated he would come back and fix as well as wax my vehicle and powerwash the stains. This has been going on for several weeks and no action. In addition, the gate frame itself is now sagging and still not latching. This was a sloppy job and poor responsiveness.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
then became a real jackass about coming back out to fix his mistakes. I now need to hire someone to come fix his mistakes. I'll be filing a claim in small claims court this week for restitution. STAY AWAY!!

"They Started on a Monday and by Thursday it was complete. I shopped other paint companies, but

was referred to me. I would tell anyone to use them as they are excellent."

"I can't say enough about how excellent the service was and what a fantastic job they did. Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
is meticulous and actually repainted a room because an almost unnoticeable dot was on one wall and he was concerned about getting the color to match exactly from another lot. Everything he and his team did was outstanding - they spackled and plastered all imperfections as well as some large holes due to us relocating light fixtures. They were prompt, did an excellent job cleaning up and overall did a phenomenal job - I would recommend them to anyone looking for a class act, top shelf, company."

"Mr.
Virginia Beach Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
answered the first call promptly and set up the work date very quickly. He and his helper worked all day fixing all the projects listed above. They were courteous, gave me good advice when there was a question. The work was excellent, and I'm very pleased with all of it. He identified a problem with a gable vent, and when he couldn't find one in town, helped me find one on-line. My one complaint is that when the new gable vent was delivered, he never returned to install it, although he gave me several tentative dates. Because of that one complaint I would not hire him again. Otherwise, his work was excellent."
