West Bend Plumbers Reviews

"We are getting older and have some health issues. So we wanted a bathroom that would be easier for us to use as we age. We wanted a basement 1/2 bath. Basement bathroom. Started the job August 7, 2013. We needed a functioning bathroom before the upstairs bathroom was remodeled. We also wanted the upstairs toilet moved to the basement and a Comfort Height toilet installed upstairs. The plumbers did a great job on that.

put in an outlet and bare bulb light with a switch. He originally told us he was going to hire an electrician, but did the work himself. We painted the basement floor, rather than install tile and

painted the walls. The door was a problem. Because of the height of the basement,
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
had to cut the door down to fit. He cut everything off from the bottom. That put the door knob at a comfortable height for a child. So he had to replace the door. He stained the door. The basement bathroom is just what we asked for; a functional bathroom.
The kitchen door had been replaced with a metal, fireproof door since it leads into the attached garage. We had the frame all stained and varnished. Due to the metal door frame, the wood trim would not fit flush.
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
added trim under the frame and trimmed the existing baseboards so the frame fit. it looks great.
The upstairs bathroom was one planning error or lapse after another.
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
ripped out the tub and the surround. He insulated where necessary and added extra framing to allow for a safety bar. The new walk-in tub base was ordered, but the wrong one was delivered. The packaging showed the right information, but that was not what was inside. It had to be reordered and would be four weeks for delivery. That was the manufacturers fault, but left us running to the YMCA for showers for a month.

was never here when the plumbers were here working.
When it was delivered the plumbers installed the walk-in base. Then,
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
put up the sheet rock and started to tile the walls. The walk-in base is like a three sided tub. Therefore, it has a 1/2 to 1 inch lip on the top. It wasn't until
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
tiled that part that he realized a standard shower door would not fit. He talked about putting some type of filler behind the standard shower door frame. He finally called the manufacturer and they made a double frame to account for the lip. He had to order that special. So he had to put up an extension rod and shower curtain for the 1-2 weeks it took to get the right frame. Also, the wall at the front of the shower (where the faucet is located) has a 1/2 inch jog in it. The tile sticks out with a rough

on this ridge. It wasn't cut small enough and
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
tried covering it up with grout. There are several tiles on the wall near the vanity that are not flush; a corner sticks out. The floor tile looks good except where it meets the cabinet. There is a 3/4 inch channel of grout used to fill the gap from cabinet to floor tile. Also, the wall tile directly across from the toilet is a defective tile. The ceramic color and finish does not completely cover the tile clay. He claims he didn't notice that. How can you grout, clean, and seal tile and not notice? When I pointed it out, he did not offer to fix it. He told me he must have done approximately 80 tile jobs. He uses his minivan and could not get all the tile at one time. The local store ran out, so he had to run to another store 20 miles away for more tile. Then, he miscalculated the number of bull nose he needed and had to make another trip to the store 20 miles away for that. He used our

blanket in the shower base to protect it. That was good, but it would have been nice if he had asked first.
He started this job in August and did not order the vanity top until the end of October. The vanity/sink is a special order because the left side of the top is longer than the right. The first two came in broken. By then, I would have kept the old one except
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
had used it for scoring and it now had deep scratches in it besides the stains that caused me to want it replaced. He never said a word, but obviously ordered the wrong size vanity top. He must have measured to the old splash guard that sat on top of the sink vanity. So the new sink does not reach the cabinet and he put a filler under the splash guard. I asked him twice, if he was going to leave the filler in the corner and he said no, the splash guard would be cut to fit. Now the sink/vanity does not sit properly on the cabinet. If you are under the sink you can see daylight where the vanity top does not touch the cabinet. This top is not the right size for this cabinet. This job took four months. The shower base was manufacturers error and two broken sinks were the stores fault. But, four months?? Come on! Just poor planning and
lack of work ethics. Lastly, he took down the existing towel racks and never re-installed them. I never mentioned it because we wanted him gone. I would not recommend him to anybody.

did a fantastic job! My home has issues when it comes to working on anything. No problem stymied him.
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
completed the job under the estimated time. It was a clean, professional job. He cleaned up afterward. He didn't leave until he was satisfied that we were satisfied. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to my closest friends ( even my mother-in-law)."

came over 15 minutes after I initially called with my hot water heater problem to take a look at it. Very professional. Looked it over and recommended a new one (new gas valve would have been 2/3rds the price of a new heater and mine was 11 years old). I also had him give me a quote on installing the basement sink. The work was done in a timely manner in a professional way.

After the hot water heater was installed the drain valve was dripping. I contacted
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
about the issue. He came back over the same day and repaired the leak.

"The disposer wasn't working and we weren't using it, figuring that we would have a plumber look at it the next time we called one in for service. The faucet was old and pretty much gave out overnight, leaking everywhere when it was turned on. I called
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
on a Friday morning and although he had appointments scheduled for the afternoon, he had time to come out right away. He was at our house in half an hour and replaced the disposer and the faucet with units that he had on his truck, a

faucet with a lifetime warranty and a Badger 5 Insinkerator. He also replaced the filter screen on the drinking water tap while he was at it. Everything works great.

"Both services went very well.
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
gave us an estimate for the gas line install, and promptly arrived to do the job as scheduled. With the shower leak, he was able to get to our house quickly to stop the leak, then came out the next day to do the actual repair.
West Bend Plumbers Provider Name Locked
is prompt, courteous and professional. He does a great job of explaining what he is doing and cleans the work area when finished."

"We are having Flood Cabinetry Service cut out some cabinets to put in a free standing range. We removed the built-in electric oven and

top. Flood is replacing the cabinets where the oven was removed. There is gas in the basement for the water heater, dryer and furnace.

ran new pipe upstairs to the kitchen for the new

. Then, they took a look at the water softener and Iron Curtain water filter. They were surprised that

's Plumbing did not give us an education on setting the water softener and making sure it ran right. They asked us to keep a chart of when each filter ran. We will have to call them back if we want them to work on it. They arrived on time, were courteous and informative.

the plumber came the very day I called for service. He was informative (I tend to ask a lot of questions) polite and generally very pleasant. He worked quickly and left no mess."

"I requested someone who could do both plumbing and heating so I could avoid 2 service calls. Work was done promptly, neatly, and I think quite inexpensively - $71. 28 for labor."

"They did a satisfactory job. I would use them again. Initially there was a problem but they returned and redid it to my satisfaction without any additional charge."
