"Damage due to foundation movement. Wall moved away from existing wood flooring. Had to remove old baseboard and quarter round and fill gap with new flooring. Gap" was irregular in width so flooring had to be cut to fit.
was on time each day and efficient in his work. Miters were accurate and the job was well done. I definately would use this source again.

"It was truly money well spent - the service was great,
was a true professional. He showed up early - I noticed the car from my window but" he waited until his appointment time which was 7:30am and promptly knocked on the door. He was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I had a long list of about 13 items that I needed to get done and he was able to accomplish 10 out of the 13. Some required more extensive work than he was qualified to do like plumbing and changing a gate. Despite that I still felt like I got my money's worth. I would definitely recommend and would use again if the need arises.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

http://indigochreblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/img_0835.jpg

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

I am not sure a general handyman is the right person for the skylight.  We fix quite a few skylights that were installed by handymen and that could be the problem at its origination.  You will want a roofer for that.

As long as you are splitting the trades at that point, might as well get a flooring contractor to look at the floor once you have figured out the skylight repair/replacement equation.

He was responsive to my request and arrived as scheduled. It was a difficult task with a warped door frame. He meticulously worked his magic to make the new door fit like it was made for it. Works perfectly!

First thing in the morning, he removed grout from the rim of my tub that was badly cracked, yellowing and causing leaks to the basement.
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
said bathrooms are his specialty. I appreciated knowing that he understood the tub I purchased (MAAX brand) was especially sensitive to flexing. He explained that it should never have been grouted. He carefully removed the grout, let the area dry and then came back at the end of the day to finish it off with a clean bead of caulk. The grout removal was done with no scratches to the tub. Even though they would not be seen after caulking, he was very careful and respectful to not damage the tub in any way. I appreciate that.

Having had pretty good luck on a previous (small) job from
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
, I contacted him and he came over on 4/17/15 to look at a more significant job to tear up some bad shingles on a roughly 200 sq ft roof and replace. He did not provide me an on-site estimate but said he'd call back and provide it for me. I called him on 5/18/15 to ask for follow-up; he admitted he had forgotten and would have an estimate for me. Having heard nothing from him, I called back on 6/20/15, where he first continually called me "
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
" (not even close to being my first name), even after reminding him who I was, and admitted once again he had forgotten but had my contact information and THIS time would call back within a day or two. I called him again on 7/10/15, where (once again...) he admitted he had forgotten about me and said he'd get me an estimate, and when I asked him to specify the exact date, he said "next Wednesday. I promise." "Next Wednesday" (7/15/15) came and went with no call back. In the meantime, I got estimates from several other contractors and gave
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
one final call on 7/31/15 to tell him if he could give me an estimate on-the-spot I'd consider him, to which he first replied "a couple of thousand" and when I informed him that was about a third higher than all other estimates from reputable, well-established contractors, he replied it was too hot for him to want to do that work anyway and he really didn't want it.

The one time
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
had done work for me previously, a pretty quick job involving repair of some vinyl siding, he did it at an unbelievably low price and performed the work well, which was why I was willing to make multiple attempts to secure his services this time. His communication and demeanor had never been terribly professional but for a price and quality of work like that, I had been willing to tolerate the lack of professionalism. Unfortunately that came back to bite me this time.

Unless you have a very small job in a comfortable environment and have an otherworldly amount of tolerance for this kind of unprofessionalism, I would heartily recommend you avoid this contractor.

Norm arrived right on time. He had all of the necessary tools and supplies, including the new door frame. He went right to work and was very diligent. He's very conscientious and detail-oriented. Although the thermostat installation involved some complicated rewiring, he figured it all out and installed the thermostat. The tile on my kitchen counters looks amazing, and the door frame looks perfect. He's quite personable and a very trustworthy person. The cost was very fair (less than I was quoted by others) and the work was outstanding. I would highly recommend him. I'll certainly be contacting him for any work I need done in the future!

was incredibly friendly, and his team was very helpful. We had a slight misunderstanding with scheduling the appointment, but in the end,
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
was 30 minutes early. The team member who painted was very careful about covering/changing his shoes in order to avoid tracking tiny spots of paint anywhere.
Because they squeezed me in at the last minute (which rates high on responsiveness!) they didn't quite have time to do a full cleanup, but I was able to do that quickly. I also touched up just a bit of the paint, but the service was still quite good.

was very professional. He was right on time (even called to say he would be 10 mins late), and took care to respect the property (e.g., with boot covers). He gave ideas about cheaper ways to make some the repairs we wanted, and he was very understanding when we discussed the possible timing of repairs. There was no pressure from him, and I will definitely call them in the future.

We purchased a new

toilet (Delta toilet came with a wax ring & seat), 20" supply line needed for a taller toilet, and tube of sealant from Home Depot. We contacted
Stevens Point Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and he had an opening in a couple of days away to do the job. He arrived on time, was very professional and polite around my older parents. He got the job done in about 1.5 hours with clean up. We were very happy with his work and would not hesitate to call on his services in the future.
