"From the start,
was wonderful to work with. His responsiveness to calls and emails was excellent. He came to our home to help us figure" out some layout issues and the quantity we would need. After he made the template, we met at the granite warehouse in Seattle and laid it out on the actual slab which was very helpful. We were able to use only 1 slab because he had a remnant at his shop of the same type and finished the one small piece we were missing with that. This saved us big buck by not having to buy an additional slab. He was able to install it 3 days later so our kitchen remodel was barely delayed! He came back to do a little extra polishing at the seam and it is gorgeous! Thanks,
!!

"Nightmare. Initial warnings We hired
on our contractor's recommendation. They wanted payment up front and wanted me to email them" my credit card number to get started. Like a fool I did this on the trust of my prime contractor. Missed and late appointments To summarize a long story about appointments, their installers eventually came three times to our house. They at least had three missed appointments, and when they did come two of the three times, they showed up late after dinner. One time staying until 9 PM and the other time staying until 10 PM the night before Christmas eve when we had to leave at 4 AM the next day for the holidays. Poor workmanship with used product When they came the first time they were supposed to bring new engineered stone, but instead they bought stone already cut and bull nosed for someone else- and I presumed rejected. At 9 PM at night they were cutting stone in our Cul-de-sac and rushing to get completed. They had at least two missed measurements and cobbled a result together. Corners where uneven, gaps in seems, chips in the middle of the stone etc. To fill the gaps, they used tan filler in the dark grey stone. I rejected this and then they filled it with black goo which was not much better. At the end of the first night they drove off leaving larger stone pieces in our street (two foot by three foot) and quite the mess. What I missed at the time was that they also oiled the stone. The next day I woke up to stone that had streaks in it like it was polished with 220 grit sandpaper (later I found this was the case) Follow-up I then followed up with the guy by the name of "M" who originally sold me the stone. While my family and I were on vacation, he came to my house while the contractor was here to check on the mess. Instead of being productive, he took pictures inside my house without my permission that showed soft sand less grout on the stone where my contractors were working - what he then tried to do is blame the result of the installation on my contractor which was outrageous. Not a good way to get my contractor to refer more business either. I then tried to call "M" to set a follow-up appoint to fix the situation. I later learned that he was transferred to the San
store and that "P" was brought on board to improve things. "P" sent the installers out again, missing their time window, but arriving on the right day at 7 PM on a Sunday. Three guys came with 220 grit sandpaper and after working on it for a while, it looked like it had been worked on with 220 grit sandpaper so they left. Follow-up again Unlike "M", "P" was responsive, but went off on long philosophical discussions. At the end of the day, he could only send out their installers for a third time. In the meanwhile, my contractor felt bad, bought filler and the right equipment and tried to work on it himself. To no avail though, this engineered stone takes skill to work with. On the third visit the installers came out again (on time!) with the right set of polisher disks (but still the wrong equipment). They improved things by about 50% - the stone at first glance looks OK, but something that you'd buy at a scratch and
sale. They tried to wax it and left dried wax streaks everywhere. Sadly, and out of frustration, I then went and got my car wax to wax out the streaks and make it shiny. At this point I capitulated. My wife wanted to go after them, but there are more important things to do in life. Since "P" was such a philosophical guy I told him to give us whatever money back he thinks is appropriate and the right thing to do. I never heard back.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

?

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

replaced a counter top for us and thus far we've been very pleased with the look and quality of the granite. They were easy to work with in picking out the granite. I had bought the sink bowl and faucet myself and left it with them to mount the sink and cut the faucet holes afterwards.
It seems as if the business is run with less than a handful of people so there is some waiting involved with contact sometimes. The cost was significantly better than another company I had quote the same countertop in granite. In the end I was very pleased with the quality of the granite, the installation, and the interaction with the folks who work there. I will definitely use them if I decide to have more granite installed in my house.

I contacted
Racine Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
to fix a relatively easy leak around the sink in the kitchen. His workpeople were very polite and did the job in a very professional manner, coming at the time they specified. Having spoken to

Racine Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
recommended some people to do the various other work , plumbing , glass works etc. All of the people did their work as specified and they worked well together doing a very difficult job in total coordination, so that no time was wasted.
Racine Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was in charge of coordinating this. All of this work was done within the six weeks he specified. Already satisfied with the work we took him on to redo our kitchen totally , including the dining , sitting and living area. Because of the dust we knew this would involve we asked that they complete the work in three weeks, while we go away for a holiday . This was done with an interior designer and upon our return , we had a completely new section of the home. Our last work with
Racine Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was to ask him to recommend a suitable tile for our pool area , as it was painted before and looked shabbily dirty from the rainfall coming through the screen at all times. I have nothing but the best regards for Mr.
