Business Description: C. Thomas Woodworks is operated solely by Christopher Thomas and does not use subcontractors. He has over 40 years of woodworking experience. From an early age, he was exposed to core woodworking techniques by his father, while his mother fostered his interest in drawing. Christopher's uncompromising precision in layout and construction can be largely attributed to lessons learned from his uncle, who built torpedo guidance systems during World War II and later, large scale telescopes. In addition, he apprenticed under a Danish master cabinetmaker in the Boston area who specialized in building custom pieces of furniture and restoration of antiques. His knowledge base has been further supplemented through carpentry—from rough framing to finish woodwork—as well as years spent building scale models of structures ranging from drilling platforms to housing developments. Since 1998, he has operated C. Thomas Woodworks in Walker's Point, where he continues to offer his expertise in fine woodworking and furniture repair.
