"It went great. He called ahead of time, arrived when he said he would, and knocked out the work like a true professional. He even made recommendations on other security" measures, not necessarily in purview, that we could also make.

-Ernest B.

was very easy to work with when he re-keyed the locks on my duplex. He was friendly, flexible and did good, quick work. He also went above" and beyond on a return visit, where he stopped by to talk through options for replacing the lock on our shed, after having traded pictures and ideas via text message. He was willing to help me figure it out even if it was complicated, and said at one point that it was his responsibility to make sure it got done. Once we discovered that the shed company could do the replacement, I offered him his trip fee, but he refused. So helpful and generous with his time!

In addition to the roughly $100-200 for the lockset itself, I would expect from $50-100 range (depending on your local labor costs) by a locksmith, ASSUMING you get a lockset that uses the existing door and frame lockset holes - should only take about 15-30 minutes in that case. Could run into maybe $100 more for a carpenter or the locksmith to fill and glue the existing holes and then drill new ones if lock does not fit the existing (probably "standard" hole spacing and setback - or maybe $200-300 more for carpenter to put in entirely new striker side trim and paint to match if you don't like the looks of the filled holes.
I understand your concern - but locksmiths are criminal record vetted and bonded pretty well, so not a major risk there. Unless you bought the deadbolt and entry lockset as a boxed set - both keyed the same - it would be normal for him to rekey so they use the same key. People do not want to have to fumble with two different keys to get in, so he probably just did not think to ask if you wanted them the same. Is it also possible he was keying to match a back or garage door lock too so all your entry doors use the same key ? A large portion of their work is rekeying locks after change of tenants or owners, or changing out a worn out lockset, so that would be second nature to him to do it - I don't personally think you have a high risk from this, unless perhaps you live in a very upscale house and had a lot of valuables laying around that he could see while working. If that $66 million Van Gogh painting you bought yesterday was leaning against the entry wall waiting to be hung, then I might be a bit concerned - otherwise not.

The provider was very accommodating. I had to reschedule and he was very kind about it. He was very professional and nice completed his work quickly. All the locks work fine and he even helped adjust one of the locks that was very hard to open. I am very pleased with the service I received.
- Lisa C.

I called him and he came out that. day. He know exactly what the door lock was and the involvement in removing it. He installed a new handset bought at Home Depot. He was quick and professionally.
- Lorna J.

I locked my keys in the house so I ended up being locked out of my car and house. My neighbor called someone local who drilled the lock and got me inside. However, he couldn't fix the lock so my house would have been opened and unprotected all night.
Edgerton Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was recommended to me and I am glad it was. I told him the story and he had someone come out immediately. The tech,
Edgerton Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
worked hours to try and find a lock that would work to replace the old lock. The door had mirrors on one side so the normal size lock wouldn't work plus it was a very old lock. But
Edgerton Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was very kind and wouldn't give up. He worked hard to figure out what type of lock I needed for the door and stayed past his time to make sure the new lock worked and we were protected. This is true kindness and dedication. Thank you

Edgerton Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was a pleasure to deal with. Polite and friendly from the first phone call to the onsite visit.
Edgerton Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was punctual and very knowledgeable. He gladly answered all our questions, even those of my daughter. He was respectful and very thorough. He even vacuumed the work area, near the door, clean afterwards. He made sure the electronic keypad was set at the proper code I requested and showed me how to change the code in the future if I needed to. In addition, he checked that all my keys and locks worked perfectly before he left.

I called a few other locksmiths, even some of the other highly rated ones in my area. Their prices were lower than the other quotes.

I would highly recommend

for any lock related matter. They will be the only locksmiths that I use.
