was great and I would highly recommend him! He returned my call one day - and we scheduled the work for the very next day. He arrived on" time, gave me a quote and started work. I was the most impressed with the quality of his work in making a new wooden window sill to replace the old one - it fits great and looks great. If you need carpentry work -
is definitely your guy!

Finish carpenters can design, build and install woodwork structures in your house to enhance the quality and adorn the attractive appearance of your home. There carpenters can complete several different jobs for new homes or remodeling of an existing house.

Baseboards and molding

Baseboards and molding serve a practical function -- covering up the space where walls and floors join, as well as protecting the wall from scuffs and dents. But they also provide a decorating opportunity.

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

Woodworking reviews in Chilton

Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
didn't show or call saying he couldn't make it! I called on August 20 and he said his first appointment would be September 1st. Since he had such good reviews here on Angie's List, we decided to put our kitchen remodel off for a few weeks until we could meet with him.
He didn't show for our meeting in which my wife and I had rearranged our work schedules to make happen. We also have two babies under the age of 1 and arranging for their care for the meeting is no small feat.
I called 30 minutes after our planned appointment time and he seemed truly sorry, that he should have called to tell us he couldn't make it. He wanted another

--but we can't

him tearing our kitchen apart and then not showing back up.
I'm sure he does great work--wish we could have had the

was very responsive and easy to contact with questions or concerns. He and his crew were on time and showed up when they said they would. The work was done well by
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and all of the sub contractors. All the debris was cleaned up at the end of the work day. The bathroom came out just as I planned and looks great! I would definitely use

and his crew again when I am ready for more updates in my home

Oasis did an outstanding job on the exterior of our house. Rotted wood was replaced in several areas of our cedar siding and mostly all trim areas of our home.

(the estimator) was great, our foreman
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable and walk us around showing the areas that needed work after the sanding. We felt confident that our home was in good hands and watched the process of them sanding and painting our our house.

Everyone was very professional and courteous, the work was reasonably priced within our budget, which was important. Would definitely call them for the interior of our house and would highly recommend this company.

Ok at the request of the Angies list Agents I am giving my story up to date. On
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
27th I read and decided to go with
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
. I sent the request to
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
. He message me back that Norm was gonna contact me to arrange a estimate. When norm came a few days later he walked around and even noticed a area that we missed. He gave us a quote of $375.00. Norm was a very nice guy and he was telling us how he was a Cancer survivor,he seemed to really know what he was talking about. We told him we get back to him, After a few other came we decided to go with Versatile and called up Norm. He came over and wrote up a work order, He handed me his card and said him and his partner were a little busy but he would do the Job the following week. That is my fault I assumed that since I contacted
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his name was on the card that Norm gave me I assumed that this was a partnership. I should have asked. Well the first date came and went no call and I called Norm he gave the I sorry and we are just so busy and i accepted that thinking they did not cash my check so might me a legit reason. Second date came and went again? I called once and left a message and nothing I called again and and said to please call me back I want him to drop off my check and I don't feel he has the time to do this job. Well he call back and was very apologetic and told me he was sick and went to the Hospital for a day. I figure he seemed to be sincere. He told me that he will be doing my on Friday the 21 of August. Well that morning came he was not there in the morning so I was upset and figured I will call he Partner and left a message. Shortly after that Norm called me and said the he just got chewed out by his Boss? And that he told me he would be here at 9am? I cant argue that I almost certain but I can be wrong also. So he gets here and I come to see his Partner is his wife? This was a unexpected News Flash. I was not happy but in a situation I did not want to be mean or rude they were such nice people. He set up and has to leave to go get supplies? well a few hours later they get back to start work, While he was working I was noticing he was different he was twitchy and a little stuttering and looking very
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and sweating buckets? He was up on the roof and his wife was talking to me saying how concerned she was that he was working so soon after his stroke? Big news to me!!! Then he was telling me him self yes a few days ago he had a stoke and was going on to tell me about how the Doctors messed up and he had a stroke and how lucky he was to be alive? I am scared to death this guy is gonna fall off my roof! So needless to say I stood out there watching him and good thing I did he almost fell twice if i was not there behind him he would have went down. Even more scared as I am listening to them telling me how the Doctors messed up and they are waiting to contact a lawyer. I just thinking to my self please make it through the day! There was a spot on one of the
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
boards were the rot was more spread then we thought we agreed to just scrape the surface and he put a dab of caulk on it but it would cost more to fix and cause more damage. So we left it as agreed. I did make a mental note when they came back from getting the supplies of what was purchased 1 cedar board 3 sofit vent panels and 1 channel for the vents. I noticed the board was not the same thickness of the one that was on the house. He tried to get it as close as he could but in some areas it was very noticeable that it was not. At one point on the corner
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
he was tring to trim the thickness with a chop saw? I was scared to death the wood took flight into the wall a few times I was scared he was going to cut off his hand but thank god his wife told him to stop! At the end of the day I notice that he had 2 full sheets of sofit vents? I was concerned about that. At this point I just want him out of here I did not want to be rude he was struggling as it was. I called his boss that I now know of and told him what has happened. He was nice came but with another guy and well to be honest the just calked the joint and realistically I could not expect more it would mean making a bigger job to replace the wood. Atleast the vent look good! Right ! So Wrong later in the week we get a heavy rain and our squirrel comes back and just runs up the roof and pushed the vents open with ease? Both spots were where he fixed. Turns out why there was so much left overs he reused and and did not screw in proper so it was pretty much held in with friction. I called
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and he tells me that I need to have a sit down with Norm and that is the only way to solve this. I am not thrilled with this at all. The man is a nice guy and all I sure he knows what he is doing. but what should I be the one to tell him he should not be working ? I really feel uncomfortable with this and hate to be mean to anyone. But at the same time i want this fixed? I am hoping it goes well. I spoke to the people at Angies List they told me to give the members a update on what is happening and to post the pictures of the job. I am not giving a grade yet til I see how the out come goes. But Please be advise if you use this company Think twice about it if you get Norm. He is a great Guy but too ill to be working. Wish me luck !!

Working with
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was definitely a learning experience. I was on a tight time schedule for this project, and it was in Columbus which is not my city of residence. I searched for carpenters on Angie's List and called 3.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was one that responded and gave me a ballpark price to do the job. He said he would bill me for time and materials as the project progressed on a weekly basis. This seemed reasonable to me. I wanted to
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
the project with Columbus' permit office.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
up a stick drawing for the permit process, but neglected to include that one of the walls being moved was load bearing. I did not catch this omission.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
had one rate for himself as carpenter and another, much lower rate, for laborers. His labor guys showed up and did a great job on the demolition part of the job.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
communicated with them mostly by phone, showing up infrequently. Week #1's bill was for $2500+ which included a lot of carpenter's hours. When I questioned this
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
said that one of the demolition guys was also a carpenter. The need to keep the project moving at a quick pace kept me from disputing the charge, which in hindsight was an error on my part. The 2nd week's bill was $1300+ and again had quite a few carpenter hours. By this point, the job had failed the first inspection from City of Columbus.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
did go to the permit office and amended the drawing to include the load bearing wall removal. The personnel at the office were helpful in pointing out what was needed as a header and the need to transfer the load to the foundation. I don't think
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
or his "carpenter" understood what was needed to pass inspection. A couple of days before the 2nd inspection was scheduled to occur,
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
texted me and said he was quitting my job because of non-payment. This was related to a $50 charge that he had included on the 2nd week's bill for driving back to my house to hang up the permit that he had removed to go to the permit office for the amended drawing. When I was surprised he was charging me to return something that should have never left the property to begin with, he said all right, drop the $50 from the bill. Then came the text regarding my non-payment and that he was quitting the job. I was able to get a much more able carpenter to fix the problems left by
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
which cost an additional $1500+. The lesson learned through this experience was an expensive one.

They did a great job. We were on a tight deadline as we were getting ready to move in, and they had the basement ready for our move in day, with the exception of a few small details that were completed later.
Chilton Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was also good about taking on extra small projects that came up along the way that were not part of the original estimate and getting them done in a timely manner. Our basement looks amazing and we get many complements on it!
- Kristina G.

He didn’t have the right type of equipment for the job, due to having his tools stolen. They had to hand cut everything too and I paid extra.
