Siding Reviews in Vancouver

was our primary contact as he came out to for windows and siding in May 2014. We actually contacted him six months earlier but we were not yet ready for major exterior replacement for a 1994, 3-bed ranch house. After looking over two other vendors, we selected
to perform the work.
returned to determine if any wood rot repair was needed due to our climate here in the Pacfic Northwest. He found two areas near the windows of the master bedroom and Kitchen window. Sad to say, the workmanship on the initial construction was lacking and caused the water damage. The damage was limited to those two areas and added $750.00 for wood rot repair which is not a lot (compared to what we are spending already) which gave us piece of mind.
These were the terms:
Siding payment terms: 10% down payment, 75 % is due up on siding and trim completion, and 15% is due up on
painting completion.
Roof payment terms: 10% down payment and 90% is due upon roof completion.
Windows payment terms: 20% down payment, 80 % is due up on windows and sliding door completion.
These were the major materials used:
Roofing: Pabco architectural 30 year manufacturer warranty roof shingles.
Windows: Milgard Styleline window manufacturer lifetime warranty
30 year manufacturer materials warranty
Exterior Paint:
lifetime warranty for Resilience paint products

Work was scheduled with the roof, windows, siding and painting done in that order. They did request that the garage be kept open so that they can get to the circuit breaker. They also request we keep one side of the 2-car garage driveway open so they can park the Garage trailer close to the house to drop the old roofing materials.
and his crew of three came by the next week at around 8AM on MAY 21 and had managed the offloading of the roofing, windows, and some siding materials to include a Portapotty from a vendor.
It took 4 days for the roof to be completed. They also cleaned up the gutters both inside and outside, and fixed some deteriorating joints.
While waiting for better weather to complete the roof,
started masking and covering inside the house, areas where the windows were to be replaced. We needed to keep about 18" clear around the windows so they could put down blue tape and plastic sheeting to keep the dust and mess down. Near the kitchen window, he had less space to work with but was able to put in the plastic sheeting with minimal problems.
found that the original windows were too deep as they were putting in Migard windows,
he had to get inserts that were the same color as the windows. The inserts were about 1/4 inch around. The windows took about 4 days to complete.
About the same time as the windows and prior to the siding being placed, they took care of the wood rot.
Took another week and a half to complete the siding. They also replaced some wood fence pickets.
, we discovered the wonderful ways the original builders cut corners. Door hinge screw half the length, one side of the garage studs were 1x4 while the other was 1x3, Trim was not primed for painting. Generally, shabby work. Who is to check work quality when it is all and done and cannot be rightly seen unless you take it apart?
Painting was finally done on week 4 and were very happy with the results and very happy we went with
. The entire process was pretty much smooth with constant communication between us,
, and
On a final note, you should receive a registered letter from a vendor who
ordered the materials from. It is a Construction
which when the party is satisfied, you should be getting another letter that the
has been closed. You should be also getting the warranties for the siding and windows from
In conclusion, we heartily recommend

and everyone else at
were great! We had other contractors tell us the whole house needed to be done but
told us that a lot of our siding was still in good shape so we only needed to have 1/2 of the house re-sided.
The crew that came out was efficient and quick. They cleaned up after themselves and answered all of our questions as we went along. The whole experience was good.

Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
made an appointment for an estimate, was prompt and sent an estimate. I tried twice to schedule a time to start the job, he never followed through with a start time or contact. I still have not heard from
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
or his company.

Never followed through with estimated which was never received. Waited over 2 weeks so I just stop calling them to for an estimate. The estimator was late 40 mins. Just bad customer service.

Initial contact: I had three quotes,
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was by far the most professional and detailed in his explanation of the process.
During the installation the crew was positive, very responsive and polite. I missed them when they were gone!
Bill is a delight to work with. He and his team go above and beyond. I will definately have them do my siding when the time comes.
Thanks so much guys!

I can't say enough about how wonderful
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was to work with. He knows his stuff when it comes to siding. I was very confident in him doing the siding properly and not cutting corners. The bid was actually on the lower end of the estimates I received, The finished product is immaculate and still looks wonderful two years later.
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
really went above and beyond my expectations. I would hire him again if I needed this work done again.

ll How it went: The young man who came the first day (
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
) did a great job on the trim work. He also painted the car port the next day. We had nice weather the first couple of days and then it started to rain.
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
moved his crew to another job while it rained, but that ended up taking longer and
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was not available for a couple of weeks. The man
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
sent to do some of the work didn't understand the details of the work and the arbor was painted with paint and not stain as I had instructed.
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he told the man that it was to be stained, but left both the stain and paint out and the man used the wrong one. This changed the whole look of the arbor and there was no way to remove the paint in an economical way and then stain it. I was very unhappy about this mistake. It basically ruined the look of the arbor, in my opinion. This man also installed the metal bands around the hot water heater. I came out to the garage as he was starting and asked him how he was going to do the job as the hot water heater is located tightly between a row of cabinet and the gas furnace. His explanation was garbled and so I suggested he move the cabinet closest to the hot water heater so he would have easy access to the brick wall. He started arguing with me, so I moved the cabinet myself to show him what I meant. There was plenty of room for him to secure the heater to the brick wall at that point so he did what I asked him to do, but he wasn't very happy.

came back and worked on the shed and that went well. He also did the stair rails and cleaned out the window wells and washed those windows. There was one piece of trim that
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
missed, it is located at the bottom of French doors we have coming out of our dining room. I showed it to

and was told that
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
would come back and take care of it. No one has come back to do that last piece of trim. When I settled the bill with
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
I told him I was very unhappy about the paint on the arbor and asked for a reduction in the bill. He agreed with reservations, but I felt I had been very clear in my instructions, I had purchased the 2 colors of stain and had walked
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
through what needed to be done to get the arbor looking like it had when I purchased it. The appearance is no longer the same. I am disappointed the trim has not been taken care of as agreed, I was disappointed that the other job took
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
away from my job and that the work the other man did was not up to a good standard, I don't like having people argue with me about work I have asked to be done and am paying for. As far as I am concerned, the end result was mixed. Will I use this company again, probably not. I liked
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, he is a very good and competent worker. I am not sure I can say I liked

I was very impressed by the professionalism of the company's sales representative,
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, as well as the job foreman and the crew. The installation and painting of the siding was completed in a timely manner, the crew was courteous and answered any questions I had to my satisfaction, and upon completion of the work the crew took great care in cleaning up any leftover debris.
It has been three years since this work was done and the siding still looks fresh and new, adding to the
Vancouver Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
appeal of my property. I would not hesitate to use StraightLine Siding and Construction in the future.
