Fireplace Installation And Maintenance reviews in Vancouver

I called NW Gas Fireplaces because our 25 year old house built-in gas fireplace hadn't worked for a year, and I wanted to fix it or buy a new one. Making the appointment was easy,

came promptly to give us an estimate in writing. We scheduled the work and he arrived promptly with everything he needed to do the job. He worked steadily and called us in to show us the completed work.

I was amazed at how much better it looked, and even happier when it ignited at first push of the button. I have had three other companies over the last three years to try and fix it.

diagnosed it correctly, bought the appropriate part, disassembled it, and rebuilt it to perfect working order. We are so glad to have our gas fireplace back. We use it for an hour in the morning to take the chill off the kitchen/family room area. It saves us lots of heating costs. We are very pleased w/ NW Gas Fireplace

Our gas fireplace had been having issues--the gas log wouldn't light consistantly and the fan was extremely loud. I contacted NW Gas Fireplace mentioning the issues we were having and asking about cost and availability.
Vancouver Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
responded quickly letting me know that probably our fireplace probably just needed a maintenance and cleaning and the cost. We set the appointnment, about a week and a half after--I named the date based on my availability.

the tech arrived right on time, which was refreshing. I can't begin to tell you how many contractors of all different types of trades over the years have arrived late, so I was so impressed that this wasn't the case with NW Gas Fireplace.
He quickly determined our issues--yes the fireplace needed a cleaning, desperately--and the fan was noisy because when it was installed the installer had put it in backwards. The backwards fan meant that when turned on it was blowing cold air. Also because of the error installation, the motor for the fan had been damaged and we needed a new one. He was able to give us three options for new fans all of which he had with him. He replaced the fan and was out the door quickly and efficiently.
As a side note, we had just brought home a new puppy just a few days before our appointment with NW Gas Fireplace.

was unflappable when our puppy began to whine and cry at being unhappy about being put in her pen.

We are very happy with their service. I didn't rate pricing above only because we didn't actually get estimates from other providers so we don't know if what we paid was within "

Visit one - called for a tune up and to light the fireplace. He told us it did not need a tune up, lit it and left. $92
Visit two - Called him to light the fireplace, put a new igniter in and fix the noisy fan.
He lit the fireplace, said he could change the igniter but they last forever, and wasn't needed. Said it was just hard to light. Said to hit the top of the fireplace when the fan was noisy. Collected $92 and left. Had to unplug fan the next day as it wouldn't turn off and was noisy.

Great service and price. It was easy to schedule and you spoke with one person. I can't recall the gentlemans name, but he was on on time and pleasant. Fixed my old switched and it looks brand new! Explained what had been done and next service needed. He also came out and fixed my sisters fireplace as well. Highly recommend. !

Originally called him on short notice - that day - to move a gas line that needed to be relocated for a new deck. Asked him - same day - about changing out our old gas heatilator with a new, highly efficient, gas insert. Others had said could not be done. He said otherwise, and referred me to our new neighbor where he had done something similar. She highly recommended him.
Bottom line: He came on time, did a fabulous job, cleaned up well, and finished in one day .
We postponed an earlier install because he pointed out that by doing we could take advantage of some rebates.
We highly recommend him..

I had a big concrete patio that I wanted to cover with slate tile. Sergey came out and gave me an estimate, he even met me at a tile store to help me pick out the perfect slate for my patio. His professional work went beyond my expectations, he was always on time and his attention to detail was immaculate. Project went all as planned and was finished on time as promised.
I would defently

This was my first time working with this company, it was a good experience, and the job was an easy fix. The remote control on our gas fireplace was not working, so -horror of horrors- we had to actually get up and go over to the fireplace to turn it on and off;-)
When I called to ask for service, I explained the issue and the

explained that their service appointments were running about 2 weeks out...yikes! Well, it's the beginning of the heating season, and it was not anywhere near an emergency, so I set up an appointment.

showed up 5-10 minutes early, and was very professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem-said the receiver on the remote had gone bad- and he went to see if he had a new one in his van. He did (yay). He installed that, I paid him and the remote now works like a charm.
I thought about giving a B for price because $89.00 for a half hour service call...ouch. But I decided against it because I know 1/2 hour on my end doesn't take into consideration any of their operating costs.

We had a problem with rain leaking into a commercial building we own. There had been a new roof installed recently, and we knew we needed a chimney cap for it, but also were concerned the roof installation could be part of the problem. He investigated, and said the roof installation looked good, that the chimney cap should address the problem. We don't use that chimney, so we didn't request a full inspection of it. He only charged us for the cap, not for the inspection, even though he had to take two trips to the site.
We then asked for an inspection of the two fireplaces at our home, only one which we use. We knew there would be a charge for this service. But when we asked for caps for both of these fireplaces, he eliminated the inspection fees. He said both our chimneys looked good, but advised what needed to be cleaned (from birds that had been inhabiting it years ago) before using the second chimney. He did not suggest any cleaning or repairs that would have cost us more at this time.
I have heard of chimney inspectors who offer free inspections and then charge for cleaning and repairs that they say are necessary. This is partly why I was more comfortable going with a company that charges for its inspection time, so that the company isn't tempted to make its money fraudulently. Not only did the company do a fine job in every aspect (including the scheduling, etc.) but the fee I was expected to pay was eliminated unexpectedly at the time of billing. He also removed our antennae and a couple miscellaneous items he found on our roof, for no extra charge, but came down to ask me first if I wanted that done.
They were very easy and pleasant to work with, from start to finish.

His name is
Vancouver Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he is a certified service technician. The last time he was here he told me that everything was so good that I probably wouldn't need him to come back for two years. There are not very many people that will do that. He was very courteous and on time. He was very professional and didn't leave a mess.

They arrived on time and were able to fix the problem immediately. They discovered that the chimney cap had rusted and was not allowing the chimney to draft correctly. They built a fire in the fireplace and waited to make sure that it worked before they left. I would certainly use them again, and plan to use them the next time I need the chimney cleaned.
