The original bid for the rear section of flat fence was $1,600+.
The correct height of said rear fence was overlooked and was assumed to be 6' but once I had the old fence removed, I realized that it would take an 8' fence to do a like-for-like. It doubled the original bid to a little over $3,300 because now we needed more material (wood and cement mix) and larger diameter steel posts.
I needed to meet with
a couple of times on-site after the original bid and before the fence was build. Once because locates weren't done properly and the other time was when I discovered I needed the 8' fence in the rear and also to inspect the area because it included a 24" high retaining wall that was deteriorating in one area. All systems were a go and the fence could now be scheduled for building.
During those two meetings I also asked
to help me stop the erosion between the fence and sidewalk on the west side of the house. I did not want it overlooked and both times I brought it up I also said I'd pay whatever extra it would cost me to have it taken care of.
ended up putting 4-8' 2x6's on my side of the posts and cut the fence boards shorter on my side above the 2x6's. It worked great and looks nice.
After the fence was completed I did a thorough inspection and realized that the rear fence was rising at the top of the boards from west to east about 6". There was a huge 6" gap at the bottom of the east end of the fence. My solution was to place a treated 2x6 at the bottom of each of the 10 sections of rear fence. I had to find the proper 2-3/8" brackets at Home Depot that would fit the posts and hold the boards. It was a gap any animal could have easily negotiated, especially my rear neighbor's small dog. I'm trying to keep the possums and raccoons out of my back yard as well.
I have since also treated the fence with a sealer. It looks nice except for the boards at the bottom of my side of the fence. It doesn't look like they belong. It looks funny and bugs me that the fence was built in such a manner that I was forced to take measures like this for my new "dream fence" that my wife and I had been looking forward to for quite some time.
I'm having trouble writing this review.
is a really nice person and I like the way he does business. I'm just disappointed my fence wasn't built properly. That's the way I see it.
I did meet with
to discuss this issue and it started to turn into a p****** match when I talked about the cost of the boards and brackets for the 2x6's. He responded that he didn't charge me for the lumber he used next to my sidewalk on the west side to help with the erosion problem.
To fix the problem you'd have to lower about 7 sections of fence or replace all of those boards. It would be costly and I don't have the funds to do it. To do it right you would have to remove the fence and rebuild part of it from scratch so that the runners were all in the correct spot too.
I can't give
and
a positive review. The fence is not level. At this time I would not recommend that he be hired to install a 75' section of flat fence on a rear property line.

I called to get a quote and the next day I received a visit from
. He gave me a quote that evening and was very affordable and professional. I was extremely impressed with how incredibaly hard
worked and how much he could get done each day. He is not a person who takes short cuts with his work. Extremely high quality workmanship and even more importantly a very kind, sincere, honest person. You won't find a harder working, more professional, honest and affordable person to do build your deck or fence. He has since built a deck for my parents and once again performed to perfection and the deck and cover look perfect.
I was great to work with someone who showed up when he said he would and who has a level of pride in his work that is very hard to find.
He is truly a professional and great person and I would highly recommend his company to anyone in need of a deck or fence.

Installers were exceptional and worked with me to get fence the way I wanted it. They helped come up with solutions to several challenges that arose and provided good advice - leaving final decisions to me. They didn't charge extra even though they hit large rocks and tree roots on every post hole.

I wasn't too impressed with the bid process. I felt like I was being told whatever I wanted to hear. Question: What is the warranty on the fence. Answer: it lasts forever. (He never did provide me with a warranty). The bid was for 4900 (incl tax) but when the installers showed up it had
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
to 5200. Even though I met with salesman the previous day he didn't tell me the price had gone up. He also failed to give me a formal bid, instead he just scribbled a number on a brochure.

If you go with
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
you won't be disappointed as the product and installation were excellent. Recommend you proceed with caution during the sales process and check everything out for yourself (survey, neighbors, easements, utilities, sprinklers, competing bids, etc). don't expect any guidance or suggestions from Ricks.

It was an absolutely wonderful experience. I called on 4/4/2014 to find out about getting an estimate and
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
asked if Saturday, 4/5/2014 would work for us. We said that would be great that he could come so soon. We agreed upon 2:00 pm and
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived promptly. He and my husband went out back and the fence runs were measured and the style we wanted was discussed and decided upon. He worked up a couple of estimates for us as we weren't sure if we wanted 6' or 8" centers. Then he suggested we might consider metal posts as they wouldn't rot and would be much stronger. We elected to follow he advice and go with the metal posts.
He explained that he was booked for the week of April 7th but said he could get to us the following week (April 14th). At 8:30 am on April 14 the crew arrived and tore out our existing "falling down" fence and hauled it off except for the 4 x 4's which we wanted in
our garden area. They moved them to garden area and then began digging new post holes. They got the holes done and set
the posts and said that the cement had to set up before proceeding with the fence. We were told that the soil was really soft (very true) so to ensure the best results they'd let the cement set up for 2 days. They returned at 8:30 am on Wednesday (4/16/14) and proceeded to install the fences and gates. Where we wanted the gate was on sloped ground, so they dug out the soil so that we had no issues with the gate swing and moved and spread the soil to a low spot along the fence. When they got ready to leave, they picked up all debris and took it with them.
We can't say enough about
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew. Everyone was very professional yet courteous, personable, and friendly. They worked steadily and didn't take breaks or stand around chatting. They answered any questions we had and if they were uncertain about anything they had us clarify so that it was done once and to our satisfaction. All in all, besides being much more reasonable in cost than the other bid;
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was just downright pleasant and very conscientious and truly listened to we wanted. If I had need for another fence installation, I would be calling

in a flash.

The crew of 5 arrived promptly at 8:00 am, worked steadily until 2:00 pm and left us with a nice new "good-neighbor" fence. They cleaned up all of the debris they created as well as removing the old fencing. We were happy that
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
(who did the estimate) agreed that the old posts were in good condition and could be re-used. The estimate was arranged and the installation completed quickly, in about 3 weeks from the first phone call to the finished job (possibly because it was a little early in the season).

I called

Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
came out shortly thereafter to check out the problem and provide us with a bid. He was professional and timely. The crew showed up when he said they would and completed the work quickly. They did a very nice, high quality job of matching the existing fencing and we are quite pleased with the work. I've already provided their contact information to a relative with a fence project. I would absolutely hire them again.

It went great. The team showed up when they said they would & the project was completed timely. One thing I particularly appreciated was that they worked with the space to create the greatest view from the downstairs door as the deck was a 2nd story deck.

A friend had used
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
for a much more elaborate job with excellent results.
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was the representative who came to give me the estimate. He explained very thoroughly and the price was reasonable. The crew was punctual and finished the job in two visits. The 'C' rating I have given them is because of the followup response I received and the workmanship.
First, the workmanship. The fence boards they used are rough on one side, smooth on the other. I did not notice this until after the job had been completed. I would have preferred the smooth side to face the front of my house but the workers did not ask my preference. The latch on the 4-foot-wide gate they built does not catch very well and the slightest wind blows it open leaving my back yard exposed. They did not install a handle on the gate nor did they ask if I wanted one. I had to do it myself. The fence boards they used were exceedingly green and have begun to curl slightly.
Second, the followup response. During the summer I noticed that one of the 8-foot posts on the framework in the back yard had noticeably warped. When I called and spoke to
Vancouver Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
about replacing it, he seemed more concerned about his cost than about my concern for having a visually unpleasant structure. He detailed the cost for me, which I could not afford, and I decided I would have to live with it warped. I felt he did not really care. Was my job too small for him to bother with?
