Fencing reviews in Vancouver
The correct height of said rear fence was overlooked and was assumed to be 6' but once I had the old fence removed, I realized that it would take an 8' fence to do a like-for-like. It doubled the original bid to a little over $3,300 because now we needed more material (wood and cement mix) and larger diameter steel posts.
I needed to meet with
During those two meetings I also asked
After the fence was completed I did a thorough inspection and realized that the rear fence was rising at the top of the boards from west to east about 6". There was a huge 6" gap at the bottom of the east end of the fence. My solution was to place a treated 2x6 at the bottom of each of the 10 sections of rear fence. I had to find the proper 2-3/8" brackets at Home Depot that would fit the posts and hold the boards. It was a gap any animal could have easily negotiated, especially my rear neighbor's small dog. I'm trying to keep the possums and raccoons out of my back yard as well.
I have since also treated the fence with a sealer. It looks nice except for the boards at the bottom of my side of the fence. It doesn't look like they belong. It looks funny and bugs me that the fence was built in such a manner that I was forced to take measures like this for my new "dream fence" that my wife and I had been looking forward to for quite some time.
I'm having trouble writing this review.

To fix the problem you'd have to lower about 7 sections of fence or replace all of those boards. It would be costly and I don't have the funds to do it. To do it right you would have to remove the fence and rebuild part of it from scratch so that the runners were all in the correct spot too.
I can't give
I was great to work with someone who showed up when he said he would and who has a level of pride in his work that is very hard to find.
He is truly a professional and great person and I would highly recommend his company to anyone in need of a deck or fence.
I wasn't too impressed with the bid process. I felt like I was being told whatever I wanted to hear. Question: What is the warranty on the fence. Answer: it lasts forever. (He never did provide me with a warranty). The bid was for 4900 (incl tax) but when the installers showed up it had

He explained that he was booked for the week of April 7th but said he could get to us the following week (April 14th). At 8:30 am on April 14 the crew arrived and tore out our existing "falling down" fence and hauled it off except for the 4 x 4's which we wanted in
our garden area. They moved them to garden area and then began digging new post holes. They got the holes done and set
the posts and said that the cement had to set up before proceeding with the fence. We were told that the soil was really soft (very true) so to ensure the best results they'd let the cement set up for 2 days. They returned at 8:30 am on Wednesday (4/16/14) and proceeded to install the fences and gates. Where we wanted the gate was on sloped ground, so they dug out the soil so that we had no issues with the gate swing and moved and spread the soil to a low spot along the fence. When they got ready to leave, they picked up all debris and took it with them.
We can't say enough about
First, the workmanship. The fence boards they used are rough on one side, smooth on the other. I did not notice this until after the job had been completed. I would have preferred the smooth side to face the front of my house but the workers did not ask my preference. The latch on the 4-foot-wide gate they built does not catch very well and the slightest wind blows it open leaving my back yard exposed. They did not install a handle on the gate nor did they ask if I wanted one. I had to do it myself. The fence boards they used were exceedingly green and have begun to curl slightly.
Second, the followup response. During the summer I noticed that one of the 8-foot posts on the framework in the back yard had noticeably warped. When I called and spoke to
