Living in P**** Gorda for 12 years I have struggled to fnd a reliable, trustworthy, reasonably priced marine mechanic to look after my Volvo

gas engines.
Spotting good reviews on Angies list i got him down to do a detail to my boat on the lift, and see if I felt i could trust him to do mechanical work on my boat.
Most detailers cannot do a good job on a lift. no problem here- he has a big float and after 5 hours my 5 year old boat looked like it was just out of the showroom. Not cheap but a great job.
On this basis i decided to trust him to do relatively major work of new risers, manifolds, + 100 hr service and outdrive removal on my Volvo 5.7GXI.
Again, most marine mechanics will not remove an outdrive on the lift.
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
can do EVERYTHING on the lift. Detail, service, outdrive removal. No one else can. Saves removing boat from water, trailering etc.
Great job, evrerything done i asked for. Competant. A couple of hiccups were overcome quickly. It all would have been done in one day but for a problem caused by the last mechanic who workred on the boat.
All in all very happy. Will use him again next year!
After 12 years I have finally found a decent boat mechanic.!

They have always been great.
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
always either answers my calls or returns them. Show up on time, have good prices and do great work. Best of all they provide a lot of information and know how on how to operate and maintain a lift. They have talked me through operation issues on the phone and even stopped by just to see how things were going (as this was my first lift). Most recently the remote stopped working.
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
stopped by and tuned the transmitter (while showing me how to do it myself) at no charge even though it was not something he had originally installed. I recommend them to everyone and will use them again if I ever need anything done on my dock or lift.

The new snap on cover made by
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
is so much easier to use and keeps the interior of our boat much drier than our previous top. We also can snap it on in less than half the time of our old one. It also looks great. Same with the Bimini top. Fabricated in their shop this isn't some flimsy secondary

product. Very high quality and looks great. I was afraid it was going to take them a month to do this work since we didn't decide to do this until the start of the boating season. Wrong. They picked it up on a Wednesday and were done with the work on Friday! No lost boating days. They were great to work with and are highly recommended.

Purchased a boat from BV Marine due to their excellent reputation. Found working and dickering with them enjoyable and professional. Purchased the boat with a couple of options, got the title, and they held it for me until it got warm. Per our agreement, I called them 2 weeks in advance to get the boat delivered - of course it was at the peak of their deliveries (they store boats for people all over

and

, all the lakes from BV lakes to Beaver and more). They had a hard time promising a specific day, much less a time, due to their business, but I was flexible. They were supposed to call on the day of delivery so I could meet them, but they didn't (the delivery guy thought the office was going to call and vice versa). Delivery and training on the boat was fine, but one option they were to install on the boat was incorrect so it required another trip out. Second trip to lake, again no one called - I just saw them working on the boat at my dock. Same mix up within the company. The option still wasn't correct - another lack of communication within the office there. Another trip was required. Third trip I knew better than to expect a call, so just watched for them and saw them arrive and correct the problem. All is well. These guys have been doing this forever. They know the business and the lakes backwards and forwards and have lived here since the dawn of time. They know everything there is to know about pontoon sales and servicing and pretty much anything about other boats, too. Their lead mechanic also knows everything about tournament fishing within 100 miles. Love them all. Just be advised, they are so busy and have seen so much business over the years that they can be a little too calm and nonchalant, which can come off as flippant or uncaring, but they just have done this stuff a bazillion times so don't get too excited about anything. Just take your time, enjoy the conversation, and it will eventually all work out to excellent standards.

Short story: Room & Board sleeper sofa needed to be disassemble to

Long story: What a great experience! I knew
my couch was going to need to be disassembled to get out of my
apartment because the delivery guys needed to do that to get it in. I
got instructions from the company, asked the movers I hired if they
could do it (they said yes) and thought I was good to go. When the
movers got to that part of my move they looked at it all for a while and
after about half an hour trying to get the couch out without taking it
apart (even though I said it wouldn't work) they gave up and we had to
leave it behind. My realtor recomended a different moving company
(Intelligent Labor) who would have been happy to attempt it but said I
should check out

& Sons because they are the experts. Boy were
they! I am so glad I used them and will definitely do so for any
future moves!

I can't say enough about
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
who is the owner of the company. He did all the work himself which included a custom made beautiful
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
style bathroom vanity and very tall linen cabinet. He did all the installation, which included some plumbing, himself to perfection. He's also installed wainscoting in my bathroom as well as kitchen to perfection. In addition, he built a beautiful cabinet around my washer and dryer which is in my office....I just had to hide them! My house is so small so I had to combine the office and laundry room. Lastly, he resized a cabinet in my kitchen. If you want perfection, professionalism, & punctuality this is the go to person for custom made cabinets, vanities, furnitur, etce. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

I don't know what others are talking about with all of the great reviews. This guy diagnosed the leaking fitting as a bad pump. After I insisted he look at the leaking fitting which he insisted did not use "O" rings he grudgingly tried one I provided which fixed the leak fine. I had hoped by calling a "professional" he would know the exact size required, instead I guessed at the size and had to convince him to try it. Diagnosed the tilt/trim solenoid clicking as a bad solenoid rather than a weak battery. Broke the wiring to the solenoid and didn't fix it, saying he would be back with a solenoid later. (I charged the battery and fixed the wiring, it works fine). He did fix the bilge pump wiring. His bill started at $75.00 then he asked for 90 then 100. He got 90 and since he broke more than he fixed I think that is a rip off. In my opinion he hasn't got a clue and is making up problems to justify high charges. Check out his add, not bonded, not insured and I am guessing never trained by any of the major marine companies. Use at your own risk but if you do ask detailed questions when it doesn't seem to make sense. OBTW I am a retired mechanical engineer who just retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia.

service staff tried to make the case that the boat was not being operated properly. They kept changing their speculation on the cause of the problem over 12 months and tried to retroactively claim the owner was doing something incorrectly. This was despite the fact that owner went out on a test cruise with the technician and the technician observed that the owner was doing everything properly. Over this period
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
staff speculated the problem could be attributable to a wide range of potential issues, including the boat as configured by Sea
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
didn't have sufficient power to achieve plane, the boat was overloaded (with only one passenger and the stated capacity of the boat is for 6 passenger) or alternatively the outdrive was not down when attempting to plane, despite the fact that the problem was occurring even when the was fully lowered when going to plane.
Nonetheless they insisted on charging for diagnostic services that accomplished nothing. They couldn't find the source of the problem. Furthermore, despite repeated requests, they would not answer questions by the owner on, should the problem persist, whether or not the warranty would cover finding the problem and getting it fixed . Generally the staff was not professional in responding to requests from the owner on precisely what the warranty would cover.
hey They appeared more interested in maximizing billing for diagnostic service for engine problems, and wanted to charge $480 to perform "diagnostic services" when the engine alarm and warning
Vancouver Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
notified the owner of a malfunction attributable to a faulty sensor. They refused to answer questions if the problem was indeed attributable to a faulty sensor would the diagnostic service be covered under the warranty.
They are happy to sell you a new boat, but when it comes to service under the warranty, they will try to charge the owner for all issues upfront that arise and avoid giving honest assessments of what will be covered by the warranty prior to the start of any work.
