"
Black was very prompt, friendly, and professional. However, it took 3 times over 5 months to get the table stain color close to matching the color of the rest" of the dining furniture. The final stain color was not quite a match, but as close as I think he could get it. Although the quality of the refinishing is excellent, I'm don't think I would try again to match a grouping.

"I contacted Mr.

Furniture Refinishing & Repair

Many families have learned the hard way that antique furniture inherited from the grandparents can't be treated as roughly as modern furniture with its polyurethane finish. Here are tips on what you can do about older furniture that has become damaged. You can make some minor repairs yourself or hire a local furniture repair expert.

Once a year, you can put the equivalent of mitt oil on your leather furniture and it will remove scratches and recondition the leather, says Johnson (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Christie B. of Minneapolis)

I would call the manufacturer first.

They probably have a recommended serviceman list and/or replacement parts available.

That's an interesting concept, plus now you can buy all-new furniture at your new place. You can find ratings and reviews on local real estate agents on Angie's List. I would definitely finding a few agents who are familiar with that kind of listing, or alternatviely, you may want to consider an auction house to help sell off our furniture (which you can also find on Angie's List). Check out both servcies here www.AngiesList.com

1) contact local furniture store that handles and repairs recliners. Frequently, even if they do not have the exact spring, they can come up with a pair that is close enough in length and stiffness that you can swap both and get satisfactory performance.

2) google your local barcalounger dealer - they might be able to get parts or keep a few common ones like springs in stock

3) write the company - Corporate Address: 400 W. Main Street, Suite 210 Morristown, TN 37814 It went bankrupt in 2010 and was bought by HPC3 Furniture Holdings - manufacturing in china now but distributing in US.

4) Google the phrase - barcalounger parts - there are a number of companies listing parts for sale, including springs

This is an update to previous report. I am an attorney. Today I received notice that, in addition to all of the above outrageous behavior, the owner of this shop attempted to file a grievance against me with the State Bar of Texas. His ranting misspelled complaint was dismissed out of hand, but I reiterate my caution about having anything to do with this person or this place.

I have 12 dining room chairs from two different

dining room sets and I wanted them to all have the same finish. So I had 6 chairs refinished to match the finish of the other set of chairs. These chairs also had significant scratches and bite

of a pet on the legs. With the 6 chairs redone, it is not too obvious that I have two sets of chairs.
The chairs were picked up from my house and delivered back to my house at no additional cost which was very convenient. They will definitely have my business again.

I wanted to get an old chair of my grandmother's reupholstered. While the chair frame was in good condition, the fabric was in terrible shape. It had a lot of stains and a musty smell from being in a basement for several years. I also had a 20 year old ottoman that was in relatively good shape but definitely needed new fabric.
I had already chosen fabric I wanted, obtained through a manufacturer that L & S doesn't carry. I called
Tacoma Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
& Son's to ask them how much fabric I should order based on the dimensions of the chair and ottoman, and the repeat of the fabric. Their estimate turned out to be right on. (7- 8 yards; I ordered 8 because I wanted to be safe and have a little extra for pillows, and I ended up with 1.5 yards. Just what I wanted.)
They gave me a quote over the phone based on the furniture dimensions. While I did not call around to other shops, I felt the quote of $225 for the chair and $200 for the ottoman seemed very fair for labor on these two pieces. I had also heard from several people that their work was good, so I wasn't too concerned. They warned me that they had a long lead time (approx 2 months, which was also posted on their website) but that once I was called and brought in my furniture and fabric the work would take about 2 weeks to complete. (It actually took closer to 3 weeks, but there was a holiday during that period.)
The work was excellent. The one concern I had was that the arms on the chair had a small cardboard piece on the underside. It was not visible at all but if someone put their hands in a certain way they could feel it. They said they finished the arms in their standard manner but for no charge allowed me to bring the chair back the next day for them to put fabric over the cardboard.
They also have a large selection of home decor fabric and trim books that was very helpful for finding pillow and window treatment material. They were happy to help with price quotes and fabric swatches.
I am very satisfied. This is a long time local family business. The shop is in no way fancy (it's a workshop) but they seem to have a good grasp on what they are doing. There were several long time customers in the shop on my visits who spoke of years of good experiences.

Sent a picture of my dressing table and chair.
Tacoma Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
gave me a price the same day. When I took it in I was worried the price would change when they saw the damage. Owner said no problem. He said about five to six weeks. He called in less then six weeks. We were going out of town and i asked if he could hold it. No problem. Then I saw it. Wow, wow, wow is all I could say. How could this be the same thing I dropped off. It was more then I could hope for; fair price, high quality, and on time. I will use again. I can't wait.

Mr
Tacoma Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was very easy to work with, agreeable to either having me drop off the rocker or picking it up if that would be easier. Since it was an upholstered piece, he made arrangements to have it delivered to the upholstery shop so the fabric would not be ruined, then back to him, the repair was done, back to the upholstery shop where it was redone, then had that shop deliver to my home. I have already had him do other work, and cannot explain how happy I am. Did I mention that this took less than 10 days? What's not to rave about?

All of the above work was completed in a very tight time frame, and completed while the entire house was being repainted by a separate contractor.
Tacoma Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
took on much of the scheduling aspects as well for the various tasks. Nearly everything was completed entirely correctly the first time, and the few things that did require "call backs" were addressed promptly.
