We are very pleased with the service and professionalism of L& D Granite and

. They were very accommodating and did an excellent job. Our kitchen looks great. We would highly recommend them if you are looking to update your kitchen or bath. We would definitely call on them again to do our bathrooms or floors.

The measurements that they did were incorrect and caused a different overhang on three sides. They did not inspect their work when finished (or just didn't mention it to me) and I didn't notice. My husband pointed it out immediately when he saw it. I contacted them and they tried to tell me the kitchen cabinets were crooked, though the cabinets had been installed prior to them taking the measurements. After many phone calls and emails they agreed to come back to inspect their work. The two men agreed immediately it was their error and called their boss. He offered to re-do the work but our house was already on the

and the open house was in a couple of days. He gave me a refund of a couple of hundred dollars, which was the difference in the cost of another competitor and we accepted.

It went very smoothly with one exception, and that was a misunderstanding on my part about needing to have a wooden support for the corner section. I'm pretty sure I wasn't told, but, in any case, the installers waited for a handyman to come over and put in the section of 2 x 4. I really appreciated that. Finished product looks great!

The representative/owner was extremely personable. He was not a pushy sales person. He wanted to make sure we got what we wanted. We visited his shop MANY times and each time he was happy to help. He kept his appointments and gave us options. He even suggested more than we thought of, such as the angle of the counter and a matching windowsill. I wanted a customized sink, the opposite to what he showed me at his shop. He ordered it right away and had it ready before the install.
Price wise, he knocked off as much as he could from the price and beat all his competitiors.
I can't say enough good about this company. He was even careful to include our family members present into his conversations so as not to shut anyone out. He assured us that his goal was not only to make us happy, but to exceed his own expectations of what he believed he could do for us. We had to have him return to change one small item and he was happy to do it, even after the job was paid. What a great guy and company! The other thing I like is he is a smaller family owned business, competing with the big guys and I believe he did better than they would due to the personalized attention we received. I would recommend them to anyone.
Out granite looks beautiful and the measurements could not have fit better.

.It went horribly. The technicians were to seal all my stone counter tops and shower. They polished everything and scratched the marble and the fixtures in the shower. They removed all the grout in the shower when they were only supposed to repair one area.
They did not dry the shower before regrouting and nothing dried. It took me 2 weeks to get them back out here and the new technician had to redo all the work done by his colleagues. It then took weeks to dry and we could not use our shower for weeks.
The were supposed to clean the grout on my kitchen floor and they did a terrible job, improvement. They did however remove some of the grout while trying to clean and did not even replace it until I said something to them.
The experience was painful and disastrous. Watch out for their sales people...they talk a good game and do not deliver at all.
My granite, grout and marble are in worst condition than they were before they started. The grout in the shower has loosened and fallen out already.
I will never let them in my house again.

Great experience from start to finish.

responded quickly to all my calls and emails when I had questions. Had to make a last minute scheduling change and was happily accommodated. The floor and sink look better than new. The people doing the work could not have been nicer. There are various levels of shine and I wasn't sure what I wanted. They showed me samples on my floor which made the decision easy. Good people - good service.

He was neat, considering what he was doing. He also explained to us that although the previous owner said they never used it that it had been used so often that if we tried to light a light a fire the way the flue was it would have started a fire.

The work started on schedule and was done in less then three weeks.

The price, even with some surprise charges was more reasonable compared to other bids I have had over the years.

The crew did not speak English and the Foreman was not around during much of the job. If we needed to communicate something to the crew we had to call the Foreman and do a phone chain. At one point we needed to

have the guys move their truck so the new appliances could be brought in the garage and I had to use hand signals to get them to move it out of the way.

Drywall dust was everywhere. We have young children and I

’t want them breathing things they

’t need to in to their lungs. I asked before the work started if the work crew would seal off the work area and keep the dust to a minimum. I was told this would be handled. Instead, all they did was put drop clothes over some of the furniture and sealed nothing off at all. It took weeks after they crew left before I cleaned all the places in the house the drywall dust ended up.

The crew left the demoed kitchen cabinets with all the exposed sharp nails in our back yard until they where good and ready to take them away. The kids could not play in the back yard for two weeks because it was not safe for them to do so.

Every time the refrigerator comes on I am reminded of the less than perfect electrical work they did because the pot lights dim. The microwave was doing this as well so I asked that they switch the plugs to one that was not on the same circuit as the

new lights they installed. I had to do the research for them with an extension cord to figure out what outlets in the kitchen

would not affect the new lights. Once I figured it out we had them do the move. And they charged us extra $$$ for this move. It was not until after the job was done that I noticed the refrigerator was also diming the lights. Both of the

electrical outlets that dim the lights are the ones the remolding company installed for the appliance relocation. I should have left the lighting and electrical to a licensed professional electrician and will likely have someone come in and check the work to fix the other outlet that affect the new lighting system.

Minor but worth noting - There are still some expose shims I missed during my punch list, a few kitchen doors that stick, and they had to use caulk to hide the fact the granite back splash was not flush to the wall with substantial gap. They said "my old house walls are not plum" but if they knew that it should have been corrected or let me know the consequences before rather then after the fact.

Bottom Line:

Some of the work was top notch while other parts left me not wanting to use the group again. If you have the time to stay on top of the work, know some Spanish so that you can talk with the crew in real time, and insist on written change orders with the dollar amount attached for any extra work they want to do (mistake on my part that lead to charges I was not aware of), it may be worth the moderate financial savings.

Was great. I called at the last minute...about a day before the big ice storm was scheduled to hit. They put me onto the schedule.
