Fencing reviews in Redmond

Fence Connection had the lowest price of the 3 estimates we got. Everything was handled over e-mail, which was great for me. There was a scheduling hiccup, where I think they forgot to put us on the schedule, but my husband called and figured it out. Lesson for us - be more persistent to get an exact date of service, don't just assume that things will happen. After that, they handled our changelists easily, the guys who built

did a nice job, were punctual and reasonably professional, and finished on time. It is a nice fence. I would use them again

Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was very responsive and did good quality work. My initial contact was by phone to obtain an estimate. The estimator came on the day the promised and emailed an estimate within a day. I wanted to consider the cost of another option, which I received the day after calling with that new request. The work was scheduled for about 2 weeks after I accepted the original bid. I was initially told it would take one day to remove the old fence and posts and re-set the new posts. Then it would be 7-10 days for them to return to build the new fence. After mentioning that we had a dog and needed the fence built more quickly, they agreed to complete the fence two days after the new posts were set. They did the work as promised, and left our back yard spotless after the job. The fence also looks great. When the other portions of our fence need replacement, I would definitely consider hiring

To set some context: I hired
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
's Custom Fences because
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
built a great fence for my Mom a while back, and she referred him to me.
My experience with
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
's Custom Fences, however, was the single worst experience I've ever had with a contractor -- the quality was so poor that my jaw, and the jaws of everyone who saw the work, immediately dropped. Where my Mom's fence was well-made with excellent attention to detail and crafstmanship, my fence was, in the words of our realtor, "something from a war zone". We captured extensive photos of the problems, which were so numerous that the fence needed to be completely removed as it was negatively impacting the value of our home. The fence
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
's company built for us was most certainly not professionally constructed and indeed was, in places, simply a mesh stapled randomly on crooked posts. This was hard for us to wrap our heads around given the quality of work he did for my Mom, but the photos tell the story.
Throughout this process I pointed out these very serious problems to
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
, and I never received a response that demonstrated he understood I was upset about the lack of quality. We had
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
build this fence around our lovely and well-maintained house, and he built something that appeared to be better suited to keeping people out of a condemned property. We were advised by our realtor that the fence quality was so uniformly poor it should be removed.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
made one attempt to fix some of the problems, but his solution was attaching what appeared to be random lengths of boards to the front and top of the fence that were jutting at random
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
-- we captured photos of this as well. In addition to the structural issues, the fence was filthy upon completion:
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
made the questionable decision to have his team work during the heaviest rainfall we had in Seattle in years, and they continued working in the driving rain for several hours after dark with virtually no light sources other then small

headlamps -- and of course, the entire fence was caked in filth and mud when finished which he and his crew made no attempt to clean. We were presented with a completed fence late that night that was not only terribly constructed and unsafe, but also so filthy that in places the wood and fence material was almost completely obscured with mud and debris.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
presented us with the final bill for work completed we gave him two options: either fix the fence to reasonable professional quality standards or remove it completely. He chose to remove it completely, of course, because the structural issues were so serious that the entire fence would have needed to be rebuilt to meet any reasonable measure of quality. We were strongly urged to take
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
to small claims court given the evidence in our photos and videos, but we wanted a fast resolution and most importantly, we wanted that fence gone immediately. we've since filed a complaint with the BBB that is in arbitration.
So in the end we basically lit $3000.00 on fire because
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
built a fence that no sane person would allow to stand.

Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
are the most professional contractor I have ever hired. Their estimate process was excellent, down to the last detail. (color, size, width, quality and showed pics or samples of all). They booked promptly, showed up on time and completed the job ahead of schedule. I requested work to be done over three days (a weekend) and they happily complied. They resolved a problem when it turned out we needed some longer boards to cover some uneven ground. A call was placed and the extra boards delivered. Great experience from beginning to end.

We had some of top (lattice) portions of our fence blown by a storm.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
came and took a look. He proposed a creative solution to repair the fence.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
did a good job.

Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner, is very nice, friendly and communicative. He met with us at the house before we finalized the purchase, advised us and helped us realize what we wanted done. We told him at the very beginning that we were on a limited budget, and asked him to work with us on a "to-do" list within our budget limits. He came back with an estimate that was a bit on the higher side for our budget, but something we could live with. He also said, that he was OVER-ESTIMATING so that we'll be pleasantly surprised when the work is done.

The work was performed very professionally and in a timely manner. We have no complaint on that, only praise for the skilled professionals who worked for us. Timetables were met beautifully and we were informed and consulted with whenever there was an issue requiring our attention.

HOWEVER, during the 3 weeks of the work, we never heard anything about where we were money-wise. We were told some ambiguous things like: "some of the ceiling was very easy to deal with and some not so much". We weren't required to approve any documented change to the initial agreement. While we knew there were a few unplanned additions along the way, we definitely didn't expect the bitter surprise that came as a shock for us at the end:
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was 6000$ (about 40%) ABOVE his initial estimate!!! (remember? "over estimating"? quite the opposite). He tried to explain where the difference came from, but the plain and ugly truth is, that the initial estimate was just wrong.

Now, was that a scam? I don't think so. To me, it is just poor professional judgement.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
did say that the final number came out even higher than that, and the 6000 gap was "after discount". Yet, I didn't feel like he genuinely cared about putting us in debt, nor did he take responsibility for his own estimation mistakes. So we paid him and moved in to our beautifully remodeled new house. However, now we're in debt, we're angry and frustrated, and we will never hire "
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
" again nor will we recommend for anyone to do that.

I scheduled an appointment to have an estimate for a fence in our backyard. I talked to
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
directly to schedule the appointment and he said he was able to come the next day. The next day my husband came home from work for the appointment so he could talk to
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
as well.
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
never showed up. I called his company number when he was late and the lady who answered said she would page his blackberry. I still have not heard anything back from him.

Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
did a fine job. The fence looks great. The cost was as estimated; only variance from estimate was due to changes I asked him to make. He was flexible with the changes and reasonable in adjusting the prices. He communicated well about schedule and showed up when he said he would show up. He had good suggestions for the fencing options. Also, a friendly guy, considerate of the neighbors.
- Thomas G.

The sales representative was very professional and knowledgeable, and took the time necessary to educate me on fencing and answer all my questions. The crew walked the fence line with me to make sure the posts were going to be installed in the correct positions. The crew to install the fence showed up without any notice, which did not work for me because I had scheduled other work to be done on our property the day they showed up. So, they came back another day. The fence looks great, but I was a little surprised that it wasn't touching the ground in all areas. The sales representative came back out and explained why it was built this way, and it made sense after hearing his explanation. There was a billing error, which the sales rep also corrected.

Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was very professional and knowledgeable when they provided a bid. We selected another contractor because they were referred to us by several people and their price was slightly lower. However, I think
Redmond Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
would have done a good job.
