"My appointment was at 10:00, scheduled for 2 hours. I was completely done by 10:45. During the process of "draping me" to determine my "colors"," while she was friendly, Crystal communicated with me about the process very little. Except for a couple times, she did not tell me the reasons for her ruling out some colors, nor what seasons she was eliminating. I felt confused and perplexed throughout, and it was not until later that I learned what was wrong with the situation, after I spoke to other professionals in the field of PCA (Personal Color Analysis) and numerous other people who had been draped. Crystal draped me as a "Dark Autumn". The $212 short appointment didn't include tax, or a tip, which I felt pressured to leave - even though my appointment was a full hour and 15 minutes less than scheduled. I felt unhappy and insecure in my colors fairly soon after my appointment but I thought I just needed to get used to them. I soon learned there were key elements askew in the
system. 1) The salon claimed to use Full Spectrum lighting. In reality, the lights are ambient, not placed near the skin - which means that it is impossible for the environment to be truly controlled. The drapings are done in front of a window, without a neutral backdrop - the analyst's apron is navy (not neutral - should be grey). While there are systems that do use natural lighting, potential problems with using natural light include the fact that natural light changes, and results may be inconsistent. The need for controlled lighting is so results will be consistent across the board, as both the analyst and client can see how the skin reacts to the colors, unaffected by outside factors. 2) Both analyst and client should understand why colors are eliminated. Part of the goal of PCA should be to teach the client about how color affects their own skin; if there is no dialogue, how is there an education? Crystal kept telling me how what she chose made me look "creamy" but I failed to see exactly how that was true. She did not tell me what she eliminated or why. Sometimes she would say, "this one, by a hair", and that was it. 3) They claimed that their own system was based in the Sci\Art system, however I felt that their method was, at best, a poorly interpreted version of that. Their conclusions were too hasty; and it was my understanding that entire seasons were ruled out during the rapid "warm/cool/dominant trait" test done at the beginning. I think the way it was conducted & used was an error and a mistake
her down the wrong path. During the following time while I was trying to get used to my "season", my husband was draped by Crystal. His $169+tax+tip noon appointment, scheduled for 1 hour 15 minutes, was over by the time I arrived at 12:15pm. (I have date stamped photos from the end of both of our sessions to back up my claims.) Unsurprisingly, he was unable to understand how the colors affected him. I also felt strongly suspicious that there was zero way she could have accurately eliminated seasons that rapidly, and we felt she had made up her mind about him based on his ethnicity (though this can't be confirmed). My husband had initially been excited, but felt bitter enough that he soon gave up trying to understand his given "season". After several weeks of feeling unhappy myself, I asked to come back in to the salon to talk to Crystal and revisit some of the drapes. I was thankful and even brought a small gift to Crystal for her time. Crystal was very friendly and kind, and did show me a couple drapes again, acknowledging she may need to "shift me a bit" within Autumn, but when I asked to see other seasons, specifically cold seasons, she said there was no way I could be cold, insisting I was warm due to my "yellow undertones" in my skin. The other Autumn seasons looked worse on me, as did one Spring season, so I conceded to her "expertise". She was dismissive of my concerns and statements that I felt heavy in the Dark Autumn colors, telling me to just no wear a whole section of my palette (which is a red flag...while not every color is going to be the absolute best, no one should have to ignore entire chunks of their "colors"). I felt it was strange that she was unwilling to revisit cold seasons with me, if she was so confident in her results. I left feeling unsatisfied. I called and emailed the following week, sending her pictures of myself in some Winter lipsticks. Crystal responded that the color I had chosen was wrong and washed me out, and offered to LET me pay for a new draping with someone else. I responded that I knew the cold color was not perfect, but it had good things that made me feel it was worth checking out Winter seasons. I expressed that it made me feel better than the one she had given me and asked her to revisit it. I just wanted to find something that made me feel good - I had spent so much money by this time on makeup and clothes based on HER recommendations. I felt the least she could do was explain to me in person WHY the cold seasons were wrong for me. She never responded to me again. I called and had a long conversation with
, the manager. She was suspicious of how I felt, and told me that the services were fulfilled, though she acknowledged that the 15 minutes spent on my husband was suspect. I told her that I was not confident in their process and neither my husband nor I wanted a redrape with them, at this point - I wanted a refund for him and a partial refund for myself, because I don't think they were right in their determinations. She became defensive and critical of other analysts who might tell me differently (again - if you are confident, why the hesitation? It's not supposed to be subjective, actually). I told her I wanted her to make it right, and she told me she would think about how she could do that, and would call me back that day or the next at the latest. I even gave her extra time for the benefit of the doubt, hoping she would be professional and call me back. She never responded at all. I proceeded to get redraped with a reputable analyst. It did not take long for us to both see that warm seasons were TERRIBLE on me. Dark Autumn, the season Crystal had chosen, was almost my worst season. I was redraped a True Winter - ironically, the coldest season that there is. That Dark Autumn "creamy" that Crystal claimed was good made me look tired and sick. I saw it easily when I was finally in the correct controlled environment. I wrote one final last ditch effort letter to
and Crystal both, explaining why I felt they were wrong, what the new results were, and asking for them to make it right with me by refunding us. I sent them pictures in my new season, and comparisons of the two seasons. I am profoundly disappointed that they once more never responded. I tried to engage my credit card company to get a refund but, unfortunately, they could not, because: (1) my husband and I both showed up for the appointments; (2) we had not signed a contract; and (3) so much time had passed... ironically, the time I kept giving to
to make it right with me. While they did contact
on my behalf, the salon of course refused to give me even a partial refund. It amazes me what a company will NOT do to make it right - especially a company charging as much as they do for their services. I cannot ever recommend a business that has such poor practices not only in customer relations and communication, but also who performs a service so poorly. I hesitated to write a review as I expect(ed) that they will respond by stating that they have performed the service they advertised, that it is subjective (though as I said above, it should not be, given the right environment), etc. But in the end, I worry about all the people they say that they drape (Crystal claimed she alone does 20 per month) and, while they may not know better, I worry they are being ripped off. I would not recommend this business to anyone, for any reason, even if some of their services are performed exceedingly well - if not for the fact that the PCA service was performed sloppily, then merely because they were terribly unprofessional.

"My girlfriend and I are going on a trip to the beach very soon for our first vacation away with just the two of us. In preparation, I decided to try out a wax appointment" before we leave and set out trying to find somewhere that offered waxing services to men. I found
online and it was seemingly the closest place to me that offered this (It's about an hour and 15 minutes from where I live, which is a bit of a drive). I booked the initial appointment online and initially just booked myself for a brazilian wax. Later on I decided that I wanted to add the legs too, but the system did not allow me to modify the appointment online that I could see, so I called in.
answered quickly and answered a couple questions that I had and modified my appointment accordingly. I even received an email letting me know the appointment had changed within minutes. I showed up for my appointment about 15 minutes early as was suggested on the website and was greeted promptly. I was given the paperwork that I needed to fill out (just a short questionnaire and waiver to sign), and shown where the restroom was if I wanted. They also offered me coffee, tea, or juice while I waited. There was another person waiting to begin his appointment and she took him in to begin his. My wait was pleasant and relaxing. My appointment started about 10-15 minutes late, but I expect that sort of thing in a business dealing with people who often times schedule an appointment and then want to add in additional services when they get there.
took me back and asked me about my previous experience with waxing. After finding out it was my first time, she explained the process to me and made me feel much more comfortable about the process. She left the room to let me undress and provided me with a towel for my own modesty and a couple minutes later she returned to begin the procedure. She explained every step of the way when she was going to do something different. I was very impressed with her professionalism and thoroughness. I was made to feel very comfortable during the entire process and I love the results. The experience I had at
was definitely a good one and I hope that I will be able to make it back for future appointments. Knowing what to expect in the future, I know that it's not as bad people would like you to believe and the results are fantastic.
is very skilled at her trade and I will definitely be recommending her to friends that I have in the area.

Spa reviews in Puyallup

My massage therapist was professional, friendly, and skilled. I personally like silence and she could sense that and allowed me to quietly slip into relaxation. It felt fantastic both during and after. Highly recommended!

My technician
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
was very helpful. Unfortunately, my initial evaluation was not very helpful in determining that i had a lot of gray that does not respond to treatments. It works great on dark hair.

Youngsville Massage and Wellness,
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
, was referred to me by my karate teacher. She is expert in therapeutic massages that alleviate physical ailments and improve health. The focus in my sessions with her is relieving chronic lower back pain, and stiffness and pain in my knees. She does an amazing job. My back and knees feel great after each session, and I sense that my back and knee health are improving over time. I wish I had gone to her sooner.

I loved it! Karemia has such a warm soul and makes it so easy to relax around her. She is very passionate about her work and is constantly looking for opportunities to grow and continue to learn. She is a pleasure to talk to and be around. She is very attentive in her massages and makes sure that you are comfortable at all times. I have felt so relaxed during her massages that one time I almost fell asleep! She is very accommodating with her schedule and she even makes home visits. There's not much better than getting a massage and just walking upstairs to go to bed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Karemia to friends or family, and have already referred many to her. You will not regret booking a massage with her!!

Usual manicurist was not available, put me with someone else and walked away. Did not explain my needs or wants for the type of manicure, and process to use. Terrible job, uneven, bumpy unnatural look. She had no idea what to do. She couldn't understand my conversation, totally useless, forgot to finish properly. Complaints got me nowhere. Owner wasn't around. Paid for it, but won't go back.

I have been going to

for 2 years now for facials.
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
is a sincere professional with an amazing talent to turn your skin around. The results I have received are nothing less than wonderful! She gives the best facials I have ever had anywhere She cares deeply for her clients, and always remembers my personal likes such as lavender scent and an extra blanket because I get cold easily.
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
is the star of this place. I have fallen asleep during her extractions, and they NEVER leave a bruise or a red spot. If she would ever transfer to another spa, I will follow her!

They offer the best natural nail manicure I have ever received. For both
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
and pedis they do a hot towel segment which is very relaxing. For waxing and facials I go to
Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
, she does a wonderful job. I am in for a Brazilian wax every 3 weeks and I get an enzyme facial every 5 weeks. For that extra boost a chemical peel along with the enzyme facial really helps. I have suffered with acne prone skin for years and after going in regularly for facials my skin is better than it has been in years. They have a good selection of beverages for you to enjoy during your services, I typically go for a mimosa. For facials/body waxing/massages/etc you have the option of wearing a

and slippers and relaxing in the "relaxation room" before or after your services. They also have showers available if you feel so inclined.

Puyallup Day Spas Provider Name Locked
listened to what I wanted & gave me a good haircut. I have been going every 6 weeks for about 6 months now. Quiet, calm atmosphere. Always punctual or they call to let you know. Tips cannot be put on the credit card, so bring some cash for tipping. Haircut was about $35 or $40 with shampoo.
