"I feel like this company tried to use scare tactics on me. I was delivered 'good news and bad news' by their inspector,
. The good" news was the cost of the retrofit- exactly in the price range I expected. The bad news was that the retrofit would not pass inspection without a costly repair to the portion of my foundation that is masonry. When I asked later about modifying the extent of the repair in order to get it to something more affordable so that I could get the desired retrofit done, I was told we could forget the repair all together, but the cost of the retrofit then increased almost 25%. This left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. On the positive side, I contacted the company and the owner called me back the same day. We spoke on the phone, and naturally, he defended his company and attributed it to a misunderstanding of the terms they were offering. But, I was there and my perspective was quite different. This experience was a disappointing one, as I have been dreaming about getting a seismic retrofit done on my house for a long time, and of all the companies on Angie's List,
was at the top of my list because of all their rave reviews and the reasonable prices. I ended up getting a bid from another company and going with them. The price for the retrofit was almost exactly the same and I was assured that although I need the masonry repaired, it was not necessary for passing inspection on the retrofit. This was correct, as I had the work done and the inspector signed off without the repair.

"Everything went really smoothly. The work performed was in excess of code and in excess of what we agreed upon. I was very happy about that. His crew was on time" every day and they cleaned up nicely after the job was done. The job passed inspection, which is the most important thing.
did not require any deposit and payment was contingent on passing inspection. That says a lot about his faith in the work his company performs. I would definitely recommend Anchor Strong for seismic retrofit work.

Earthquake Retrofitting reviews in Puyallup

It went very well indeed.
Puyallup Earthquake Retrofitting Contractors Provider Name Locked
gave a very thorough pre-project explanation of what was needed and how the work would be done. His team arrived on time, helped move heavy furniture as necessary, protected floors as needed, worked very hard until each stage was completed, removed debris and cleaned up well. The walls that had been opened were repaired and repainted as necessary, and actually looked better than they had before. A couple of small requests I had about details were dealt with promptly and pleasantly. At first, there were a couple of occasions when I was not informed of when to expect people, but once I mentioned this,

subsequently kept me informed by email or phone - no other problems at all. The whole team was very professional and thorough, and I am very glad we made this choice.

He was like a car salesman - put pressure on me to make a deal that day - talked and talked about how great his service was- spent the entire time trying to get me to make a deal with him. So unprofessional

I am listing this to save people some time. I called today to get an estimate and I was told that they would not even come out and do an estimate for at least five months (forget scheduling the work). Additionally they were unwilling to take down my information so that I could even setup an appointment five months in the future. don't bother even calling at this point. they have more work than they know what to do with and they clearly acted that way over the phone. He was also unable/ unwilling to give any suggestions about other contractors that do this work in the area. I was pretty much at a loss for words not sure I've ever had a contractor be so utterly unhelpful in all respects.

During a property inspection, the inspector found a supporting post missing at where two girders meet under the raised foundation.

is the company recommended by the inspector. Called up the owner

and he told me to email him the inspection report on the post. He came over on Sat and did his own inspection. He explained to me what should be done. His crew showed up on-time on the day of the repair. While they were clearing away the dirt to make room for the new cement block the crew discovered a 'underpin' already in place which reduced the amount of work they have to do. Because of that,
Puyallup Earthquake Retrofitting Contractors Provider Name Locked
offered to reduce the price because his crew did not have to do the work quoted. That was a pleasant surprise to me. It never happened like that before.
I am very happy with the work done by

. I feel much better about the structure of the property.

treated his customer fairly and I know I don't have to second guess his recommendation, his expertise and pricing when I deal with him. I would recommend him to anybody who have problems with the foundation.

Very smoothly, Workers were professional. They consulted me when there were options or decisions about how things would be finished. There was a slight delay due to slow processing for the permit. They finished the interior spaces above my expectations. I would hire them again.
- Allen M.

This company was almost 3 months out when I made my appointment. But I went with them anyhow - they were the clear choice. I kind of geeked out (researching as best as I could) about the options out there for seismic upgrade. I feel lucky to have picked these guys as one of my three contractors to bid... they were the middle bid (with the other bids being quite wild in the high and low directions!). Big bonus for coming up with the right physics answers. (Really, it's surprising to see the variation of "opinions" out there regarding what is needed to hold your house together in case of THE BIG ONE.)
Then, it was actually quite shocking when I called two days before our scheduled appointment and they said they were planning on being there at 8AM on they day they scheduled! They were able to keep to their schedule for three months with no surprises coming up?!
So they showed up, and everything went great. Super diligent work crew. I would send any of my friends to them.

I bought a 1969 split-level that was built to questionable standards.
Puyallup Earthquake Retrofitting Contractors Provider Name Locked
performed a seismic retrofit (anchoring the house to the foundation, and the first floor to the groundfloor, stiffening the corners).
Puyallup Earthquake Retrofitting Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were an absolute delight to work with. They walked me through the options and came up with a plan suitable for my situation. They performed the work within schedule and budget and left the downstairs cleaner then they found it. They worked with me on accommodating other contractors that were in and out at the same time.
If you need a seismic retrofit, I can only recommend them highly.

The job went very well.
Puyallup Earthquake Retrofitting Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out initially to bid the project and returned to rebid with an expanded project scope. On the day of the project, the crew arrived promptly at 8:15 am and stayed until 6:30 pm to complete all of the demo and strapping work. They took care of the permit drawings and inspection the next day. The drywall took a few days because we discovered a plumbing issue, but the crew returned and matched the walls perfectly so you couldn't tell the difference. The job site was kept clean and well organized and the construction waste was stacked neatly outside and disposed of after the project. I would recommend
