In a nutshell, everything went perfectly well - I only wished all my dealings with contractors went as well in terms of exceeding expectations. I had an energy assessment from the local utility (
), and they provided me with a list of contractors that they work with (they do a spot check on contractors afterwards to insure quality). I contacted four contractors on the list, and of the four, Dutch (the owner of
) provided the most comprehensive proposal (though two of the other contractors gave extremely useful information as well). With most of the other bids, I had to ask a number of questions and do my own research, but with
, their proposal was extremely extensive and I only had to ask 2-3 clarification questions. In areas where contractors gave conflicting information in their proposal, I went back to
for advice, and
's bid met the bar. At face value,
's proposal was the most expensive, but, once I broke down the tasks by line item and made adjustments (eg -
included soffit work, whereas the other bids did not), they actually came in very competitive. What made the final decision for me was when an independent outsider gave
two thumbs up for extensive proposals, quality of work, and pride/ownership of the work done (they had worked on another project with
and had the opportunity to observe their work first hand). I also checked with two local contractors to do the same work (not on the
list) - they came in lower price, but much less detailed, and gave me less confidence that they could do the job as well as
. In regards to the actual work, Christian (the
person who did most of the work) was polite, clean, organized, professional, and did an outstanding job. His associate (
), who came on the last day, also did an outstanding job and they were very approachable with answering my questions and taking the time to be sure their work was done right. They did subcontract out the exterior soffit venting (to help with air flow circulation in the attic). I asked for bids from other roofers to be sure I was getting a good deal. The subcontractor roofer (Triple Pine Roofing from Gordonville) did an outstanding job, and cost less than the other roofer bids.
worked all day, and did an amazing amount of work in the hot summer heat. (I viewed it as an asset that
worked closely with a sub-contractor for the soffits - Dutch explained to them what needed to be done and made sure it was coordinated with the work his own people did). Bottom line - great proposal, great service, great people for
. Two thumbs up.. .

!I stayed home all day waiting for this contractor,s 13:00 appointment. No one showed up. When
the following day, or week after the fact I told him I would not waste any more time on this I would not be using his service now or in the future. He indicated that he would bill anyway. This was clearly a no show, no call situation! My credit card was billed and caused a 25.00 late charge to the account.

Homemaster were really flexible to work with us as part of the work was performed by us (demolishing) even thought it was inclueded in their initial quotation. They revised the quote in a fair way.
We had some unexpected issues that increased the initial quotation but I guess that in a 1955 house remodeling things like this happen. All together, it was a really good deal.
On the other side, they do not manage the project, coordinate with the cabinet manufacturer or other professionals so we needed to spend more time than planned.
All together, I would use their services again.

We were having moisture in the attic and it was determined that there was insufficient air circulation through the existing soffit vents and roof vents and in some areas no ventilation at all. The bathroom vents were also improperly vented throughout the 8 inch roof vents instead of having a dedicated vent for each bathroom fan. The effect of keeping this uncorrected is like spraying a garden hose against the house. The moist air ricochets off the roof vent back into the house.

and his team used a calculation to determine the correct amount of net free air required and how much NFA each vent provided. Incidentally those small 3" round vents all throughout the soffits don't allow any air flow. 4"x16" soffit vents were added all around the house as were 8" roof vents. I'm going to guess about 20 of each. They also insulated all bathroom, dryer, and kitchen hood vents in the attic to prevent condensation from forming during the colder months. Very professional crew protected the interior and left no

Work was done in 1/2 day. Crew was professional, amiable and efficient. They removed a strip of siding, drilled a hole and injected the foam, patched the holes and replaced siding. They could tell that the oldest walls of the house (built in 1946) had very little existing insulation as those walls took the most to fill.

The whole time from the beginning I was impressed with

at Budget and the company. I was kept informed of how things were going and when I could expect Install to begin.

our installer was great he was able to explain everything to me and even went out of his way to do a couple of little extras no charge. Extremely happy with my siding and window and will recommend to anyone who is in need of new siding or windows. I can't wait to test out the new window come winter time and see how much money it will save me and how much warmer it will keep my home.

Adelphia initially won this job because they were the only contractor I asked for quotes from that didn't miss appointments, but I'm very glad I went with them based on the quality of the finished job as well. They had a very competitive cost and the work was done well. The job was well cleaned up, no mess or damage of any kind. The upstairs of floor of my very hard to condition townhouse is definitely improved. All appointments were on time - initial consultation, estimate measuring, and the actual job were all punctual. I would use them again!

provided a quality review of our home and suggested a reasonable course of action, as our cape cod style home attracted a lot of heat in the summer. The crew showed up on time and cut only three holes in the ceiling/walls and managed to blow insulation and install thermal shields throughout out house. Very impressed with

I was very pleased. I just got taken by an AC company but
Port Angeles Insulation Contractors Provider Name Locked
made me feel comfortable and supervised the whole job. I had received other bids for 25% higher so needless to say I was very happy w/ price and the quality of job.

The results of their work were excellent. Prior to their work, we could not keep the temperature in our house above 55 degrees during winter arctic blasts (outdoor temperatures in the teens and 20s). After they sealed and insulated our house (where needed), we were able to maintain indoor temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s during the coldest of weather. The owner of the company was very professional, diagnosed our problem and designed a solution. He was great! The workers who actually showed up to do the work were nice, but not professional. They did not put booties on or

plastic over the carpet while working in the house. They tracked dirt and mud into the house for 2 straight days and did not clean up after themselves. We spent $175 having our carpets cleaned after the work was performed. Additionally, we had a misunderstaning with the owner about an option we thought was included in the bid. He did not agree but said he wanted us to be 100% satisfied, and that he would get back to me with a compromise and a solution. He did not follow through. Again, the diagnosis was accurate and the result was what we hoped for.
