Musical instrument repair

If you already own or are thinking about owning a musical instrument, you'll need to factor in the cost of repair and maintenance for that instrument. Even the most carefully played instrument will require some amount of upkeep over the years. Luckily, if you have your instrument regularly serviced, you're less likely to run into costly repairs down the road.

Mr

It is our opinion that there is no one who can provide better service and the prices are worth the level of expertise that he demonstrates. He always has the instruments done when promised. We have always been satisfied with the quality of the work.

Where do I start. Calling Rich a consummate piano tuner is almost an insult to what he does. He's a rare and gifted artisan who can build pianos from scratch and also happens to tune and maintain them wonderfully. He's been tuning my Steinway since I bought it around 8 years ago (he specializes in Steinway and used to be Steinway's top technician in Boston). But what he really does is elevate my piano into a realm of perfection that makes it a complete joy to play. He has also done voicing work, one time he took out the entire action and brought it back later to fix barely perceptible inconsistencies. My music stand was getting difficult to move so he took it away and reshaped it slightly so it works better. It was be impossible for me to overstate how good a job he does or how highly and enthusiastically I would recommend him to anyone who owns a fine piano.

I personally couldnt be any happier with the workmanship and effort
Federal Way Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
and his crew put into their work. Its refreshing to get advice from someone who actually expresses full dedication and passion in being a luthier. The quality of work is 2nd to none, and he truly cares about the customer before anything else. 1st impressions are a big thing for me, and i walked in this shop feeling like i knew these people for years. After seeing my guitar done for the first time, I was shocked at how much more alive the guitar looked. It was breathing new life.
Federal Way Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
took the time to explain in great detail everything he did on the guitar and helped be better understand the instrument as well. So, to say the least, my experience at Luthiers was simply world class.

Federal Way Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
is a luthier shop that is run out of the owners' house. It's a family endeavor, and it shows in a very favorable way. And, while it's a bit out of the way - my own drive from the
Federal Way Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
Bench district was about 7 miles, or 20 minutes - I found it well worth the drive. They do have stated business hours but because they run
Federal Way Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
out of their house, they seem to be very flexible about accommodating hours outside the normal business hours to help you adjust to the vagaries and demands of your own life.

I took a new and reasonably expensive violin to have a tailpiece changed. There was also some buzzing so I had them check the seams on the bouts, as well. The initial inspection revealed three seams that needed to be repaired. Later, on closer inspection, they found a total of seven seams had separated and needed to be re-glued. Despite the additional work they stuck with their already very reasonable original estimate and completed all the work in 2 days.

The instruments they rent and sell vary from a moderate, but still reasonable student instrument, to those suitable for professionals. And, while they focus on violins and violas, they also carry a few cellos and basses.

The price rating I'm giving this shop is based on the repair costs, not the sale of instruments, which can vary dramatically.

This small and intimate but very professional shop is a bit off the beaten path but I'll be taking my own instruments to them for all my luthier needs in the future.
