"This company will not set up a specific appointment time for a repairman to come out, nor will they give you a window of time, during which they will arrive, until" after 9:00am the day they come, so you cannot make plans to go anywhere or do anything else on that day, except sit and wait. Pretty much a guessing game as to when they will come, until shortly before they show up. The repairman did call 20 minutes before he arrived, but then whizzed past me to the kitchen without eye contact or identifying himself. Immediately starting huffing and grumbling about how he didn't know how he was going to get the stovetop out. About 45 minutes later, he finished, and handed me a bill for $222.09!!! $75 service call for which they will not make an appointment - only give you the day they are coming - and none of which applies to their bill. $70 for 45 minutes labor. $124.08 for a switch. Total $222.09!!! Seems extremely high for a 45 minute job and a small switch, but the unfriendly grumpiness of the repairman was the worst! He wanted an additional $25 (plus $85/hr labor charge) just to look behind the refrigerator and make sure that the ice-maker connection was still hooked up to the wall and had not come loose. I could not get this company out of my house fast enough. I would NOT recommend them to ANYONE!!

"He came within a few hours of calling. Very professional and fast. Found the problem, gave a quote to repair. We decided the washer was too old to repair but will definitely use him again.

Small appliance repair

Small appliances play a big role in our daily lives. When shopping for microwave ovens, vacuums, toasters, mixers and more, choose appliances that fit your need and budget. When it comes to repairs, compare the cost of fixing to the cost of replacing the item.

Buy water-based paints with low volatile organic compound levels (VOC). Basically, the less glossy the paint, the fewer VOCs it contains.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

is a really nice guy. This was a big job. He did the work for a very good price. City of
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
stopped the work for permits so it took a long time. I realize
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
was trying to save money by not getting the permits and initially permits were not needed until rules changed. In the end the work created a beautiful house and

was instrumental in getting the full value of the house with the remodel.
I was surprised to hear that we did not have permits when he had said we did. Also a few things were not finished. In the end everything worked out. The city approved everything and insulation was put in behind the basement wall, and the toilet pump for basement was repaired. It was a good remodel for a relatively good price.

had also done a radon test when I purchased the house. I was told the test was not done correctly and had to have it redone.

It is harder to get through now- that is the problem. They get everything done on a timely manner and if it is something that needs to be replaced and you want to upgrade it, they will give you a cash out. Other companies don't do that- that's how I got my new air conditioner, they cashed it out. It was really wonderful -they have saved me about 15.000$. I have recommended them to other people before.

Tech diagnosed problem, took $100 cash deposit, ordered part and returned the next day and completed repairs. Was quoted approximately $250 total for the job. When job was completed he told me it was $252.xx and I gave him that amount (also in cash) plus a tip. He left before filling out my copy of the receipt. He also left his gloves here. I have given up calling him to get him to return...... Either I'm out $100 or the cost was $100 more than quoted. I'd REALLY like to know.

Our

went out late in the evening. Called
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
early in the morning and within 20 minutes the Technician arrived. He was very professional, had all the parts available in his van, found the problem, did some cleaning of spills we created, and replaced the part which had died. I would highly recommend this service provider to anyone with an appliance problem.

They claimed that our house electric voltage was spiking and damaged the furnace. They did a trick with their voltage meter to pretend that the voltage was constantly changing. The technician called himself "
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
". He called a man at the office and put him on the speakerphone. He was part of the hoax, too. They refused to honor our warranty.
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
said the circuit board was burnt out and he wanted $1,000 to replace it. We were very suspicious and asked them to leave. The house electric was tested after they left. The voltage meter read a constant 120 volts! There was nothing wrong with our house electric! Furthermore, there was nothing wrong with the circuit board. The ignitor was replaced and the furnace now runs fine! It was a $41 part!

They inspected my
Battle Ground Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
& didn't find the problem early in December. The issue didn't present while they were here of course. When it occurred later, they responded immediately. They applied the service call charge to the cost to repair my oven. I was impressed at their friendliness and professionalism! My oven was fixed in no time. They answered all my curiosity questions with patience and clarity. Other appliance repair services have cost over twice what they charge! I will never use another appliance repair service no matter what the appliance - even if I had to wait!

Unfortunately, the microwave is 20 years old and parts are not available. I had to pay the required service fee which I was advised of ahead of time. When I requested the visit, the person on the phone was friendly and professional. Due to my work schedule, they added me on to the end of the day in order to provide me same day service.
The technician did "rig" the microwave so I could still use it while I shop for a new one.
The technician was professional, prompt, and friendly. He used a mat at the front door and wore "booties" to keep the house clean. I will use them again for large or small appliances.

I have used this company one time a few months prior back to fix my refrigerator. They fixed it and then it failed again. They came back immediately and fixed it one more time and since then my refrigerator has been working well. As for my dryer, I had a different technician come and fix my dryer but from the same company. He was very nice and professional, did everything in a timely manner but the price was a bit much. I'm writing this review because of what happened the other day.
I received a text message from my bank stating that someone has used my credit card and made 2 unauthorized charges. I was still in possession of the card (it was home in my safe) and I never use the card. The only company I have every used that card for was two times with this company. The card was a newly issued card at the time that I only use in dire emergencies. Both incidents were when I used them. This company took my credit card information and sold it to someone else. I use a credit card when someone performs a service because if they do the job wrong and refuse to come back and fix it, I can call the credit card company and dispute the charge and they will not be paid (I avoid going to small claims court by doing this). These 2 transactions were the only transactions that I have ever used this card for. As a former officer who worked in the credit card fraud unit/ major case unit, I would advise you to stay away from a shady company like this. As for the service they provided, it was fair and I was satisfied.
