"An
tank was installed when I purchased my home and I have used them for a year. People have always been friendly; somewhat timely on deliveries" (always within 10 days even in the coldest part of winter) but with obscene pricing. For example, I just called for a propane fill and the price was about 2.5 times the
price. They have tried selling a "plan" price to me in the past and with the price of oil, I risked it. For example, the
price today is $0.87 a
. They want to charge me $1.99 a
. Today, I went with an alternative supplier at less than half of the cost.
also charges for everything including picking up their own tank. In summary, very reliable, friendly and very expensive.

"We decided to purchase our own propane tank to allow us flexibility in choosing our propane provider, so
was recommended to us. We went" to their showroom, where
explained everything to us and even stayed after hours to get everything lined up for our install. We had the tank installed and all lines run for a hot water heater and
and also had an extra line installed in case we decided to hook up a gas grill on the patio. They were very responsive and worked well with our contractor in getting the job completed on a tight schedule. They also gave us a very good price on propane. Definitely a great company to work with - highly recommended!

We have used SS for several years now and were lured away by the lower prices of Thrifty. Well after running out of propane several times last winter (see my Thrifty review) we switched back to a local company with real people who care about you and your business. SS's prices are good but not the best but you are getting excellent service for that extra bit and on a cold January night you are glad you did!

I was constructing an additional to a house and I thought I was buying the underground tank from

. After charge above

I will have to pay 2 k and a $300 early termination fee to get out the contract.

My account is marked not to deliver on a regular basis, they are supposed to wait for me to request the tanks be filled.Of course, as they always do, they just refilled me when they were in the area and left a bill that is due in 30 days. They filled both tanks and the bill was about $600. That is the reason that I asked NOT to be refilled at their whim. I do not have $600 to pay them, I am on a very strict budget and cannot afford $600 whenever
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
feels like charging me. When I got home and saw the notice, I immediately called the office to which I spoke to a very snotty "customer service rep", all of them are so rude.I guess there is no manager, because they are NEVER available to come to the phone. The rep told me that I was stuck with the bill because the tank had been filled. I reminded her that I did not ask for it, further more I asked them specifically NOT to fill the tanks. This is not a one time thing, this is ever since Suburban took over, they ruined what United Propane had going. So I was stuck with a bill for something that I did not ask for. Now, my service is disrupted because I did not pay the full amount.Despite my several calls to the office to plead for extensions and such--matter of fact, they don't even have those calls noted and said I never called. This is disgraceful and I will post on every consumer website I have access to until the tanks are removed from my property free of charge.

Everything went perfect. The installation had to be done in installments to get through the inspection processes and to coordinate with the work of the generator installer. The
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
crew arrived promptly as scheduled each time, and I was pleased with the professionalism of the crew and the quality of their work. I can't site any negatives with my relationship with them. I did not assign a rating to price because I didn't get any comparative bids.

Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, sales manager for Wake Forest store, had previously come to our house and discussed installation with us. Based on that information (picking a site that was not so far from the house so that loss of pressure would be an issue and a site that avoided irrigation, septic and water lines), we chose a site that
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
approved.
When the installation men came, they disagreed with the choice, saying the line from the truck would not reach the site.(This had been discussed with
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, who had said this wouldn't be a problem) Installation men said pressure would not be an issue because they would use two valves, one at the tank and one at the house, so there would be no pressure problems. This was in direct contradiction to what
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
had said.
We agreed to proceed with the changed site. The installation men said they were unfamiliar with the particular back hoe they were using and said they thought the bucket was going up, but it went down instead. Consequently the cap and the cylindrical piece that sits on top of the tank, covering the controls, were crushed.
Then they used the back hoe and hit the water main and kinked it .(My husband had already said he wasn't sure exactly where the water main was but the workers went ahead).
Because the site the installation men suggested was near water and irrigation lines, my husband stayed with them and requested hand-digging. My husband hand dug at least 40 feet. When he went in the house momentarily, the men decided to use their ditch witch without checking with my husband. They cut through two pvc pipes and wiring for our irrigation system. Subsequently one of the workers decided to cut the pvc pipe more to get it back to non-crushed area and, using a sabre saw, cut through more wires. My husband had to firmly tell him to stop before more wires were cut.
Because it was in the middle of the summer it took 2 weeks before we could get irrigation repair people out. In the meantime we had to hand or sprinkler water half acre of plantings. Total repairs for both came to $358. We emailed
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
Hall the district sales manager requesting their mitigating the damages on our property
In the interim we have contacted
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
several times as well as one of the men who came to our property.
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
agreed verbally to pay the plumber charges and half of the irrigation repair. (They typically do not pay for irrigation repair) We have asked at least three times that this be put in writing either through email or through a new invoice that reflects this credit and have been told they would do that. We have also said we want to schedule for them to finish the work (we still have two crushed tank pieces they need to replace) once we get something in writing. We have as of today received nothing in writing and have not been contacted to schedule completion of the work.
I think any company can make a mistake. What I think differentiates good customer service from bad is the willingness to acknowledge the mistake, be accountable and prompt in addressing the problem. I am hopeful that
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
will fix the problems. Once they do, I will revise my review. But at this point I am tired of contacting them and their not following through.

This was the WORST customer service of my life. First we spoke on the phone with
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
to see if they could provide the service we needed. "
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
" said yes, no problem, get the orifices our grill needed, bring in the grill or orifices in, and he would drill them for us. His fee was $50/ per hour if we brought the grill in (which we were happy to pay) or $10 per orifice. We loaded up and brought in our grill in no less than 3 times. The "employee"
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, who seems to have attendance problems as he wasn't there the other three times we went despite being told he was there on Friday-Sunday. Finally, we were able to talk with
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
in person and he said he wouldn't work on our grill because it had been used. "He didn't buy this business to get all greasy." He was extremely rude and abrupt. Apparently $50 an hour isn't enough to provide customers the service he said that he would. As a business owner, he should know how to speak to people. At the rate of $50/hour, I should think a little grease is a small sacrifice. With this kinda service and attitude, I should think
Winchester Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
won't have to worry about getting greasy for much longer in the future
