"We used DPS for a few projects at our previous house. We were very impressed with the quality and their professionalism. That's why it seemed like a no brainer to call them for updates in our new house.
I called DPS in early September for an estimate to fix some drywall in the foyer from an air conditioning leak. We also wanted to do custom work to build a bookshelf and close off a bedroom to turn it into a closet. The estimators showed up on time and were very professional. One of them sent me an email with an estimate for one of the projects and we discussed some ideas over the phone for the other project. A few weeks later we were ready to start the project. I sent DPS an email to get a written estimate with the scope of work and price we discussed. A week and a half later, I did not hear anything back. My husband and I have a

where we do not chase down contractors to give them our money. But, I broke that

and called DPS due to our previous experience with them. I left a message to call me at my work number. Two days later, the estimator left a message on another phone and apologized and said he had been busy. I called back and left another message. Nobody called back. I left two more messages. In my final message, I told the receptionist I would appreciate a call back to say they don't want to do the work. She promised someone would call back by the end of the day. That was a few weeks ago.

"First gutter (5" wide) was hung at too steep of an angle and did not match the 6" wide gutter on the rest of the house. Pointed it out to project lead, gutter was replaced with correct size. Was charged additional $$ for gutter end caps and hangers. Gutter looks loose. All bricks on chimney shoulders were removed, mortar added and bricks replaced. Garage - Time to finish took nine days. Humid weather did not allow mud to dry properly and delayed project. Project lead did not communicate this issue. garage sat empty for three days. Painting the Sheetrock required 9

of paint.. Garage still smells like wet paint. Some paint is bubbling and just peels off when sanded. No sealing or primer was applied prior to painting. Had to direct painters to wrap garage door openers in plastic prior to painting All sockets and switches were painted, should have wrapped.

"They were very quick and efficient. They did the job and left without any problems. The person that came requested a personal check to be written out in his name rather than to the company."

Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
till the end, he returned calls quickly, kept me updated and stayed within budget (when the issue arose with the bathtub, that did add a little, but he was up front)
He is very detail oriented throughout to make sure that things were exactly right and how I wanted them.
He communicated with me regarding what was going to be done and when. The whole job was complete within a week.

"This is a husband and wife team. Their price was very reasonable and quality was very good. They had said it would take about two days to complete the work and it did. They came in on time. They laid out drop cloths everywhere. That was important to us. We have Brazilian cherry floors that would show any drywall dust very easily especially in the joints where it is extremely difficult to clean. They controlled the drywall dust by one partner holding a vacuum cleaner while the other sanded. They completed on time and cleaned up very well after them."

"I contacted MHI via the Angie's list quick contact feature Thursday morning and received a response from
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
a short time later (within an hour). He came to the house later that morning to examine our situation (water damaged drywall in the basement that needed repair). He made the suggestion to install a new type of access panel ( we had a home made one that had become damaged for the main cutoff and clean-out and for the pressure reduction valve, we had just had an opening in the drywall). He described the repair that they would perform including matching the existing paint and gave me a total price for labor and materials and told me they could start the next morning.

The next morning, they showed up on time and spread tarps on the floor from the door to the site of the repair and downstairs to keep the place clean. They got to work right away. After repairing the drywall with a fast drying compound, they used a heat gun to speed the drying and prepare for finishing and painting. The work was done on-time, as agreed, and the result was even better looking, with the new flush access panels and paint, than I expected.

I took pictures before, during and after the repair. Maybe there is some way to attach these.

"Problem with the project started when his subcontractor who did the tile work in upstairs bath and did not put in the toilet's plumbing (I do not know who installed the toilet as this was based on Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
's words) properly and the toilet leaked all the way down to the basement. The water damaged the ceiling in my family room, hard wood floor extended to the kitchen area, and ceiling tiles in the basement. Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
said the damaged wood floor can be fixed by sanding and staining to get rid of the water damage. After sanding/staining the floor 3 times, the floor looks horrible with splotchy spots and lines from uneven sanding in the wood. His workers have thrown things out from my house while painting the interior that he had to replace and damages done to my house while working on my house. As the cost ran up for renting sanding machine 3 x and stains, Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
refused to go through his insurance company to pay for the damages to my hard wood floors. After some attempt at doing plumbing in masterbath, Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
was unable to figure out how Kholer faucets are to put together and he went to Craigslist to find plumbers. The plumbers he hired from craigslist then cracked my tub in 3 places and burned it that it will now need to be replaced. I have pleaded with Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
saying that a couple of his workers were (

and
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
) not doing a good job and damaging things in my house and requested him to send someone else instead, but Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
ignored my plead and continued using the same individuals which resulted in unsatisfactory work. This
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
me to doubt his claim for having 20 employees working for him. Over the last week of June, he gave one excuse or another about getting my master bath done and demanded that I pay him $5000 progress payment or I'm on my own. Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
told me that I will need to purchase a tub as he is strap for cash and is going on a weeklong beach vacation at
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
City. He came to my house on Monday 6/27 to take out the vanity that he installed with dents and defects to have it exchanged at Home Depot (I paid $2000 for 2 vanities and did not want to accept damaged goods) and when he returned the vanity he asked me to go purchase another one as he only got a 99 dollar refund for the clearance item. I told him I paid him a lot of money for the vanity and can’t pay double for something I already paid. He didn’t get a replacement vanity for my basement vanity/mirror and took all the faucet and plumbing with him. On 6/28 he said he’s coming over to my house at 6pm and I thought he was coming to replace the basement vanity but instead I got message that he’s compiling receipts and demanding for $5000 progress payment. I called him back saying that he doesn’t need to come to talk to me about the receipts as it was getting late and past 7pm. Furthermore, I told him that I can't give him anymore money until my project is done (I owe a little over 6k remaining upon completion) and in addition to the master bath vanity and tile work, he needs to replace my damaged hard wood floor and replace my tub and damaged windows and poor work on my deck (not to mention the vanity he took out from my basement bathroom). In a raised and mean
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
of voice, Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
then threatened me to put a
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
on my house if I don't give him the $5000 when he arrives. I felt threatened and told him
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t come or I’ll call the police after consulting with my neighbor. Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
still showed up at my door and demanded $5000. I repeated what I said and told him not to come back or I will call the police. I consulted with fairviewinspections (where I found
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
's #) and they recommended that I look up his license in DPOR. I found out he's a class C contractor who's not allowed to do more than 10k on any given project. I am now left with multiple damages inside and outside of my house that will require a lot of money to repair and replace. The paint job they did was poor and has multiple nail pops and the leaking ceiling drywall that they patched up now has a brown spot with mold growing which I
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t know what to do with it. I have obtained a couple of estimate for the damaged wood floors, redo the family room ceiling with the mold stain and spot, repairs for the poor plumbing work, replacing the tub, vanity, and finishing the master bath will cost well over 13k. This is not counting on the windows that will need to be replaced and repairing the flashings around the window frame due to Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’s workers’ poor craftsmanship, the sidings are damaged. The deck wood replaced/painted by Mr.
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
also is splitting and not painted completely and will require replacement. I strongly discourage anyone to use this dishonest contractor.

"They were fantastic. He came the same day that I called to do the estimate. He was in the house two or three days later fixing things. It was just him, there were no other workers. The price was reasonable for all the work that he did. He was pretty much on time, actually a few minutes early. I have recommended them to my parents."

"We are extremely satisfied with the finished product. I monitored the reviews for
Sterling Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
for months before calling to schedule. I am glad I called this company. When you are having an entire ceiling replaced you do not want lumps and bumps that will show through paint. Our new ceiling is beautifully smooth! They even used some of their extra mud to patch and sand an area on the wall where some old paint had chipped away. We did not ask them to do this but I was very pleased to see it! The price was very good for the work performed and the insulation that was added."
