Business Description: When Mom and Dad need help, Buckley's is there for them and for you. Buckley's is the "Good Company" Company! Our Senior Helpers are stay-at-home moms and recent retirees who are smart and savvy and ready to help you and your loved ones! Whether you just need to get to Mom or Dad to an appointment every now and then, or you want regular help with their to-do list and outings, we can be of assistance. We serve Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, and Eastern Loudon Counties in Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia and Montgomery County in Maryland. All of our staff members are employees, not contractors, and are college-educated. Several have advanced degrees and all enjoy the company of seniors and take great pride in what they do. They will work with you to provide the best possible (non-medical) care for your loved ones. Our staff members use their own insured vehicles for their work and additional insurance is provided by the company. We are licensed and bonded and all staff members have had background checks and driving record checks. We have only a one-hour minimum and no contract is required to use our services. Billing is usually done via a credit or debit card kept on file (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). To arrange for service, a 48-hour notice is most appreciated but we make every effort to fill every request for service, regardless of the timing. Rates for companion services are $55/per hour with a one-hour minimum, no contract. Time billed after the first hour will be rounded to the nearest quarter hour. We do not charge for travel time to and from a client, however, in order to continue being able to provide superior staff members and service, a nominal gas surcharge will be applied of $1 for every 3 miles traveled with or for the client. All gas surcharges will be used to reimburse the staff members directly and in full for gas expenses incurred during the service call. Buckley Fricker, President of Buckley's for Seniors, is a certified Geriatric Care Manager and a member of The National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Rates for Geriatric Care Management are $110 per hour, billed by the quarter hour, $30 per hour travel fee. In home Notary Services are available for $5 plus a $60 travel fee. Rates for rides home after medical procedures requiring anesthesia (colonoscopy/endoscopy/eye surgeries/cosmetic surgeries, etc.) are $49/per hour plus gas ($1 for every 3 miles traveled with client). We are happy to pick up a prescription on the way home.

Excluded Services: We are not able to provide transportation to wheelchair-bound clients, however, we can place wheelchairs (and walkers) in our car trunks if a client can lift and transfer. We do not do any hands-on help (dressing, grooming, assistance with toileting, lifting/transferring, etc.) and generally do not clean or cook. However, we are happy to offer an arm going up and down steps and curbs or while strolling through a store or the mall. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A SENIOR TO USE OUR SERVICES!
