Palmyra Window Replacement Articles
2. Some people in neighborhood had windows replaced by We went to see their windows and discussed their experience. The windows & installation looked good, felt solid, and the people were very happy with their experience with Standish.

4. I did some research on Home Guard windows. They don't seem to be a very well known window maker, but everything I could find out about them was positive, unlike many other brands for which complaints are very easy to find.
5. Standish was able to get the windows and schedule installation within about 7 weeks of the time we placed the order. The installation was actually a few days ahead of the originally scheduled date.

7. The windows and screens look at lot better than what we had, As it has only been a few days, we don't really have a feel for the energy efficiency benefits, but we immediately noticed two benefits. The low emissivity glass seems to take some of the
8. We have other windows and doors in the house on our list to replace. We are likely to go with
The only caveat I would offer is that we haven't had the windows very long. We'll have a better feel for the quality of the windows and the installation in the coming months and years.
When the doors were shipped, we set up a time for installation. The guys who came out were great. They explained all the steps they would take. They took out the frame, mounted everything needed, repainted, and caulked, installed new door handles and locks. They went over how the new storm doors worked (raising and lowering screens, keeping the doors in an open position, etc. and gave me an instruction sheet for care and troubleshooting). They cleaned up after themselves and hauled away all the debris.
My new front door looks great and both the storm doors work like champs. Definitely recommend.
When I told him I had already purchased the Jeld door he seemed disinterested.
Never received a quote since I never heard back from him
First of all, never showed up the first time I was scheduled to meet.
Next time, they were next door and said they wrote down wrong address.
Once quoted, they were really. to interested and they don't usually install doors that were purchased somewhere else. In fact, he said this. But then said, we'll do it for $1200. In other words, they act like they're doing me a favor by jacking up the price.
The sales rep quoted us a price, and shockingly, it's what everything actually ended up costing us in the end. No bait and switch. The estimator came out to measure everything and the owner came with him. The owner promised an installation date and the windows were installed on the date promised.
On the day of the installation, a crew of 6 people showed up and had all of the old windows doors out and the new windows installed in just a few hours. We have wood shutters and wood trim around all of our windows and nothing was damaged when removing the old windows and installing the new ones. The crew left everything clean.
The windows and sliding door look great. It makes such a difference with filtering the sunlight and outdoor noise.
We are very pleased with the entire process and the finished result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
The initial visit was informational and low-pressure - very appreciated after having one estimate that was like having a used car salesman in our house. Once we decided to use them, they made another visit to do precise measurements for ordering. Once the windows came in, they called me and we scheduled the installation. I left for the day while they worked. When I came back, the lead installer gave me precautions about the caulking still being wet and also demonstrated all the features of the window for me.
There was no dust and they did a great job cleaning up. We have a baby, so lead containment/remediation was particularly important to us! The windows upstairs tested positive, and they took great precaution in ensuring that dust did not enter the house.
I hate to downgrade for responsiveness/communication, but it has to be done. First, I had to make two phone calls to get someone to come out to do an estimate. Secondly, I had a question which I emailed, and the person who responded tried to answer but did not have my project information in front of them, so she wasn't really able to answer the question. She should have waited until she had my information in front of her. And finally, during the project, the lead installer told me a time that they would likely be done - that time came and went without a call, so I called the office and asked for his number. I'm terrible with names and couldn't remember the person who was there. The person who answered the phone should have looked up who was working on my house, but did not, and connected me with the wrong person. Ultimately, all of these were minor, but this is why I did not give them an A for responsiveness.
The windows are wonderful! We are so happy to have windows that open and close easily. We are looking forward to the reduced energy costs this winter and not being frozen out of our basement. The previous owner had replaced some, but not all of the windows, and it is readily apparent that these windows are of much nicer quality than the ones that the previous owner replaced. While windows are not the sexiest home improvement, I am SO glad that we did our windows and chose WoW for this project.
I don't know if this is due to the fact that we were looking for something pretty budget-friendly. I just thought it was strange that the "educational window company" really didn't want to tell me about any other windows. We went with another company and were quite satisfied.
We think we're the best, and we can prove it.
