"
came out on a Saturday because he knew we were having issues with our clothes dryer. After checking several possible problem areas he could" not find any clog. We determined that it is an issue with the dryer and not the vent. Since he could not fix the problem, no fault of his own, he did not want to charge us for his service call. It has been a very long time since I have dealt with someone of his professionalism , honesty and just plain decency. I will never use any other company for this kind of work. He has our business for life!

"My
that snakes through the ceiling has become dislodged. In fixing it, Dryer Wizard discovered that the previous supplier (also an Angies" List supplier but now apparently out of service) had left in the old, plastic venting. This was a problem since that old tubing is no longer up to code. It is a fire hazard if used with a newer,
dryer like we have. They replaced the old piece, securley installed the new one, and made sure that it vented properly from beginning to end. I was very satisfied with the quality of work and level of professionalism.

Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

Your right, HVAC companies are really not much help at all in regard to getting all the rooms and floors the same temperature, and airflow.  It's not their focus or their expertise. They repair and sell hardware.  I had the same exact problem here in Central Florida.  I had rooms that were to hot in the summer and the same ones were to cold in the colder months.  I have a 2 story 2800 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms.  I did a lot of research, and I tried to fix it myself, but in reality I made it worse.  I finally found a company here in the Central Florida area called AirFlowBalance, LLC.  Their web site is AirFlowBalance.com.  This company is not an HVAC dealer or repairer.  Their sole focus is to balance the airflow and temperature in a home by using a nonevasive proprietary process, with patented devices. Now, when I set my thermometer at 75 degrees, every room is 75 degrees.  I no longer have to bump up or down the temp from room to room.  No more thermostat wars with my family!  Also, I was very supprised at how affordable it was and the whole job was done under 3 hours.  They also have an online estimate page on their web site.  I hope this helps, and I am not sure if they have an office in AZ.

if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

They did come out on a Saturday, so they received points, however, a couple of things happened during the cleaning. They tried to upcharge me with the cleaning of the front of the dryer. This was not mentioned to me with my phone call to them. Next, they actually broke my outside dryer vent attachment. They did not replace this for free, but told me that they would give me a deal and sell me the new better vent attachment for at cost of $50 from their usual cost of $89. I looked up this piece at Menards and it's a whopping $8.99. Basically, I feel kinda ripped off and they should have replaced it for free.

What a wonderful experience!
Locust Grove Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Provider Name Locked
came to our home, listened to what I wanted done, made his observations and suggested a new vent on roof to be installed. Initially, all I wanted was a new roof vent. The existing vent was not a proper dryer vent but was a bathroom vent installed when the house was built in 1992.

suggested that a new vent be installed with a better routing of the vent tubing. I agreed. He went straight to work. Removed the old tubing and left the old vent in place which now acts as a vent for the attic. He quickly drilled the appropriate sized hole in the roof, installed an appropriate dryer vent and routed new tubing. Once that work was complete, he came into the house, cleaned the tubing in the wall and cleaned the dryer and lint filter and reconnected the dryer vent with new hose. Then he spent time giving me some excellent advise and instruction on how to maintain the dryer for better performance. All of this in the space of 2 hours and 15 minutes and at a price that just didn't seem like enough for all the work he did. Top all of this off with the fact that

is very personable and is the kind of "old school" contractor that takes pride in the work he does. I will have him back in my home when it's time for a dryer vent cleaning.

I used
Locust Grove Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Provider Name Locked
last year and was very pleased with the service. When my dryer started with prolonged drying time, generally indicitive of clogged vents, I was able to look on the magnetic card he placed on my dryer with the last service date which also has his number. It was exactly one year, which is the recommended frequency of cleaning out one's vents. I called and

was able to accomodate my schedule quickly (two days later) as I was going out of town. He called the day of the appointment and asked if he could come 20 minutes early, which was great for my schedule. Once here, he worked quickly and efficiently. He always lets you know when he is about to operate the loud vacuum. He was done in no time and my dry is back to normal. I will be using this service for my annual vent cleaning in the future.

he did an excellent job, was punctual, acted very professional and offered advice for maintenance. he also did me an extra favor by cutting the vent hose shorter to make the dryer fit in its space better, something we discussed beforehand and he asked me if i would prefer it that way before doing it. i will definitely hire him again next time i need his service.

I am sad to have to write a negative review as this is the first one I've had in all my time on Angie's list. That said, though I hired this provider because of his positive reviews, that was not my experience at all. I haven't had any problems with my dryer or performance, but know that I'm supposed to clean my dryer vent every couple years so I scheduled the maintenance.
Locust Grove Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Provider Name Locked
arrived in the time he stated and got to work. I stated that I work from home and was on a phone meeting. He didn't make any effort to be quieter in his work. He stated that my vent was bent and needed to be replaced. I approved that fix and asked if my dryer would still fit in the laundry closet with the changes he was making to where the dryer sat and he stated it would. I also stated that I had just paid to have the washer and dryer leveled after installing new tile and asked that he place them back where they were for balance.
However, when he finished, he didn't return the washer and dryer to where they were causing two issues: 1 - I'll have to hire someone to again make sure that the doors of the washer and dryer can open and close because the appliances are too heavy for me to move and he moved each of them (they have to be i the middle, not to the left or right side...) 2) He scraped the entire front of my dryer door and part of my washer door because the bifold closet door couldn't close. This happened as I was standing there and I was obviously upset with the damage, but he didn't apologize for causing it. He told me whomever installed the doors "was an idiot" for not putting them further out. However, I didn't have any problem with the doors over the past two years prior to his work and moving the appliances. After the damage, he pushed them back, so the doors didn't scrape, but they still aren't where they need to be for me to do my laundry without taking the bifold door off one side of each time, or paying someone else to fix it again.
Lastly, I always tip (in this case 20%) over the amount of the service because I value the time of the providers and know they work hard. I'm generally thanked for my business and often the gratuity as well. In this case, he seemed rude and rushed and didn't thank me for either.
Everyone has a bad day, and maybe that was the case here - there are obviously a lot of happy customers reviews. That said, I won't be using his service again and if someone had this experience in my business, I'd really want to feedback so I could keep from repeating it.

They didn?t even have my information when I called them and they sounded very unprofessional over the phone. It was hard to get a hold of them and when I went to cancel the service they didn't even have me scheduled for the appointment that I had made.

The provider did a great job. He explained what and how he would perform the work and how it was necessary to repair the back of the vent going into the dryer. I would use this provider again in the future.
