Landscaping reviews in Hampton

They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and they are excellent!
They installed plants, mulch and brown river stone on the front yard and removed shrubs.
They pruned wax

hedges, and installed brown river stone. Removed weeds from planter boxes and installed plants and mulch.
The biggest job was the installation of Synthetic lawn in side yard.
The whole job took 4 and 1/2 days. It was major work.

I contacted
Hampton Landscapers Provider Name Locked
to get an estimate on landscaping that I wanted done in the front and back yards. They came out and talked to us but never contacted us again.
I was very disappointed because they did our landscaping 20 years ago when the house was built.

They offer fair prices and they do what they are told to do. They have also worked for my clients for putting pavers, outdoor landscape, outdoor still and outdoor door areas. They have very clean products and people are courteous. Their prices are reasonable. They do just beautiful and very nice work. They are very responsive.

They were very knowledgeable about what plants and flowers would go in the what areas in my front yard. It didn't take long to get them to come out and they did the job rather quickly. My yard looks so much better now that the work is done.

I was very happy with the work that was done in my back yard. The initial price was lower than the price that I actually ended up paying. The quality of work was worth the additional amount. They did clean the area before they left, if needed I would use them again. I would recommend them to others.

They did an excellent job on the fish pond. I was very impressed with how it turned out. It's stocked with plenty of fish. They didn t tear up the surrounding yard at all. The service guy was very nice. I compared prices with several companies and he cost half of what everyone else wanted, and he still did very high quality work.

run a well organized family business that does seem to care what their customers think. The whole job was completed in one day and the driveway and sidewalks were swept and hosed down. They called a few months later to check on my satisfaction. I was honest about having the best looking lawn in the whole neighborhood.

I called around to find the best quote and they gave me the best one. They stuck to the price and for what was done I felt it was right. The shrubs look great and in bloom. This job took a day from start to finish.

Provider was a no show. Called him at 10:30 AM and provider said he thought it was for a different day. Then he said he recognized me and realized he had put appointment on the wrong day. He asked if he could come out later in the afternoon. I said I would be there and he came. He assessed my lawn, told me how he would regrade the lawn for the front (2 ways) and back (1 way). We discussed products that would be needed (dirt, gravel and possibly sand). I let hem know that the top gravel needed to be like river rock as I have a service dog and the gravel he wanted to use would cut the pads of my service dog as well as visitors' dogs. He said he would email everything to me.
I subsequently went on vacation and then had personal issues that had to be addressed. During this time I had no follow-up (by phone or email) from this provider. I finally called him on 8/4/2013. He said he had called me and left messages; however, I did not have any record of calls or voicemail messages from him. It turns out, he didn't use the number I had provided him through Angie's List (the same number he used to call me in May and June). Instead, he somehow found my private phone number, a number I do not give out. Sure enough there were messages from him there on my answering machine. (It's interesting that he initially used the number from Angie's list to leave me a message as to when he would be in the

area to do evaluations and estimates.) I told him not to use this number. He asked for my email address (which he should have gotten from Angie's List) and I gave it to him.
On 8/5/2013 I received his list of products needed and their cost but no conceptual plan or drawing showing what he planned to do. The total cost was $6,190.00 and he said he would give me a $50 credit. According to his Angie's List Big Deal ad, the discount is supposed to be 10%. That means my discount (credit) should have been $619.00.
Due to his initial delay and then causing further delays by using a number he was never given (I still don't know how he got my private line) and not giving me the correct discount, I will not be using this provider. Instead, I will check through Angie's List for landscapers and also check with my neighbors to find someone to regrade my lawn.

On Angie's List C = FAIR...and that's what they were...fair. I am pleased with the end product but what a nightmare it was to get there so please read the full review and then decide whether or not it is a fair one...

I want to first start with the positive...the work crew that showed up to do the work was spot on. They did great work, were extremely friendly, and cleaned the job site up very well.

Now for the negative...if there is is a weak link in the chain it is the owner/sales rep. His communication skills are just not there. If you are the type of person that does not mind being kept up to date or likes to have to chase down your contractor then LCOHR is for you because that is what you will be doing if you sign up. As a matter of fact they were supposed to come and finish turning on my irrigation system 3 weeks ago (because they only turned on half the first time??) and I am still waiting for that to happen...

Hear is the full story...

I called LCOHR in March to get on their schedule for sod install in the spring so I could beat the heat...long story short they didn't get to my job until mid June...mainly due to crazy weather and the sod farm had difficulty with the sod that I wanted...that in itself is understandable but you would think I would get a phone call at some point telling me this...nope...I had to consistently track them down for information and finally we had to go with another type of sod. The day finally comes where they show up to begin the work and all goes well until I come home from work around 4:30pm on a very humid day to find my sod sitting on pallets in the road an it had just rained on them. I call LCOHR and ask what is going on and they proceed to tell me that they have been sitting at another site waiting for the sod (not sure I believe that but give benefit of the doubt) and I explained that all the research that I had done stresses not to leave the sod overnight on the pallets and definitely don't let them get wet...well they did both and the result was the first set of pictures (before). almost have of the sod died off and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The weekend had come and no phone call from LCOHR so again I had to chase them down to ensure they would be coming out that Monday to replace the bad sod...Long story short LCOHR did finally replace the dead spots but the pieces they used had a lot of weeds that come up in them which I had to hand pick out myself over the course of the last 3 weeks. I didn't bother to call and complain about that because at this point I am just over chasing them around. The funny thing is I was still going to give them another

but finally the icing on the cake was I asked them to come back and turn on the rest of my irrigation system and they were going to charge me a $65 service call which I was fine with but guess what?? I have not heard or seen them in 3 weeks and the other half of my irrigation system is still not turned on.

Look at the after picture...as I said I am satisfied with the final result BUT because of the very poor communication I will not and would not recommend this company to a close friend.

If Lawn Care of
