He gave me a quote on removing 2 very large trees. I agreed, he said he would be here on a specific date, that date came and HE CALLED because it was raining. He rescheduled, came out as promissed with a very large staff and he stayed to supervise. Very impressed and do recommend them for large or small.

and Build is a company others should aspire to be like. They set a very high standard and working with them was a genuine pleasure.
The project began with architect drawings and receiving several bids for the job.
stood out in the care they took in understanding the architects and our intent and making thoughtful and helpful suggestions about the construction and construction approach. They also stood out in their absolute commitment to our schedule and executing within budget -- both of which they did.
Because our property abuts a golf course, extensive coordination was required with the
architectural committee and the golf course to ensure drainage and the impacts of any runoff from the new construction was mitigated. This ultimately required two dry wells and perimeter drainage.
and the architect both made themselves available at the convenience of the
Architecture committee and the golf course superintendent and successfully addressed their issues on the first meeting.
Once construction began, the crew was thoroughly professional and conscientious about keeping the site as clean as possible and minimizing the impact on neighbors. The work involved excavating, stone masonry, new electrical and gas lines, masonry walls, installing new irrigation, fire bowls and fire tables, a water feature, and multiple new plantings in the gardens, as well as trees and shrubs. The quality of all this work is absolutely superb.
Most impressive, any questions or concerns we had were immediately addressed by the company president,
made himself available 24/7 by email and phone. Most of my emails were answered within an hour.
made the point in our initial meeting that they were a small company with a highly skilled team and his intent was to keep things that way to ensure the highest quality. In my experience, he has met that goal and then some.

The walls look absolutely fabulous and I will say that was a major improvement. That is the beginning and end of the good things. Deck seal job was horrific. I could see the squirts of sealer - never coated fully - all that for $750. I could have paid high school kids to do it with squirt guns better. Next - They planted a hedge row of 15 trees way to close, and every single one of them died. The trees they planted were (A) sick - had some sort of fungus, (B) the holes they dug were way to shallow, (C) they promised a warranty on the work and reneged, (D) offered to replant the row for $75 MORE per tree. Sealing the driveway - looked great at first. Promised they would fill the cracks. As the seal dried, it was obvoius they never filled ANY crack. Re-set the front walkway. Never pulled up the railroad ties we have to create a grade but said they did. Weeding. Said they set down anti weed tarp - never happened but we were charged for it. We went to local gardening shops this weekend and bought all new trees to plant ourselves. Asked for best advice, and found that

followed NONE of the basic have-to's for tree planting. My husband pulled the dead trees today (4-3-2011) and found EVERY ONE OF THEM planted in a shallow hole - no more than 9 in or so. All the hedge row trees, new, planted by

, were over 6 ft.

never put new soil into the clay we have, nor tried to break any of the existing clay down to let the trees take root. Important to note - WE had already planted 5 trees 1 year earlier and our trees were fine and stable. We knew about the soil condition and told them it needed to be broken down and new soil added. We hired what we thought to be an experienced tree guy to help us save some time. We're busy folks and needed some help. Turns out all we were was an ATM machine to them. We followed up on our research and found that a decorative mulch, in this case large bark chips, are actually toxic to new and established plantings. That is exactly what they put around all our trees, new and established. At this point in time the damage was not attributed to the mulch but to the fungus, but be warned - if the plantings were fungus free they may have died anyway due to the mulch. Tree Experts? HAH! We called after about a month the new hedge row had been planted to state they were dying, and

came out to spray (to the tune of ($1,100 and change) for some blight they stated the trees had- we have no idea. WE were the ones who took a branch sample to our local gardner (Merrifields - by the way - fabulous) to find out that there was no blight, it was some sort of fungus, and to use a copper sulfite/sulfate to

the darn thing. We managed to save one tree, ourselves. Now - if these guys are tree guys, why would they have allowed 14 trees to die. They said they were coming by weekly to check on the new trees, but when my husband brought them out back to see the trees and how far they were gone, they were speechless. Obviously they had never been by to check. Our front garden - to the left is an ornamental plum, to the right an ornamental cherry. We had a flagstone stack wall put in as a retainer. We have a sloping front yard - about a 15 to 20 degree slope - enough to need something there.

did do that, and I do have to say it does look really good...............but not happy that it is loose stacked as opposed to perm. They convinced me that was the way to go. Seems to me, given the above, this was just another excuse to come out to fix/repair. I am sure all of you who are reading this will agree that most of this stuff that
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
did for me is well within your capabilities of doing yourself, as is mine, but the reason we hire people like
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
is we are just to overwhelmed with the days responsibilities and need some help. Please, look for another provider.

will only waste our money and time.

They made a very good design. They were very punctual. They completed their project in a timely manner. The price was affordable and competitive. I have already referred them to someone else.

Excellent performance. Crews arrived, performed contracted work in a very professional manner and cleared the area every day before leaving. The job was completed on schedule at the contracted price. In addition to the work crew, the office manager was readily available for any questions. We will definitely use this contractor again.

My wife and I live on a corner lot with very little privacy. Because of H.O.A. rules, we cannot have a fence over 4 feet high. We knew we wanted to get trees of some sort to plant in our backyard for privacy, but weren't sure what types of trees to get. I searched Google and read some outstanding reviews of
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
and its owner,
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
. Unfortunately, a review had not yet been made on Angie's List. I explained what my wife and I wanted and he said he had some ideas, but needed to see our property. When he came to our house as scheduled, just a few days later, it was very apparent to my wife and I that he was down to earth, honest, and he really cared about our satisfaction. He

bushes, ornamental grass, and steal d'oro daylilies. We loved his landscaping plan and his price was very reasonable. He even offered to draw a sketch on the ploat of our property for our H.O.A. application submission at no extra charge.

and his colleague

did an outstanding job planting the trees and plants in our backyard. Our backyard is so much more aesthetically appealing and we finally have the privacy we've wanted for years. It's only been a week since the landscaping has been completed and we've already received so many complements from our friends and neighbors.
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
has contacted me a couple of times since doing the planting to make sure the plants are doing well and that I'm satisfied.

really knows what he's doing! It's refreshing to deal with a service provider that doesn't just care about making the maximum amount of money, but rather providing outstanding customer service at a very fair price. If you're looking for quality plants at a great price, go to

is awesome and definitely knows her stuff. We have a large maple tree that gets a lot of shade and is a tough area to grow grass. Even if the area did grow grass, it would be a difficult area to mow.
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
suggested an spreading evergreen perennial be planted in that area. Her crew was on time and did an excellent job with everything. The were very neat and polite and left nothing behind but beautiful flower beds around our house and pool. The perennials planted under the large tree are thriving nicely and the area looks so much nicer, not to mention less maintenance and weeds.
We will definitely recommend

to our friends, family and acquaintances and will continue to use them for our own landscaping needs.

The contractor estimated 2.5 days to complete the work and finished the job in 2 days. We were very satisfied with the finished product and would use them in the future.

has improved for 2013, that is for sure. Last year their service was subpar, but they have increased the bar this year. The service and product delivered was excellent. My yard looks great. They did a good job last year, but I think they just over extended themselves which decreased service. But once again they are back and they are great.

When planning the work,
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was very sure of what needed to be done and how to do it. To our delight, they executed everything with prompt professionalism. The extensive demolition was done quickly with no impact on household activities. They were experts in installing terraced walls using Anchor Highland 6" block and installing the patio floor with CST Contempra driveway pavers. We were surprised what they could do with these materials. They turned steep slopes by our walk-out basement and by the garage into attractive terraced landscapes. The design and implementation upgraded the looks of the whole property. I recommend this very creative company to anyone that can use their services! They are terrific!
My suggestions after all the conclusion of this project are as follows:
DO: Use a small firm, like
Gainesville Landscapers Provider Name Locked
, with employees (craftsmen) that have worked at the firm for 10 years.
don't: Use an inside-the-wall drain system (if you can avoid it), installed by a one-product, large firm, with a large advertising budget and lots of salesmen. These companies offer a one-size-fits-all approach to basement water issues. In our case it would not have solved the problems of the existing drainage system.
