because they are a construction supply company (as opposed to a big box hardware retailer) and I wanted quality 2x4s for framing my basement. The gentleman I worked with to purchase the lumber was knowledgeable, friendly, ...more and made it easy to get my order correct. The delivery was correct, the lumber was good quality, and it was done on time. The only workaround needed for DIY people like me working M-F jobs is
is not open on the weekends, but they are open early on weekdays, so you can go in then. "

were great from cradle to grave.
, the owner, came out and met with my wife and I and spent a lot of time going over the options and pricing. He answered any and all of our questions in detail. Once the ...more work started it was completed in 1 day, which i thought was really impressive. I've looked at my neighbors patios who used different companies and the quality just doesn't compare. The craftsmanship is top notch as well as the customer service. Plus, there is a lifetime guarantee on the patio if anything moves, or breaks they will come out to fix it at no cost. You will be happy with their services. "

was professional about the work, demonstrated confidence to commplete the work.
and a one other crew member came to do the work and completed the holes. Once the county inspector came by to inspect the dugged holes to approved the fundation to continue with the concrete and gravel the work was ...more rejected by the county inspector because it didn't meet code.
had claimed he had been in this line of business for years. You would think he would know county "typical deck" requirements. The holes weren't dug at the required depth. That's when it start downhill on excuses on why the holes weren't being dug that deep that codes have changed to pay for a private inspector to certify the holes are being dug correctly. If a contractor is in business in constructing decks they should be up to date with county codes. In this case, this code wasn't new, it has been around for years. After sending e-mails back and forth, amending the original contract to complete the work I decided to fire the guy and end the work. As an adult and owning your own business you should already know other adults see right through childness excuses. I terminated the contract and won't be dealing with this company any more."
Once the project began his employees demonstrated high levels of skill, were always prompt, and available for questions while on-site.
's project manager,
, ALWAYS addressed our inquires most promptly even after the job was finished.
about 5 months after we had settled on our new home and after some very heavy rain storms. This caused our patio to sink about 3 inches in the area closest to the home as well as our deck's stair support post because the ground had not fully settled.
was quick to respond to correct this issue and we have had no problems since they returned to make it right. This problem was not any reflection on the workmanship of
's people but a natural occurrence due to the backfill which did not fully settle after our builder dug it out to pour our foundation.
I would highly recommend
to do any work. They are honest, responsive, and in short good people to work with. I would definitely hire them again to do this project. It is rare to find builders who are personable, honest and skilled, but
, aka Deck Detailers) gave us an estimate on getting and installing a SunSetter awning. The estimate was reasonable, but we wanted the largest motorized awning available, and the cost was out of our range. Even though we'd given
a deposit on the job, when we ...more called and demurred he was very pleasant and voided our check.
A couple of months later Costco had the awning we wanted at $500 off, and they recommended
to do the installation! We went for it, and
installed the awning today, just a few days after Costco had it delivered. He did a great job, again very courteous and professional, and he honored his previous estimate for installation, even though he didn't order the awning himself. He even came back later to make some further adjustmentsthat we were too chicken to do ourselves.
is a very honest and reputable person who we will not hesitate to use in the future."
"They did a great job of fixing the leak, but when they pulled the deck away from the house they realized it was out of code. The only option they gave us was putting on a new deck which we couldn't afford to do. When we sold the house it was one of the things we needed to fix that the inspector found. After a lot of research, we found out that ...more you can pull away boards to fix the problem for a thousand dollars. It would have saved us a lot of headace if they had done it at the time the deck was already pulled away from the house. We felt like we shold have been given all of the options instead of just replacing the deck. They also did not put in flashing against the deck and the house properly where they should have which an inspector found when we were selling."
and his crew were excellent. He sat down with use to custom design a deck that would meet our needs now and in the future. He was patient and his attention to details were unsurpassed. He worked within our budget to design a deck that would be both aesthetically beautiful and functional. His crew (
) were exceptional. The ultimate example of professionalism and thoughtfulness. The crew followed up on all of
's promises and went above and beyond the deck building experience with their attention to details and craftsmanship. They were courteous and timely. I have already recommended DWS to friends and neighbors and would definitely use them again for future needs. Thanks DWS!"
