After purchasing the Angie's List Big Deal of the Day for a 20-point Air Conditioning Tune-up, the company called me within 24 hours of the purchase to schedule the service call. The technician showed up the next day and did an excellent job.
The only negative to the deal was that I was given the opportunity to be put on a yearly service contract for my air-conditioning unit and they provided me with a price for the contract. The negative aspect of it was that I had to decide within minutes if I was interested because once the technician left the service call, the yearly contract price I was given was no longer an option for me. I may have signed a yearly service ontract, however, because I was told I had to decide at that moment or the offer was off the table, I declined their offer but would definitely use them again in the future when needed.

The first time they came was in mid June, and they didn't have a long enough ladder to do the rooftop condenser check that day. So I had to reschedule. They couldn't come again until mid
, so I had to wait a month for the service. The staff were cordial and clean, but the service coupon specifically said check-up and CLEANING. Even though the coils are causing an odor in the vents, I was told after the check-up that the evaporator coils, while probably dirty, weren't "impeding performance" so cleaning couldn't be included. I would have to re-schedule a separate cleaning for $250.00. This seemed like an unfair bait and switch to me. While I wasn't completely unsatisfied with service, (like I said, the technicians were very professional and the office staff were responsive), I would ask for upfront pricing and ask them to candidly indicate any caveats to services they provide so you can make an informed decision.

I called with a need for quick service due to being one of the hottest days of the year and a broken A/C unit. The service person came within 12 hours of our telephone call during what I am sure is an extremely busy time of year. They very quickly repaired the broken component and recommended a few additional items (which were very reasonably priced) without any pressure, but recommended based upon the unit's function.
In short, I thought they did a good job, quickly, and for a fair price overall.

He came on time and the work seems fine. I've had no problems and no complaints. There was a bit of a mix-up with the cost because of a special price but he called his company and got it straightened out quickly. He and his company were very nice and professional about it.

I was actually forced to use
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
because it was connected with my home warranty program, but I am glad I did. My AC unit was leaking bad. It had soaked up some of the carpet in the basement. I called on a Thursday night, left a message. I called again very early Friday and made an appt for the following Monday morning (first available).

, I think that was his name, quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged and improperly installed condensate line (there was no air lock). He quickly unclogged the line and added an air lock to the line. Without any prompting from me, he also checked the unit outside and filled up my freon.
As a new home owner, I wanted to know and see all that was going on and he patiently explained all that he was doing. Great service, on time, fixed right. My only wish is that the could've come earlier but a one business day delay is to be expected.

I had another company come out earlier in the day and they told me I'd need to replace the capacitor for $269.50 and the contactor for $214.

was referred to me by the person who's going to redo my basement, and they came out with extremely short notice.

was at the house to meet me as soon as I got home from work, and he fixed my compressor without replacing any parts! Apparently ants made a home in the electrical and were causing a problem. He blew the area out well with some type of compressed air, and it started up. Their $90 service call saved me a lot of money, and it buys me the time I need to replace my almost 15 to 20 year old HVAC system. I should also point out
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
really took the time to look the system over, and he spent a good amount of time. He found the piece of metal that covers the heat exchange in my furnace was rusting away and leaking carbon monoxide into my basement -- the other company didn't say anything about this or probably even notice it.

Crystal took all my info over the phone to have someone come out. In addition, I wasn't going to be home when they came by because I had to work. They had no problem taking a lockbox code, doing the diagnosis while I wasn't here, contacting me via text on my Google Voice number, etc. It was really easy to setup the appointment, and it was great they were able to fit me in so quickly.

came out to diagnose the issue for me in the afternoon the next day. He was nice enough to inform me I had a leak in my mechanical room in the basement where my HVAC is, which wasn't there the night before. I asked him to turn off the main water valve in the basement for me since it was going to be a couple hours before I came home, and it was very nice of him to do this. Here's my issue and why I gave them low ratings.

This garbage disposal retails for $75. The installation was complete in less than fifteen minutes. I was charged $600. Now, I believe in making a profit, but that is ridiculous! My $500 "nuts and bolts" service plan gets me the typical manufacturers one-year warranty and the typical thirty-day service guarantee.....nothing more. In the future, I will find a plumber who charges less than
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and skips the service plan "shell game."

I originally called
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
to get a price estimate on their heat pumps. I had already had someone to the house that had provided some estimates on a Carrier brand heat pump and was shopping around for other estimates. They wouldn't provide an estimate by phone, but the woman was nice and scheduled me an appointment for the following evening. The salesman called to give me a heads up that he was on his way and arrived timely. It was evident from the start that he only was a salesman and that I was in for a long pitch. I sat through several long sales pitches from window salesman earlier this year and that was not how I wanted to spend my evening. The
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
representative was the third person who had stepped foot in my house to give me an estimate on the system and the first wanting to talk prior to actually seeing the system I had installed and its location. I went with it for awhile. He started off asking my my priorities in what I wanted in a heating and cooling system. I felt like I was being quizzed. It's really not rocket science. Some may want the cheapest system to get them by a year or so until they sell the house, but I thinkmost people would agree that they want a system that provides heat/cool air depending on the season, one that lasts and requires minimal repair, and one at a price they can afford. So we talked about that for awhile and then he went on to say how great the company was and how the most important factor in getting an hvac system is the installation. All of this may have been fine and true, but still we were 20 minutes in and he hadn't asked to see our unit set up. Instead of selling me on the company he was accomplishing the opposite as it was evident he was only a salesman. He didn't need to look at my unit because he was just there to sell me on the company's brand. I asked that all the fluff sales talk be skipped as I wanted to spend time with my children that evening and he didn't seem to appreciative of that. He pulled out a page from his binder with prices and basically said if all you want is price, here it is. I am not looking for just the cheapest offer, but I do want a fair price on a good system and this is why I had called a handful of companies. He priced a

and a Trane product, but told me very little about the units. I think he could sense I wasn't too interested. I actually was very interested in learning more about Trane and
Falls Church HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
, but the prices were much higher than the Carrier units so there didn't seem to be much point in wasting more time. He respected my wishes for him to leave and I appreciate that. Overall he seemed nice enough, but there really was no comparison between having someone come to your house that understands the units and having someone come out to give a sales pitch. This wasn't the right company for me.

He opened up the bottome of the fireplace and knocked on the parts many time. The fireplace started making a noise that wasn't there before his inspection. I noticed that and asked him, he immediately said it was there before he did anything and couldn't fix it. He was suggesting that we might need to replace the electric part and offered to look up for the price of the part and get back to me. To this day, I still haven't heard from him. The fireplace have a new problem after he came in. I do not think he provided any valuable service here. The $99 seems cheap, but given we didn't get any service done and caused a new problem, it is actually very costly.
