Flooring reviews in Falls Church

The planning, flooring choice and coordination for both visits were professional and trouble free. The installers were punctual, respectful and professional. Currently cheduled carpet install for 2

. Some of the best service ever experienced for a very reasonable price. Both times the work was quick...less than a day.

I've contacted both the
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and Costco, since they were the company through which I was working. Resolution will be posted when it happens. This is just the first step. Right now, it appears as a "bait and switch". As soon as the company and/or Costco responds, l will post.

We first went into
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to research different types of flooring that we would like to put in. we've visited the shop on 3 different occasions.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and another sales rep were helpful but not pushy in selling their product.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
came to the house to take some measurements and offered helpful ideas on how to connect the existing flooring with the new. When we were finally ready to purchase,
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
came in with the better pricing.
The installation process took two days to complete. The work was done by subcontractors who work with
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
but not direct
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
staff. On the first day,
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
came and looked at the space. There was a confusion as to who was responsible for prepping one of the areas.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
took care of the issue. The installers were conscientious of our desire on how we wanted the floors to be laid. The workers cleaned up at the end of the day. On the last day, we felt the installers rushed to get the job done. For that reason, we gave them a B on quality. If they had not rushed, the area they were installing would have looked better. They were responsive to feedback and make the changes we've requested, how we wanted the floor to
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, how we want the shoe molding to be connected.
We really appreciated
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's responsiveness. We had some issues with removal of glue and how the threshold connecting the existing tile and new flooring looked.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
sent someone out within few days and made sure we were pleased with the result. On the 2nd day of installation, one of the areas required leveling,
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
sent over one of his guys right away and again resolved the problem right away. Overall we are pleased with our experience and would be happy to recommend
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to others who might need their service.

Very nice job.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
came when he said he would to provide estimate and answered all my follow up questions. Work crews were polite, punctual, experienced, and worked steadily and efficiently. They cleaned up well each day and created almost no dust. Floors look lovely.

We got three quotes and they were all relatively the same.
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was in the middle but because of a referral, we choose them. The overall quality of the product and the service was good. I choose the product and that was delivered so no complaints there but quality of the service could have been better but it was fair.
Overall, we did like the job that was done. The refinished floors look amazing and the color matching was done very well. The new floors look good but I thought the guys would atleast try and flatten or level the floor before installing the new floor. There are so many ups and
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and bumps everywhere. Not to mention creaks and noises when walking on the floor with the new hardwood. We weren't expecting that at all.

The guys did a great job cleaning, but still it is very dusty on the walls and in the window sills. I'm not sure why we were told to get the painting done before the floors. That seemed like bad advice and our painter warned us that was a bad decision, but we really wanted to follow
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's advice. Also, the guys left so many hand prints on the walls, both of dirty hands and of the refinishing paint. We have to ask the painter to either clean or repaint those areas. Workers did come back to fix and paint things and they only painted the floor boards, not the walls. But the walls were dirtied by the
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
workers. My painter repainted some areas, I repainted some, and I've found a couple more places. Regarding dust from the refinishing, they were very clean but there was a thin
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
of dust on the walls about 3 ft up to the floor boards.

It was so hard to communicate with the guys working as no one spoke English except for the Project Manager. But he wasn't there all the time. And anyway, he does not speak English very well. Plus, he has a very bad attitude. When I first met him and saw his demeanor, I offered to buy the crew breakfast and that helped his attitude throughout the job, but still he was not very easy to work with throughout the course of the job. Also, when he came back for the punchlist items to fix everything, he denied every single thing as being an issue. I did not have the time to argue with him, so just told him what was damaged or incorrect and walked away. It eventually got done. Some stuff was pretty, some was not. For example, he trimmed the door so it fit over the floor transition to the bathroom and the pantry, however the door is now hollow because the trimmed the door too much. Everything was a struggle with him and I think it could have been better if he was more cooperative.

We were pleased with the job overall but did want to note these items. I would use them again, but I would also shop around. Also, just to note, I did share alot of what I wrote here to
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and he responded very positively to my grievances.

They are the best! We found
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
through Angie's List, contacted them, had someone look at our kitchen for an estimate, received the written estimate shortly after and hired them because they seemed very professional and likeable. They helped us at the showroom when we picked out the tiles and countertop for our kitchen and were very patient with us. Once they started they finished each job very quickly and mostly in the time frame that we were told. The workers were very professional and friendly. The job manager stopped by quite often to make sure everything was going well and when we contacted him he always answered our questions and concerns. The project stayed in the estimated budget/cost.
Very likeable crew and managers, but most of all very professional. They know what they are doing. Would hire them for any other job on our house again.

I went with hardwood flooring installation from
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
store thinking it was safer with a big box retailer. Was I ever wrong! The initial part of the process required Measure Comp, a 3rd party vendor from Home Depot, to come to the house to measure the flooring. This part went well and they were prompt and professional. Thereafter, I confirmed with Measure Comp the flooring product from HD, and in turn, the entire price for installation in my home. I provided Measure my Visa credit card number thinking I paid the $4,400 for the 450 sq ft of flooring installation. However, the next day I received an email and call from the
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
store stating my credit card was not working and that I needed to pay for the flooring to initiate the installation process. We are moving into our new home in 3 weeks so I needed to expedite the process.
Later that day, I reported the
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
store to resolve the issue with my credit card. Once again, my Visa credit card did not work so I called Visa while at the HD and was informed that HD charged my credit card 4 times for the $4,400 resulting in my credit card being maxed out. Essentially, HD charged me $17k for the flooring which resulted in my 20K credit limit being maxed out. The Visa representative stated that the only way to resolve this issue was to have HD reverse or cancel the charges. In the meantime, my credit card was not available because I had no credit left.
When I informed the HD store representatives of the problem they stated that they could not find any problem on their end and that I needed to correct the problem with Visa. Essentially, they said it was not their fault and that they could not do anything to fix the problem because they had no record of the transactions in question. Given that I needed to install the floors immediately, coupled with the fact that I had no lines of credit, I opened a HD line of credit to start the flooring process.
When got home I checked my Visa charges online and seen HD charged me 9 times for the $4,400 of which only the first 4 went through. The other 5 times were denied because the credit limit was exceeded. I called HD and confirmed that I have my credit card statement to prove that I was over charged. Once again they said it was not their problem. In fact, the store manager,
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, was initially defensive and rude until I faxed him my credit card statement showing the 9 charges!!!
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
apologized and stated that that he called the HD corporate headquarters to have the charges canceled; however, it would take 7 - 10 days to clear the charges from my credit card. Since I have recurring charges on my Visa, e.g., cell phone bill and gym membership, I started receiving emails and calls that payment was not received. In addition to addressing these annoying issues, I had no lines of credit to make purchases. At this time, HD acknowledged that they attempted to charge my credit card several times, but the transactions never went through because they had the wrong zip code for my billing address. In turn, each inquiry they made went against my credit limit. At the time of writing this email, I have no Visa card available and I'm still cleaning up the mess HD did with maxing out my credit card limit. This ordeal has been a nightmare and I would never recommend using HD again!

Worst experience I've ever had with any service company. Unprofessional, horrible customer service, won't return phone calls until you leave multiple messages. Rude and insulting owner, who wouldn't even tell me his last name until I asked three times!

When I complained about poor communication and missed deadlines was told, "We're busy with other customers, it's only a small job". $7,000 is a small job?! And why say that? How rude!!

The salesman measured at my home on 4-3-2012. As of today, 4-18-2012, I still don't have an standard estimate despite repeated promises. In the meantime, two other competing contracting companies have measured and supplied estimates in less than a week.

When I called to ask for a different salesman, the company owner
Falls Church Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Siraze was rude and defensive from the start. He couldn't understand why I wanted estimates for BOTH Corian and Silestone/Quartz so I could compare (which shouldn't be at all unusual). He didn't care about the terrible customer service.

Why would a business owner be upset that I wanted a typical estimate?! Is that normal? He thought "about $7,000 for everything" should be enough when I had a 15 item list and was considering several different options on several home projects.

I wouldn't buy a pencil from this company, much less kitchen and bath remodeling.

Added 4/23/2012: No, I wasn't given a detailed estimate. Only one number given, the project total of $7,000, for a job that covered over a dozen items in several rooms. There was no breakdown in the estimate, no subtotals. No materials, no labor, no separate subtotals for flooring or countertops or drywall in bathroom. Just one number. Other contractors did not have this problem.

It went very well. Everyone showed up on time and was pleasant to deal with. The only suggestion I have is for the company to be proactively communicate while the job is ongoing. The workers do a great job, but they do not speak English very clearly, so a call from the home office after the day's work was complete would be helpful. The floors look great and I recommend their services.
- David S.

The company was able to give me a range estimate based on the level of service I selected; I opted to have them do the sanding and do the refinishing work myself. They were sensitive to my budget constraints and we found an option that could work. The estimator came out on a Saturday and started work the following week. The job took two days. The estimate was on par with the others that I received, perhaps slightly higher but they were able to start right away. Overall it went great. They were honest about the condition of the floors and let us know that the sanding might not remove all of the many hideous pet stains, which it unfortunately did not-- but I appreciated the honest assessment of the situation. The employees were courteous, professional, and prompt. I wish the floors had come out better, but they did the absolute best that could be done with what there was to work with.
