Veterinarian reviews in Fairfax

First, I would like to state that this review is for one particular veterinarian who works at
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, and not
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
itself. The reason for this, is because we started going to
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
17 years ago with our first Samoyed,
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, but left several years later due to two separate incidents of -in our opinion- gross misdiagnosis. Our journey past that era lead us to yet more -in our opinion again- incompetent veterinarians, including some working in the area's prominent specialty centers.
So one night, in early spring of 2013, when Blizzard, one of our seniors -who was being treated by one of the specialty centers for which I have an extensive negative review here- was not getting any better, I decided to take matters in my own hands. I decided to get a sterile urine test and make a decision myself as to whether or not to continue the treatment they had him on. And I decided I was doing to have this done by a vet who had never seen him before. After all, all I wanted with a urine test, and nothing else.
And so I took him to
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, since we had not been there in years. To my utter surprise and amazement, I landed coincidentally that night to the best and most caring veterinarian I had ever encountered in the past 17 years that we owned our Samoyeds. I realized immediately how deeply informed, and incredibly caring she was and proceeded to transfer our dogs' files to her.
As a result of that
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
encounter with Dr.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
that night, Blizzard enjoyed an extra seven months of quality life with us and I know this would not have been possible had it not been for her. He passed away on November 4, 2013.
His father, our beloved
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, lived six months past the time he was written off by his other vet and more "specialists" who provided wrong doses for fluids, and again, those extra quality months of life were possible only because of Dr.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. To the end she stayed with us and with him and gave her best.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, our last Samoyed passed away peacefully and on his own in our home in the evening of our last visit to
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
not only prolonged the life of our dogs, but she also renewed our lost faith in veterinarians.
Last but not least: Before my dogs passed away, I emailed all of the veterinary centers who had provided service to us and asked them their opinion on devocalization. This is a practice quite popular amongst breeders of Shelties, Samoyeds, Huskies and other vocal breeds, illegal in most of the countries in Europe, yet permitted in most of the United States. None of the other vets replied. I will give credit to
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for replying at least. But their answer was gray. And in my opinion it needs to become loud and clear. Devocalization is mutilation and no ethical veterinary center should practice it or condone its practice under any circumstances.

. NovaMobileVet arrived as soon as possible the same day I phoned. The doctor and his assistant were able to put the cat in their carrying case, which was difficult in itself as my cat goes wild when approached. They gave him a sedative and took him into this huge "hospital on wheels" where they took Xrays and after consulting with me, they removed the obstruction without surgery.
The doctor also did blood work which was sent out to be analyzed for any infections; several days later when I phoned they reported the lab results. Additionally, they gave the cat a 2 week antibiotic injection. feline vaccine and even clipped his nails which had never been done.
Throughout the ordeal, the doctor came into my house to consult with me, explain the results of the Xrays, encouraged me to ask all questions and calmed my fears, as I knew the cat was extremely ill.
After two days, the cat rallied and now is better than new. It is amazing to see this 13-year-old cat back to normal. No further medicine is needed! I am delighted that we had a happy ending to this serious problem.

The compassion I received when I lost my two goldens shows that
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is not just a "business" but people who care about you and your pet. They get to know you and help you whenever they can. They are an emergency vet, so although it will cost you, they are always there for you and we have had to use the emergency vet and a couple of occasions and felt comfortable going to another doctor, although our vet there is Dr.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, all the doctors and personnel at
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
are competent, caring, knowledgeable and friendly. They are very customer service friendly, but keep a very professional atmosphere since they are sometimes dealing with life and death situations and they never make you feel as if your opinion is not important.

Very convenient to have in-home service from nice people, but probably won't do it again given the added expense (and the fact that it didn't seem to make the process any easier on my cats!). Also, I felt like I was "up-sold" on many services/tests my cats did not actually need, leading to a bill more than twice what I had anticipated.

They’ve been great. We’ve been going to them for about 30 years. I think they’ve gotten a little expensive over the years. They charge for an office visit, and then another separate charge to see the vet. There isn’t a pet that they
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
’t accept; they even have an exotic bird department. Overall, I’m happy with their services.

Our beagle had a tick deeply imbedded in her chest at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night. Our attempts to remove it were not working and my 12-year-old was becoming frantic. I called another 24-hour animal hospital and they told me there would be a visit charge of $120 to remove the tick. Then I called
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who answered. She explained everything about ticks to me and the options of waiting or coming in now. And by the way... tick removal was free. Always free. Any time. Wow. We packed the beagle into the minivan and took her over to the
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Center near Fair Oaks all. Probably 1 am by the time we arrived. She apologized to me that they had a lot of patients there that night, not sure why she felt a need to apologize as she attended to us the instant we entered. Two minutes later the tick was removed and everyone was happy. She even refused a gratuity until I forced it on her. Absolutely wonderful experience. The

provider was a

We have used
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for over 15 years. we've used several Vets and they are all very good. They emphasize caring communications. The receptionists are also very friendly and efficient. For the past 8 years, we've almost exclusively used Dr.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Brown, D.V.M and I highly recommend her. She has helped me through the sadness of easing two of our elderly pets on to the other side. And recently, one of my babies, an 11 year old border terrier, had to have emergency surgery in an attempt to save her eye following a dog-fight. Dr
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was not available for the surgery, but the Vet onsite at that time was wonderful and the follow-up with Dr
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was all that we could have hoped for. I highly recommend

While my second dog came to me heartworm positive and Dr.
Fairfax Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's practice is not set up for that, she is my preferred provider for all my dog's medical requirements.

We are happy to recommend them. They have well qualified vets on staff who are smart. They bring in new people who are well educated so there treatment methods are up to day. They are a full service staff. You have to stay on top of your own pets care because it’s a huge practice. If you want a certain vet, then you need to ask for them. They do an excellent job. We are so lucky to be near them and have found them. They have multiple vets there that you can choose from. They also carry food there and they never run out. If they are having trouble finding a certain medicine they will find a substitute substance for it. The vets and technicians explain everything to you and they always give you a budget before every major surgery. They are expensive but well worth it.

He's a very nurturing vet and clearly loves animals. He's also very good with the people parents of the animals. They are priced high. They also do full boarding services and it is the only place where we board our pets. It's nice, a lot of vets don't do that.
