Electrical Reviews in Fairfax

Scheduled installation, and chatted with business owner prior to to discuss number of lights necessary to room size. He was very helpful. Installer was polite and prompt; however, it was later discovered that he inadvertently stripped an adjacent wire. Once the issue was discovered the owner, very promptly rectified the situation the next day; and paid to have the drywall repaired for free and followed up on a what ended up being an unrelated electrical issue. So, while I was not happy with the mistake, given the possible consequences; I couldnt be happier with the response once discovered.

Overall, the service is professional and knowledgeable, but pricey. When scheduling the appointment, they state the electrician(s) will price the job once they arrive, and you can decide if you want the service performed or not. This sounds great in practice; but makes it really hard to compare one company's price to another as you have nothing to compare the price to.
I just purchased a house and had a number of electrical items I wanted repaired. To repair all the items would have cost over $2000. After the estimate, I agreed to have the three items above completed.
Installing the ceiling fan cost was pricey. I've seen other highly rated firms charge less, I'd recommend shopping around for this service.
Installing the three way switch cost nearly as much as installing the fan, but there was much more work involved. For the fee, the electricians removed three old sets of wire from the boxes, changed the former item the switch controlled (wall sockets in various rooms) to being always on instead of being controlled by the switch, and pulled in new wires. They noted that the old wire was bare in spots (it looked to have been stripped when previously installed). They had to go into the hot attic to remove the old wire / install the new wire. This repair was made professionally and with care to be aesthetically pleasing.
My issue is with the third item; troubleshooting another three way light. I noticed that the two switches didn't seem to talk to each other properly. The electrician opened both covers, pulled out the switches and in about 10 seconds noted the problem... that the wire connecting the two switches was disconnected from one of the two switches. He literally repaired the problem in 10 seconds, and charged over three digits $$$ for the service. That seems excessive, especially since this was the third item repaired, and they were there anyway. When I noted that the price seemed high, the electrician shared a story about an HVAC friend charging $600 to repair something at a commercial property that was similarly easy. He also said "you're paying me for my knowledge and experience, not my time." Though I appreciated the analogy, that doesn't really address the fact that the charge for this item is extreme based on the time of service on this repair. When asked, he did explain what he repaired, so I now have knowledge on how a three way switch works.
I know there's a cost for having an experienced electrician come to repair an item; that's why I hired an electrician, vice a handy-man service or other provider. Seeing the stripped wire from the earlier repair justified hiring an electrician, it's just the price from this provider that's the issue.
Again, great service; very high price.

Electrical reviews in Fairfax

Overall, we were impressed by the services provided by
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
and their subcontractor. The plumber, although he arrived substantially later than expected, was professional and honest with his recommendations--he recommended against the disposal installation we'd originally requested due to upcoming changes in plumbing code and also explained how the ventilation in our bathroom was indeed sufficient. His work on the sinks to make them straight pipe instead of the easily-clogging flex pipe that was originally installed was great.

' second service provided was electrical work to replace our lighting with recessed lighting. The pricing for this service was a bit higher than expected since they charged for things like removing existing lighting, which we did not expect, but was pretty reasonable. The electrician was also a professional and honest broker, providing recommendations for more economical ways to do things like ground a bathroom outlet (he recommended installing a GCFI), and the lighting looks great. My only quibble is that
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
did not tell us until the service was being performed that drywall repair was not included, but that might have been something I should have known before.
Speaking of drywall repair, we used one of
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
' subcontractors, DE Contracting, for our drywall repairs and painting. They were well-priced and arrived on time, although their attention to detail when scheduling was lacking (I received several calls trying to schedule service despite having told their scheduler that I'd be on vacation until the end of the month). Their work was great and professionally-done.

The electrician showed up on time and was polite and knowledgeable. We purchased a Big Deal for $99 for $200 worth of service. The job ended up costing more, so we had to pay on top of that, but we were happy with the result.

This provider was phenomenal. They had provided us a quote and the actual cost came in less than the original quote. The workers showed up on time and were extremely courteous. The fans were installed that morning and they even wired one room so that it would be easy to accommodate a future remodel. We were extremely pleased with their service!

works very hard to keep in touch and update the appointment time. The technicians are extremely professional and I am confident that the work they perform is excellent. I am so happy with their work that I want to share my experience with as many as possible because I know you too will be more than satisfied.

Technician arrived punctually, inspected the old fan, gave us a quote for the removal (which was not part of the original deal) and then completed the work in an hour. He was very professional and thorough in explaining all of the work.

arrived on time and call me thirty minutes before they come. They did the work on their hourly rates which end up a lot cheaper than what other contractors been trying to charge me for replacing all the plugs and switches in my condo($800), Maikol took only two hours to perform the whole work and it was very nicely done and up to the electrical code, they install GFCI plugs at the kitchen and bathroom and tamper resistant plugs on the rest of the condo. We are very happy with Rock's and we are planning to use them for our next electrical project. Highly recommended.

was the electrician. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and worked efficiently. We could not have asked for a better experience in meeting our electrical needs and having the work done by a professional at reasonable expense. Exemplary service that merits the first call if a need arises in the future.

I found
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List, searching for the closest electrician in the area. The initial price he quoted over the phone when I described the scope of work over the phone was a bit high, but when he came to the house for the assessment, the price we agreed on was very reasonable. He installed the outlet in the shed immediately, then scheduled for the closet light installation for another date.
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
reminded me that I can pick out another light fixture, instead of using the existing one, which was very helpful. When he and his team came over the second time, they answered several other questions we had regarding how our house was wired. My experience working with
Fairfax Electricians Provider Name Locked
and his team was excellent - he was very responsive (both over the phone and via email) and courteous, he arrived when he said he would, the price was fair, the work executed perfectly and quickly, he gave recommendations and answered our questions without additional charges. Working with a contractor does not get better than this.
