"I have used
painting service numerous times over the past 10 years.
is always professional and polite. He came out the next day after" my call to provide the estimate, and we scheduled the work on the same day. He is the only painter I have worked with who takes down all light fixtures before painting (not just taping around them). This was a multiple day project.
was here on time each day. He always cleaned up before leaving at the end day, not leaving a mess until the entire job was complete. I am already planning my next project, and
is the only painter I will use. I would recommend
Interior's to anyone!

"
dispatched the lead electrician
on the morning we requested and
did an outstanding job diagnosing the electrical" problem at the outlet under the countertop (as well as the neighboring outlet under the kitchen sink we use for the hot water dispenser). Both shared the joint panel switch at the main electrical box.
determined it was better to separate the outlets by giving each it own switch at the panel and then patched the outlet to the gas cooktop. It went well. He showed up on time and was courteous and professional. The original kitchen remodel work was performed this past Summer in the
timeframe. So this was a good test of a follow up service call to correct an install issue and it went excellent.

"
worked with us to design our new kitchen and was responsive to our requests and changes. Installation went very smoothly, and proceeded on the schedule that" was provided. Installation was well organized. For example, old cabinets weren't torn out until new cabinets had arrived, etc. We had a few minor changes and questions throughout, and
was very responsive. The workers were respectful of our home. Only major complaint is that I felt our choices on materials was quite limited. All things considered, I would recommend
and we plan to use them again for future projects.

This part of Don's answer follows my thoughts exactly:

"You want to deal with a professional person that is selling you a bath that was not working as a cashier a few months ago."

Do you go to the gracery store and ask for someone to cook your steak?  Of course not.  So why would you go to a building supply store and ask for someone to remodel your bathroom?  Rarely will you see a legitimate contractor take jobs from a retailer.  Why?  Because they don't pay much.  Speed is the most important thing to them, along with getting it done cheap so they can maximize profit.  About 10 years ago I worked on a few contracted structures (sheds, garages, etc.) from Home Depot.  They contracted to another company who then contracted people to build them.  At that time they paid a flat $250 for a contractor to pick up the supplies, build the structure on site, paint it, and use their own tools.  By the time the cost of a helper, fuel, tools, etc. was factored in there was nothing left for the contractor.  Anyway, the point I'm making is that the guy who will eventually show up to do the work will be so far down the line that everyone else has already taken the profits (Home Depot, ReBath, possibly someone else, and finally the guy working) that he probably isn't going to care what kind of job he does for you, quality or not.  He likely won't have much experience due to a high turnover rate and any experience he does have will probably be limited to his teachings at that job.  He probably can't answer any building code questions or identify other hazards once things are taken apart and he certainly won't do anything he doesn't have to while it is apart.

Another problem I've heard of repeatedly is that if (when) there is a problem there is always someone else you need to speak to.  You might have to talk to 4 or 5 different people before you can even get to someone that can address the problem.  Now multiply that due to having (at least) two separate companies involoved.  "You need to call ReBath."  "No, you need to call Home Depot."

You hire a general contractor for a reason.  We learn, understand, and keep up on building codes.  We are the one point of contact for all questions and issues on a project.  There is no manager in some other store, state, etc. to call.  You contract a GC and deal directly with that GC, or a site supervisor in some cases.  There isn't a huge chain of command to get through to reach the main decision maker for the business.  In a bathroom remodel you need someone who can do the plumbing, repair and/or move any electrical, install tile/flooring, drywall and paint, trim carpentry, and someone to coordinate all of that.  Sometimes you can find a qualified contractor to do all of those things and sometimes he will sub-contract out certain components (especially due to licensing laws) but you will always have that one definitive person to go to for any questions or issues.  A salesman in a store doesn't visit your home throughout the project to check on the status.  Even if he did, he likely wouldn't now what he is looking at.  The same goes for a retail manager.

Hire someone who specializes in taking care of your home.  Hire based on reputation & knowledge/experience.  You are right that not every customer can be happy so an occassional bad review can be found on just about any business.  Read the reviews, not the grades (they are always biased).  Look to see if the contractor attempted to rectify the problem, not ignore it.  Lastly, unless you want cheap, sloppy work and a whole heap of other troubles, don't hire based on a low price.

?
Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.
?
What I always ask my customers regarding this question when remodeling bathrooms is how good they will be about maintaining and cleaning the new bathroom, especially when the old bathroom is obviously neglected.  If you are one of those people who wipes the glass down after a shower and cleans your bathroom every week or two you really don't need to spend the extra money.  If you are at the other end of the spectrum and clean it when it finally bothers you enough it may not be a bad investment.  I've had customer tell me they can tell a difference compared to their old glass without it and others say it made no difference at all.

Your basic rights and protections under law are probably outlined by your state and city's laws. In most states, the easiest way to look up your basic rights and privelges as a consumer would be to visit your state's attorney general website - you can usually find lots of great tips to protect yourself as a consumer there, too. Here's the National Association of Attorneys General's national listing, which includes a link to each state's attorney general website: http://www.naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php

Beyond those basic rights under the law, your expectations of a contractor during, on and after the completion of a job should be explicitly outlined in the estimate and contract. Although it can be a pain in the butt, ALWAYS read the estimate and/or contract before sign it! I cannot stress this enough - frequently the cause of someone's negative experiences with a contractor can be traced back to too few details in the contract.

We've covered contracts, and what you should expect to see in them, here: http://www.angieslist.com/contractor/signing-a-contract.htm

Good luck!

I'll preface this review by saying that this was not the first place we looked at, and I consider myself to be a very particular (IE difficult) customer when it comes to the finer details. We had shopped around at a couple Kitchen and Bath places, including the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot, and all we got were responses of "you will have to schedule and appointment to discuss your options", and were not given the time of day. I saw an ad for
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
K&B, and my Fiancé and I decided to stop in to their showroom one weekend. We were warmly greeted by their salesman
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
right off the bat. I immediately appreciated the professionalism, knowledge, honesty, and direct nature of our conversation. We received no grimey 'used car salesmen' feeling you sometimes get with some places, where you can tell they will promise you anything just to get your business. The entire process was laid out for us where we know what had to happen and when, prior to leaving their showroom. They did have to set up an appointment to get measurements, which was scheduled promptly, and I had a full quote and 3D CAD drawing of what our kitchen would look like in no time. We went ahead and placed out order, and was told up front about the cabinets taking several weeks to manufacture. At this point, we had already done our homework, and knew this wasn’t an unreasonable amount of lead time to wait for a good quality cabinet. Only drawback was that they did require a significant portion of the cabinet costs paid up front before placing the order. This is obviously to protect them though, in the event someone cancels during that wait time. The cabinets arrived pretty much exactly when they said they would, were delivered in good shape, and came well packaged from the manufacturer. I had already removed my own cabinets (this is an added costs to have them do) and my cabinet install was promptly scheduled. Unfortunately, this required another payment, which I did not understand as much, but gladly paid since the project was going smooth and I had nothing to worry about. There were a couple hiccups on the day of install, but nothing out of the ordinary, and
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was quick to make sure they were corrected. I actually made a "punch list" of little things that needed to be done, and they were done without any pushback or issue. Now come the granite tops... This is where I felt the project started slipping up a bit, but would not be a deal breaker if I ever needed to use
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
again. My concerns were always addressed, and I never felt like was being 'blown off' just because my product was towards completion, and they already had the majority of my money. Unfortunately, the granite guys are not able to be scheduled the same day as the cabinet guys, and it took several days to get the templates made. Due to me wanting to use my own sink, this set me back even more, and required me to personally drive the sink to their fabrication shop (but this was on me for getting the wrong size sink to begin with, I just wish I had more direction as to what size sink would fit into the sink base I ordered). Unfortunately, I got a call at this time letting me know that the Slab Depot, (the granite yard they go through to purchase their granite), had sold the slab of granite we drove 30 minutes to go see in person and hand pick at the yard.
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was able to get me some pictures, and put my mind at ease, but there did wind up being a 10” flaw in the granite that was not visible in the picture, that did make its way into my tops. The tops were fabricated & installed quickly once the templating was done, and they did work to get my project finalized quickly. Overall, I'm pleased with my experience with
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
K&B. As with any large home project, there are going to be hiccups, but they made sure all issues were addressed in a timely manner, and taken care of ASAP to my liking. They do NOT do plumbing or complete tile backsplash work, but they make this known right up front, and these trades are easy to find to come in and finalize the project once
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is done. Do not hesitate to stop in and get a quote from
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
if shopping around for Kitchen and Batch cabinets and counters.

A delay in start due to suppliers not being able to have materials ready - not Dream Makers fault. Excellent planning, thorough implementation. Always professional. Very courteous. If I were to invest in a company, it would be theirs - they are that good!

I had just recently installed a new tile floor in our laundry room. However, once the tile was laid I realized it was way too busy and the grout was way too dark. Since we didn't want to pay to have the room re-tiled we called
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. He had changed the color of the grout in our master bathroom last year and thought we would try doing that first.
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
came by one day with the estimate and indicated he thought changing the grout would make a big difference in how the room looked. He came back the next morning and had the job completed in about 2 hours. Now that we have lived with it for a few days we realized this was the best decision. The room looks so much better with the different color grout that
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
chose. We would use him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone needing grout or tile work. He has a great eye for what will and will not work and he does a great job!

Mr.
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is wonderful. We are so thankful we found him. He has done multiple jobs at our house ranging from fixing a toilet, to installing new showers and tub, to connecting sinks. We live in an older home and have discovered that he is incredibly knowledgeable and able to deal with any of the surprises that can come with a home like ours. He is always polite and demonstrates great patience when it comes to answering the many questions that we have about a project. He makes suggestions, but does not pressure when it comes to decisions. When it comes to meeting schedules, he is always punctual and stays on the job even when it takes more time (as is often the case with the earlier mentioned surprises of an older home). We have used several plumbers in the past. Mr.
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked

was extremely easy to work with and very accommodating to our needs. Joy (office manager) and
Culpeper Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
(contractor) made sure each of our requests was handled to our complete satisfaction (and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the result). All of the workers and sub-contractors they used were just as easy to work with and just as concerned with our satisfaction of the work done. If something was not right, they wasted no time fixing the issue. We could not have been more pleased and recommend
