"I was contacted within 48 hours of my request for a quote and it came in right on target and in line with the other quotes I received. I went with
" because of all the great things that I had heard from people that I know and trust. On the day of installation, two installers showed up and immediately went to work. It helped that the wall they were installing on was unfinished with a minor amount of old framing that they removed for me without charge. It was done and over so fast I couldn't believe it. They even spread the dirt along the foundation for proper grading on the side of the house with the window, saving me the effort! The lawn was left in perfect condition with no signs of anyone having been there. The work space was left clean and everything from what they did to how to maintain the window was carefully explained as I admired their workmanship. The city inspector came out a week later and even he was impressed by the quality of work. I have recommended
to some coworkers who were looking for someone they could trust for a quality installation and fair price. I would not change a thing and would not hesitate to use them again if I put in more Egress windows. I cannot say enough good things about this company or the two men who did the installation. True Professionals.

Hello - I hope my answer will help point you in the right direction.

The reason you're having a hard time getting clear information is because there are hundreds of companies saying their window is the best. There are probably millions of different features you can choose to have for your windows and in price ranges from $169-$1200 (per double-hung window).

I've been in the business for 15 years and have seen many different window products from many different dealers and manufacturers. This all comes down to: "what's important for you and your home?" If you want a strong warranty from a company who has a full-time service department to give you piece of mind and service your windows should needs be, or are you looking at only those companies who offer true wood interior windows that you can paint or stain to match the home decor? Whatever is your hot-button, then that's where you want to start.

I would recommend you first choose how you want your new windows to look. Wood-interior with vinyl clad is only offered by certain companies, while there is a vinyl woodgrain finish to give you similar results without the maintenance. If you're only looking for a white interior and don't want the maintenance, a fiberglass or vinyl window would be the best choice from what is offered in the market today (vinyl will be less expensive - not necessarily cheaper quality). If you are going to change out a window to a french door and a door to a window, then you WILL NEED to find a contractor with some carpentry experience. Some companies will tell you upfront that they do not handle those sorts of remodeling projects due to the complexity and time it would take to get it complete.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to personally help you with your project as we work in the New England Area. However, if you wish to talk further, please feel free to email me at: sven@ritewindow.com and I'll be happy to let you know our prices for what we offer so you can compare and hopefully find a similar company to do the work for you near the Austin area.

Cheers!

Get your roofer back out there.  Course of shingles above the window need to be pulled, self sealing flashing, drip caps, and counter and step flashing are going to be required here.

This is a flashing issue as the window connects to the mansard roof surface.

Condensation and a leak are two different and very noticeably different (i.e. volume) things.

Flashing and roofing on Mansards can be tricky but is sounds very much like a roofing issue.

?

+1

Much easier to scratch and typically not as good a finished quality as compared to glass.

Benefits are the resistance to breakage as mentioned by LCD.  Any glazing shop should be able to re-create that panel.

?

For a broken window (or leaking seal in multi-pane unit), for a standard roughly 2x3 foot window, can run from low of about $75-125 for single pane to more like $200-300 range for triple pane, depending on construction and any special ultraviolet or heat reflective coatings. If a removeable window unit, of course cheaper to remove it and take to replacement glass place then have them come out, measure glass size, order glass unit, then come back to install.

If taking in yourself, commonly they can do single-pane in an hour or two, but count on a week or so typically for sealed double or triple pane unit to come in, so you will have to seal the opening in the interim. That is an advantage of having them come out - they measure and determine type of unit on first visit and can seal with tape and plastic sheeting (if you have not already done that), then come back with new unit and install a week or two down the road - but you are not stuck with an opening in the wall for a long time.

?

Thermal numbers look okay when looking at the NFRC.

Do you have any other data on them?  Air infiltration, Design Pressure, Visible Transmittance, and Condensation Resistance are all good evaluators.

http://www.mercuryexcelum.com/images/customer-files/Advantage.pdf

Air infiltration rate is way high at 0.21.

It may look nice in person but the performance numbers are below average.

My wife and I own a pair of beautiful beach houses in Corolla NC that we rent out on a weekly basis to families who want a great vacation. One sleeps 14 the other 20. When we purchased our original OBX house we inherited

is one of the best house warming gifts anyone could have given us. He has handled everything from screen replacement and painting to a six figure whole house renovation without an issue. I trust not only the quality of his work but the honesty of his opinion and have recommended him to friends in both of the subdivisions where we own homes. Owning rental property from 450 miles away isn’t easy but as a long time property owner I can tell you when you find a quality contractor with integrity hold on to him.

These folks may do good work, but I am reluctant to hire contractors who hang unsolicited flyers on the outside of my mailbox. That's not the way to get my business. the way to get my business is to be highly rated on Angie's List.

I had them come out to my townhome and quote a new patio door as my frame had some rot and was leaking during rain. I actually liked their ideas and professionalism. They seemed interested in doing the job, and knowledgeable about what I needed. I quoted three other companies from angie's list. I probably would have went with them except they never called me back, or sent me an appraisal. They did tell me when they were at my house it would be 6-8 weeks before they could get in to do the work. I thought that was a long time but I was willing to wait because I think they could have done a good job. I even called the appraiser several days after the appraisal and discussed an additional option and he told me no problem and I would have a quote in 1-2 days. I ended up going with someone else that had a better response, perhaps they were just too busy and didn't need the work. I figured if I can't get them to call me back during the appraisal, who knows what will happen if I have issues once they complete the job. Hopefully this was a one off and I just fell through the cracks.

What a pleasure it was to watch
Covington Egress Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and his colleague complete their work on my home window wells. They were professional, courteous and focused on doing a high quality job. They delivered exactly what was advertised and the pricing was as quoted over the phone. Two of the wells were located behind shrubs that created a very tight work space and were difficult to access. This team was undaunted by the challenge, squeezing into very narrow openings to clean out the wells, unclog the built in drains and then place the new covers securely. And they even disposed of the old, broken "big box store" cheap plastic covers that were installed years ago. This was money very well spent. I highly recommend and would definitely use them again.

It did not go well at all. The old siding was removed, and along with it went the wrap and Styrofoam insulation under it. I demanded that the house get a TYVEK wrap prior to new siding: it was not wrapped. Plus
Covington Egress Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was asked to inspect whether there was insulation in the exterior walls or not; he did not, because there was no insulation in the walls from house being built in 1955. If he did, then we could have tackled that from the exterior instead of now needing to do it and having to either tear out walls inside, or re-do everything from the outside. Idiot!. Then, when he was suppose to come in and measure widows, he forgot a couple, and we had to wait on backorder for the first set, and the next set of windows. He wasted a lot of our time on just that, but found out later that it was

and his crew that caused most of the delays during the whole build. Plumbers were the second biggest delay, but that falls under triton contracting (idiots). When he finally decided to come over to put in windows and doors, after he did the siding, he left gaps around the different sized doors/windows on the outside, and we still have gaps at top and bottom of doors from the inside. The bay window has sharp edges (eye height of my 3 year old daughter) and gaps in the exterior wrap of the bay window allowing water, wind, bugs to enter. I have called numerous times for this to be fixed, but he continues to ignore my requests. I had the worst experience of remodeling that anyone could imagine experiencing. The group of my City's inspectors have informed me that what had happened through out the whole build here at my home: is now a level of: "How bad can it be?" as the worst level of quality workmanship. He got paid to do all of the work correctly, he did not. To me, that's stealing.. He said he would return to fix what needed to be fixed, he did not. To me, that's lying.
