Reviews for Collinsville Storage Facilities

"I rented 2, 10’ x 30’ warehouses at
about 2006 to 2008 and after being there for a few years, there were several break-ins. There were three during the last year I was there on my unit, along with many other units on the back side of the property where I was at.
One night, I went to my warehouse about 9 o'clock at night and found my lock had tried to be cut but was not cut all the way through. I looked around to make sure I had not walked up on someone in the middle of breaking into my unit. I went back up to the front office to tell the man and woman who lived on site there that they had been broken into. They acted like I was interrupting their precious time and didn't even seem to care that there were multiple units broken into all in the back part of their property. I mean row after row of units that had been broken into with locks cut off and laying on the ground.
The next day, I asked the people who lived on site there if they patrol the facility after hours or late at night and they said no, we are only in the office during the daytime and after 5 o'clock we come in and don't go back out again until morning. When the police were called and showed up, they didn't take fingerprints or ask any questions of me or anyone else there. They just made a police report that the place has been broken into and that was about it.
So since this was the third time that I had been broken into in a one year period, and my rent kept getting higher and higher, I decided to move out of
. This was November of 2008. I had 2, 10’ × 30’ warehouses, and I had a lot of stuff in them that I decided I was going to get rid of during the move to another storage facility. So I went up to the office and ask the lady there if there was a fee for leaving stuff behind when you moved out of your warehouse. She said yes, about a $100 or $125, because they had to hire someone to come in and clean out the stuff I left behind.
So I figured that amount was okay by me, and left some of the things I didn't want any more in one of the warehouses. I even took pictures of the warehouses with my wife standing in front of them with that days newspaper in her hand (photos posted below) for verification that we had left that day with only one warehouse with things left in it. The second warehouse was empty and swept clean.
A few weeks later, a letter came in the mail from
with a bill for $225 because I left items in my warehouse when I moved out. I called the manager and asked her about this and she said that that was the fee they charged when you left stuff in your warehouse upon moving out. I told her that I had went up to the office and asked the lady on duty that day about leaving stuff in my warehouse when I moved out and she said it would only be $100 or $125 fee charged and that I only left stuff in one of my warehouses. She said that was the fee that they charged and there's nothing she could do about it, and really didn't seem to care either way. At this point, I called the corporate office and they didn't seem to care either. I told them that I was not going to pay that amount because I was told it would only be a $100 to $125 fee. A few months later, I pulled my credit report and on it was a collection from
for $225. And that caused all of my credit card companies to raise my interest rate to 29.99 percent.
I talked to a
manager today and found out that on 2-6-2009 a District manager waived the $225. But this was after
turned over the $225 for collection and it went on my credit report and made all my credit card rates go to 29.99 percent. I didn’t even know it had been waived until today in 2014. No letter was even sent out or a call to me made to tell me, so that sat on my credit report for months. And when my credit card companies saw it, they didn’t care, it was the excuse they needed to
up the interest rates.
It would have made things a lot easier if the store manager would have checked with the person on duty who told me that if I left stuff behind in a warehouse it would be a $100-125 fee. But instead, she didn’t care nor did the corporate office care. Some district manager found out months later and did the right thing. But how much did this cost me?
So basically, when you store your things at
, your things are not protected because they have no security. Their on-site personnel do not patrol the property at night and there is no camera system at all, except one little camera at the entrance and exit gate. The staff doesn’t seem to care about what you say or believe what you say. And after it ruins your credit and costs you hundreds of dollars, oh well.

was right in the middle but because he was so helpful in answering all our questions and giving us information we had not thought to ask we decided to pay the extra $200.00 and we are so glad we did.
His son and 2 others came to our home on time and moved all our furniture to their truck in about 2 hours. They were nice, professional and all around great guys. We even asked (kinda begged) that they be the ones to come to Columbus to unload the furniture and they did. Not a scratch on our walls or any of the furniture.
They said they would be in Columbus about 9:00 and I think they arrived at 9:05. They had everything moved from the truck in about 2 hours. They asked where the furniture should be placed, we changed our minds a couple of times, they just said take your time and lets get it right so that you don't have to move it yourselves later.
When they were done they asked 2 or 3 times if there was anything else they could do to help.
They made a very stressful experience so much easier. I thought the moving part would be the worst but they made it very easy.
Like I said, I cannot say enough good things about
would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs a mover.

"Very courteous, organized and helpful. Helped pack and loaded the truck one day, and met me in Virginia early the next morning. Everything arrived intact, I am pleased to say. Some add-on $ since there was more packing than anticipated. Would recommend them to get the job done!

"Added wall treatments to garage walls with extra storage panels, also painted garage walls and ceiling. They were supposed to do some other work on the back patio that included repairing old wood problems. They started this work and ran out of time and didn't finish before they had to leave for another job. I was disappointed that they could not finish the outside work, however the work completed on

"Pack Rat is a very affordable solution to a short term storage need for your residence. The storage container was dropped off as requested. Our container need extended two days past the 1 month period, and they graciously allowed us to keep the container those extra days at no additional charge.
We had work done on our garage and needed to empty it. Having the container in our driveway was perfect and allowed us to secure all the garage items at our home for easy access during the construction phase at our home.
After checking with competitors and alternative storage solutions, we chose PackRat.
I highly recommend PackRat as a very affordable solution. Everyone I talked to was helpful, right down to the guy delivering the container. Thank you PackRat.

, phoned me for an appointment the day before to set up my appointment. He and his crew showed up the following day on schedule, I was provided a price which I considered reasonable, and his crew went to work on my 6 palm trees. They finished in 30 minutes, cleaned up the area completely, and departed.

The wrapped each piece in cellophane and no damage was incurred to any of the furniture they moved. The entire process took about what I had expected and the price was within budget. (they are A+ rated with zero complaints in three years, thats pretty rare in the moving business) made the best impression during our review process.
Due to some of the larger furniture and the stairs involved, we hired a crew of four. They were on time and were very polite and professional. We elected to get the additional insurance coverage for some of our more valuable pieces. During any move there is always a

"Very professional, took great care with my belongings, was able to move all of my home in one day. Very systematic and planned very well for my move. Never ran into one glitch. I would rehire them in a second if I ever moved again. Great group of guys.
