I signed a contract with
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
on 29 February. The
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
representative made a point to emphasize that I needed to get on the schedule early so I could be one of the first jobs completed once spring arrived. It is now May 19th and my deck is still in process. I recognize that it was a sales pitch and an attempt at a pressure close but his statement was true. Since then I have had very poor communications with
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
. A power washing crew showed up on 11 March; unscheduled. The power washing crew removed furniture from the deck and stacked my furniture in a muddy flower bed instead of stacking the furniture on the brick patio below the deck. I had to clean and restack the furniture. The ferns that were in the beds where the furniture was stacked are dead and had to be replaced. In April,
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
employees showed up, unscheduled, on 2 separate occasions to sand and scrape my deck. Up until today, I've had no communications from
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
on a completion schedule other than I’ve noticed that on
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
's website, my completion date was changed from 20 April to 30 April and then from 30 April to 20 May and now it's 30 May. On 13 May,
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
showed up, again unscheduled and began to paint my deck. It was raining that day and it rained over 2 inches over the next 24 hours. The paint that the worker applied washed off into my newly sodded yard. I am waiting to see if my sod

where the paint puddled in my yard. On Saturday, 17 May, a technician showed up, again unscheduled and asked if he could work on Saturday and Sunday. I took time to meet with the technician and pointed out that the paint washed off during torrential rains and I that I was concerned about my grass. The technician's response was " the paint that was applied was water soluble, so it shouldn't harm your grass". To which I responded" the chemicals and pigments in the paint is what I am concerned about. Early on Sunday morning, I was awakened to answer his question: Was the color that he painted the deck (Sea Foam Green) OK? I pointed out that the original color of the deck was River Rock and my color choice was clearly identified on the contract. Today (19 May) is the first time anyone from
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
has been proactive and called me with a schedule for working on my deck. I've called the local
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
number along with the national help desk number, several times, over the last 45 days and I haven't receive a return call as requested. I had my deck rebuilt and painted last year. I wasn't satisfied with the finish so I contacted
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
. I read the glowing reviews on
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
on this site and on the internet. My experience is no where near the experience of other clients.

This was our second go round with this deck after a bad experience with a different deck company and we wish we had gone with deck orators the first time. We got an estimate at our first appt, they came the next week and had it all done about a week later. The price was much better than other estimates and we are going to have them come back in about a year to make half the deck a screened porch.

The end product turned out pretty good. However, getting there was extremely frustrating to say the least. We signed the contract in March 2013, but the bulk of the work wasn't completed until August 2013,
I read all the positive reviews on here and thought a portico would be easy for them to complete on schedule. Maybe, we were just an anomaly, but this was a disaster from day 1. If I had to sum up everything that happened, it would boil down to communication -- very poor communication starting with the sales guy on through the workers and managers.
The contract we signed did not have detailed dimensional drawings showing the overall design, materials, etc. All we received was a sketch which turned out to be problematic. To make a long story short, we had several issues with the placement of the columns (middle of stoop versus near the
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
which the sketch showed), straight overhead railings vs curved railings (contract very clearly said curved railings), placement of one column up against a side railing, flat roof versus sloped roof (their fix was to cut 1/4" off the bottom of the columns), brown spots forming on the "low maintenance" trex railings, etc.
They eventually fixed everything except the brown spots/smudges on the railings. After much back and forth between myself and the managers and also delivery of replacement railings,
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
P. called me on Veteran's day and said they would be out to try one more time to clean the railings. They did not show up and then stopped responding to my e-mails and phone calls. As it turns out, the brown spots have faded with time, but are still noticeable.
So, bottom line, maybe my experience is out of the norm and maybe they have more experience doing decks, but my project consumed an inordinate amount of my time in 2013.

Overall we were extremely satisfied with the project, it's changed the way we live in our home. Initially when

came out to look at the project we were considering doing a deck and patio combo, but after further discussion it made sense to build a screened in porch because of many reasons. I think that's the main difference between this company and others we spoke is that they really took the time to see what was best for our homes layout. Also we were dealing with the owners directly, not just a salesman who was trying to sell us. We talked to a few other companies, but decided to go with prg because of the total package we were offered. This company really threw in every single option and the price was comparable to all the others but we felt like were getting more for our money. Options like arches,

/groove flooring, solar shade sky lights, ceiling fan, lighting, composite exterior, metal balusters, platforms for the stairs, and so many other small things they do free of charge to really make the project look spectacular. After we signed the initial contract, they only took a deposit of $1k until they received all the permits and
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
approvals. This made us feel really comfortable, other companies were asking for as much 50% down before they even submitted plans to the county. After all the county and
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
approvals we were surprised to see the work start about a week after, we thought there would be a longer wait time. The project in all took approx. 3 weeks, the foreman was on the jobsite everyday and the owners were also there about every other day. Communication with the foreman was very easy, he even gave us his cell number so we could text back and forth incase of any changes or issues. We did end up changing the layout of the steps during construction, and it was no issue. After the project was completed, there were some issues with the sky lights and the screened door not latching correctly. Both things were fixed within a week after the completion, and we paid the entire balance then. The owner didn't even want to accept payment until everything was done to our satisfaction, we found this very commendable. I would definitely recommend prg to anyone who is looking for a screened porch or deck, they are honest, fair priced, a breeze to work with and the work is exceptional.

My experience with
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
was a pleasure every step of the way. They were one of many companies I contacted to provide ideas and estimates for my patio and walkway needs and they clearly were the best choice from my initial meeting.
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
performed the initial consult to me and came up with ideas that really resonated with my needs that the other contractors did not. He had a great vision for not only the aesthetics of the patio and walkway but also the functionality of the space.
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
asked good probing questions that helped me really get an idea of how i should use the space and this resulted in a design and product that I'm extremely happy with.
Once I agreed to move forward with
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
,
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
and his staff kept me well informed about every aspect of the job. I was very pleased with their ability to begin work within two weeks of my decision to commit to them and felt comfortable that the timelines they established at the beginning of the job would be met..
Once construction began, Core's stone mason

proved to live up to
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
's description of him as an artisan,.
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
's craftsmanship exceeded my expectations and I was very pleased with his daily updates and consults with me to refine the finer details of the patio and the walkway. Throughout the project, I enjoyed seeing
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
and
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
's vision come to fruition.
I strongly recommend
Clifton Outdoor Living Provider Name Locked
for anyone's outdoor needs. The construction of my patio and walkway felt like more of an experience that I had an active role in than a contracted job.

I collected several quotes and I will admit he was not the cheapest quote I found however after having him come out it is clear he was very knowledgeable, knew his trade and was committed to getting things done exactly to specifications. (you get what you pay for so to speak)
It was well worth it. It was a very painless experience; he came out a couple times to make sure his crew new exactly what needed to be done ahead of time and what I was expecting to get done. The work was excellent, well planned and executed and I am definiteliy planning to use him again next time I need someone with his expertise.

returned to re-seal my deck after a year of calls and sheduling promises. Weather combined with winter months were the primary reasons for the delay in resealing a deck job gone bad over a year ago, This time the job was done right and looks much better.

They removed a hot tub and we now have a hole because they never finished it. The guy fell into the hole, hurt his foot, and had to go to the hospital. They never returned after that and they left us hanging with a hole in our floor and no power. They also worked on a sun porch for us. They ended up cutting-off the electricity, so we now have no lights, heat, or A/C. We also asked them for an estimate on a deck, and they just started building it! They left us worse off than before.
