"
emailed me an update the first few days I was away and told me that
greeted her at the door and was eating well." She left the feeding and litter areas spotlessly clean; also there was a log of her daily visits.
left my key with a neighbor on the last day. I am very pleased with
's services and plan to call on her again in the future.

"Always goes great...
is so responsive to changes in my schedule, and I am so happy with what my dogs receive during their lunch break. One" of my dogs had a small scratch on his neck, and I was texted a picture to make sure I was aware of the scratch. It really is a great service!

6 questions to ask about your pet sitter

Ever since
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
took over poop scooping my yard I have seen the quality of my service decline. I have been a paying customer of the "poop scooping" service for over 3 years now. Since
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
has taken over this service from the previous provider I've noticed a sharp decline in just how effectively the scooping has been done. There have been weeks where I have wondered if they even came at all. The only way I knew was that they left a note on my door and a lightly filled bag of poop on my driveway. But you wouldn't know it from looking at my yard.
Not to mention the emails and communications have been less than professional.
Then today I get a rudely worded email that includes, among other "policy changes":
"Yards need to be maintained with grass cut short in order for us to provide the service. It is too difficult to find and collect poop in long grass. If your grass is too long, we cannot provide service. If we visit but find that your grass is just too high, you will still be charged for the visit."
I get that tall grass makes your job harder, and I would understand if the yard wasn't cleaned as thoroughly with the grass being tall. (This is how it was previously handled) I would also understand charging a nominal fee for showing up and noting that you are unable to perform service to cover cost of gas and time driving out. But to show up, declare the grass is too long and charge me anyway... (And they don't have an official definition for what constitutes "too long", so if they decide they want to charge you FULL PRICE for doing NO WORK, there's no recourse for you.)
So essentially if you hire
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
, they may decide that your grass is too tall, not even try to service your yard and still charge you anyway. Good luck getting your money back if you contest it because they also require you to pay for a full month of service up front.
When I reached out to point out the logical fallacy in this policy (That it essentially gave them the freedom to claim anyone's yard was too tall to service be able to charge anyone without providing service) I was basically told I could take my business elsewhere.
Sound like a company you'd like to hire?

The first time I hired her, she responded to my text asking how it was going. She was slow responding, but she did respond. I only texted her once while I was out of town for business. Unfortunately, my front door was UNLOCKED when I returned home! Thank goodness the animals were okay and nothing was stolen. She acknowledged that she had difficulty locking the door, however, she said she must have forgotten to lock it. Excuse me?
The second and last time I hired her, I sent numerous requests via text and voicemail to check if she had remembered to walk my dog on the last morning I was out of town. I didn't hear back from her for five hours! I was out of town and unable to return home to make sure my dog had proper care. I had to call a friend to come over and walk my dog, just to make sure that my elderly dog was able to relieve herself.
After two different weekends of this, I would NEVER recommend her to anyone seeking a pet sitter.

I have used
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
on 15 separate occasions from 2011-2015. During the first 13 occasions, I had no major problems.
In November, 2014, I returned home from a trip where Hot
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
cared for my pets, and when I arrived, I discovered that the back door to my house had been left unlocked by “
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
.” I contacted the management (
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
) and was told “This was a grievous oversight on her part and she is very sorry for it.” It did not appear that anything had been stolen from my residence.
In May 2015 I was traveling for a week, and on the evening of my trip I got a text message from “Sienna” telling me that there was some sort of malfunction with the garage door to my house. She stated that it would not close properly. This is a newer garage door and has never had any prior problems. In order to get the garage door closed, she pulled the release handle, and left the garage unlocked overnight.
The next morning, “
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
” texted me to let me know that he was checking on the animals. I asked him if there was something wrong with the garage door, and he told me that there was nothing wrong with it other than the release handle being unlocked. He re-locked the release handle and carried on.
When I returned from my trip, I discovered that my garage had been burglarized, with multiple things stolen including my bicycle, a generator, and camping equipment. There was no sign of forced entry which means that the break-in had to occur when “Sienna” left the door unlocked.
As you might imagine, I am extremely upset that
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
left my property unlocked on 2 separate occasions and during the second occasion I was robbed.
Fortunately,
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
does carry insurance and I filed a claim, and eventually was reimbursed for my stolen items.
The business owner April "Hunter" Sunrise was polite and responsive to me throughout this process and I know she feels badly that it occurred. She tells me that she does background checks on all of her employees and that she doesn't think it is possible that any of her employees were involved in the theft.
I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your pet sitting needs since the pet sitters who work for
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
left my property unsecured on two separate occasions.

I have two geriatric pets who don't do well with boarding and they don't do well with travel which means I need to use a pet sitter when I travel. I had an extremely bad experience with a prior pet sitter and have now used
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
twice.
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
is really just one person--
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
, and that is not a bad thing. My prior pet sitter was a large business and I never knew who would be coming to my house on any given date.
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
is good with the animals, she keeps their areas clean, and she is easy to communicate with.
I pay $30 per day that
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
watches my pets: $20 for a morning visit, and $10 for a second, afternoon visit.

the team was great and we feel our cats would be very safe and well taken care of when we use them again. they left detailed notes on how each visit went, how the cats were doing plus they watered plants, got mail, etc. they are an excellent pet sitting company. I'd recommend them to anyone with beloved pets. They will be the first on our list to call the next time we need pet sitters.

My husband and I are very lucky to have found
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
. He has been walking our 2 dogs and house sitting for us for almost 2 years. Our dogs love him and get so excited when he comes to walk them. We have a Pekingese who is a bit pernickety and
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
handles him wonderfully. We travel a lot and
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
stays at our house and watches the dogs. He is very reliable and responsible. We have a bit of a crazy schedule sometimes and he always works with us and goes above and beyond many times. It gives us peace of mind to know our fur babies and our house are in such good hands. I highly recommend
Charlottesville Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
to take care of your pet sitting/walking needs. You will be very glad you did!!!!

They are all reliable, friendly, responsible, tolerant, helpful, and able to handle decisions. They are a great team, and the owner can handle all kinds of my eccentricities. No better pet care anywhere, even at a 24-hour animal hospital!

My air conditioner finally died after 11 years and at 5:30 at night. They came out that evening and tried to fix it but the compressor was dead. they gave me two options which they explained in great detail on the warranty and when they could replace it. He was very professional and took time explaining every thing that he had done and is doing to get me air. They showed up when they said they would, did a great job, and clean up their mess. These are great guys to work for you.
