Window Replacement reviews in Burke

The roofers themselves were very professional and did a good job. The young man who sold me the package was a nice fellow, but for some reason I admit that I felt uneasy signing the contract. My issue was that the workmen were at my house without the salesman, and that made me uncomfortable. Plus, the salesman had promised he would fix a vent for me at no additional cost, but he forgot to put that in the work order, so it didn't get fixed. He later called and made a deal with me, in that he would not charge me for rotted wood that they found, if I would forget the vent, and I said ok. He also said that he was going to use my house as a "show house" which was how

kept costs down for advertising, but they have never put a sign in my yard, so I don't know if that is true or not.
I ultimately like the product, but I would go with someone else in the future. I just felt uneasy a lot of the time during the transactions.

This was one of several Angie's List companies I called for an estimate for a new storm door. My old door broke in the last wind storm, ripping the top part right out of the door frame. This company was super professional from my first phone call, to the person who came to show me door selections, to the project manager in charge of my installation, the team of installers, then their inspector! The team showed up on time, worked through an issue with damaged wood in my door frame where my old door was, and did an amazing job. Then once it was installed (and trust me, this part was above and beyond any of my expectations), an inspector showed right up and made sure the door was perfect. He noticed some defect in the glsss part of the door which I did not see and orderd a replacement glass part right on the spot. Then he arranged for a date to replace the glass. This company's logo should be - 'You get what you pay for' and I mean that in the most positive way. They were a tad bit more expensice than another estimate but they made this up and then some in their customer service and professionalism. And did I mention a lifetime warranty??? It doesn't get better than this folk!!!

I had a window where the top portion had fallen down a quarter of an inch or so on one side leaving a gap at the top. The window also would not stay open the whole way when I opened it. I called up Capital Window in the early afternoon and they came within a few hours to fix it. He showed up and fixed both issues relatively quickly, the window is working fine now. I would highly recommend Capital Window if you need anything at all with windows fixed!

The installation was completed in a single day, everything they had ordered fit perfectly. The installers were very professional, efficient and left everything as clean as they found it. We have not any problems at all with either their product or the installation. Overall we're very satisfied with our choice of Renewel by

came out for the estimate and handled the job. The price was competitive to the other estimates I received, and this is their specialty so I trusted them to have the expertise to do the job right. They were on time and did great work. They spread the dirt from the dig around a tree and even put down seed and hay. They dug very deep looking for the drain tile along the house. I was very pleased with their work and the end product.

We have done business with
Burke Window Installers Provider Name Locked
for over 22 years and have always been very satisfied with the results. I wrote a review in May 2012 when I joined Angie's List indicating the types of projects done over the years
Burke Window Installers Provider Name Locked
has always corrected any issues that arose and we consider him more a friend then business associate. (I've even joked we helped put his son through college). In reality we have always felt we received a great price. In fact while putting in our gutters it was discovered by

there were some rubber pipe fitting issues on our roof which

had corrected at no additional cost to us. There's no question in my mind

This was the easiest contractor I have worked with in a long time. The door was ordered with absolutely no pressure to order more than we wanted. When the time came for install the team was GREAT! They guys arrived on time, and went to work immediately. They were very careful not to damage any property so they covered everything up. The worked quickly and consistently to remove the door that was in place. After they did this they found wood rot (not entirely unexpected). I was present and saw exactly what the problem was. They asked if I wanted it replaced and called and got the additional cost immediately. Once I ok'd the additional work they completed the job quickly and professionally. The door is fantastic and works great! I couldn't have asked for a better team. The door is of excellent quality. Have not had any issues with the door whatsoever. I am going to this company when I start to replace the windows in my home. I can confidently refer them to anyone.

The entire process was excellent. They were professional in their presentation, the work was finished within the timeline we discussed at the beginning of the process, the roof looks great and they were considerably cheaper than the other bidders.

This is for the

sales office based out of 9932 Main Street,

We stumbled on
Burke Window Installers Provider Name Locked
at the home improvement show at the convention center in Chantilly, VA, in the late fall 2013. The salesman was out to the house with the typical sales pitch in November. Price was in line with other quotes we had received and we knew that the garden window would be an expensive part of all this. We liked the design of the "garden" window for over the sink the best (includes a "working" casement window with screen on each side.) We also replaced two double-hung windows in the the bay as well as the large fixed ("picture") window in the middle. The double hung windows leaked air very badly in spite of putting in new air seals (just a bad design.) We put casement style windows in the bay on either side of the large window. We also replaced the awning window in our master bath as the old one was all but impossible to operate and it leaked water in a hard driving rain.
All these windows are on the back of our house. We sit on a hill overlooking a pond and community common area. Very lovely view but with a north-western exposure, it gets a lot of wind and it can make for a cold area in the kitchen in the winter around the old bay double hung windows and old garden window. We noticed an immediate improvement in warmth in this area of the kitchen with the new windows.
The windows are manufactured by Alside Window Systems in Akron, OH.
It took the

team two days to install all the windows over two weeks due to the weather. (It was a cold and messy January 2014!) Not a problem for us. The installation team was very careful when working inside putting down drop cloths and removing shoes. Open cavities around the windows were filled with spray foam insulation. They cleaned up the outside the best they could considering we had a

of snow out there.

The only hiccup in this whole process was pricing. As I said, the price was within the range of other estimates we had received. About two weeks after receiving our estimate, the salesman called to say he had made a mistake in the estimate; he priced our bay windows as a single unit, not as three individual windows (we verified this.) After some discussion, we agreed to split the difference. I am sure they still made a profit on it!
Bottom line is that we exceptionally pleased with the new windows, especially the garden window over the sink. It looks a lot better than the old one ( ! ) and there are absolutely no air leaks.

The installers were very courteous and accommodating. The project manager and estimators gave suggestions to decrease costs which were greatly appreciated. For example, a special piece to go over the back basement door costing $300 was not needed as the fabricator told me he could create the same aluminum trim work for much less and would look just as nice. He was able to duplicate the trim work from a photo in their siding catalog. They were able to create the clerestory windows I wanted in my family room. They checked with me about window placement to make sure they were where I wanted them. They also caulked all the nail holes in the window trim around the new windows. The interior window trim around the new windows looked good. It looks so good that I have yet to paint the trim. I did not have a dining room window replaced, but they made the exterior trim consistent with the trim on all the other windows for a uniform look. The main reason I went with Firehouse instead of other companies is that the exterior window trim looked so much better. Other companies were only offering J channel around the windows for approximately the same or higher estimate. Cleanup was generally good, except lots of little pieces and nails were missed. I found the little pieces and nails in my flower beds as I was gardening. Neighbors commented positively on the appearance of the new siding and windows. I also chose a siding that was similar in color to the original aluminum siding, but went with a wider 5" width siding. They also installed a new porch light fixture for me that I had purchased. This was not discussed as part of the job. I was on site during all the work performed. The windows were installed in one day, but the siding took several days. I also went with a sheathing they recommended under the siding. The gutters were installed on a separate day. Different teams perform each job: windows, siding, gutters. This company gets an excellent rating from us.
