Tree Service Reviews in Burke

was originally recommended to us by
department guys that removed 4-5 fallen trees from our previous residence during the ice storm last winter. We had
come out to look at another tree but decided the work was minimal enough to do it ourselves.
Our new house had an overgrown cherry tree that was 4-5 stories tall and with a crown the width of yard (and then some, hanging in our neighbor's yard too!) We knew it was too much for us to do.
I called to schedule an estimate, and it took a week or so for the arborist to call and schedule a time to see the tree. He was here 5-10 minutes, wrote up the estimate, and left. Quick and easy.
The next day I signed on the line, emailed the estimate back, and was emailed a response: a scheduler will call in 3-5 business days. It was more than a week later (pushing two weeks?) when I finally called to find out about scheduling. The arborist called back a few days later with a date that didn't work for me, but agreed on a date that would work better for me.
The day of the work I was expecting them at 8:30 and they arrived at 4:15--I've grown accustomed to this kind of "flexibility" and I'm not sure if this is common for others, or just my recurring bad luck with contractors. They double checked their orders with me, ensured I understood what a 15% reduction would look like, and got started. 2 hours later my overgrown tree was whipped into shape and my yard had some sunlight restored to it (a good thing when you want grass to grow!)
In total, it was just over a month between the time that I first called to inquire about an estimate and when the work was completed. For me, that was a bit long as other landscaping work (sod installation) could not be completed until the tree was reduced.
But, in the end, it was good to have peace of mind that the job was done right and safely. My dogs enjoyed watching the guys out the window all day--thanks
for entertaining them so I could get some work done! The price was fair compared to other landscapers who offered to do less (and who no doubt new less about how to do it). I'd use them again (I'm investigating whether I can have
work on other trees on easement portion of my property, or if the
has to contract for the work.)

They got the tree down ok, but left the stump about 8" high and completely uneven. They delivered the mulch and dumped it on a flower bed. They were supposed to come back and level the stump but kept giving us excuses about the big saw being in the shop. They told us it would be fixed by
. 15, 2014 and I contacted them on that day but never received a reply, I finally talked to another tree guy working in a neighbor's yard and he leveled it for $40. They were also supposed to move the mulch pile to the back yard but never did that either and as a result a bush got damaged because I was not able to move the pile myself this spring due to shoulder surgery. The also left truck tire divots in the yard, left trash and cigarette butts in the yard, and trampled a shamrock garden. When we tried to contact them they either did not respond or when they did they were rude, a couple of times hanging up on us and finally the owner screamed at my wife on the phone. These people are rude, sloppy and unprofessional. Avoid this company like the plague.

We were very happy with the work that was performed. The office staff was very good with communication as we went back and forth a few times to make sure we had a clear understanding of what was going to happen. This was our first time having trees removed. The 2 Poplars and 1 Maple tree were very large trees that were leaning over the house. On the day of service, the crew was here on time. They worked non stop until all 3 trees were removed and the stumps grinded out. We were told that our lawn (sparse to begin with b/c of all the trees) might be torn up during the process. I was surprised to find 12 inch deep depressions from the falling pieces of the tree

in several places in the backyard. This might be normal, I just wasn't anticipating having ankle turning holes to fill afterwards. This may be just lack of experience on my part. We would definitely use the company gain in the future. We have several more trees that need some attention. I liked that the office staff was quick to respond and good with communications.

Have a 70'+ silver maple in the front yard that hadn't been pruned in 4-5 years, but was also concerned about a huge limb overhanging the house. Ed did the estimate and said that the tree needed to be cut back about 30% and some strengthening cables installed.
In the back of the house is a large, overgrown wooded area that went wild over the last 20+ years. Two huge trees were leaning over the house and blocking all sun and needed to be removed, there was a dead tree to remove, and just a lot of clearing up of smaller trees and brush, old stone, a rotting decorative fence, etc.
Although we started the estimate process in February, the snows kept impeding the work. In March they came out to do the silver maple. There were four guys in the tree plus a guy on a cherry-picker and another couple guys clearing the cuttings. Big crew. I was amazed at the amount they cut back. They installed three of the supporting cables between the main branches but couldn't install the fourth as they were missing on connector. They finished that job when the came later to do the back. Tree looks great.
On 11 April they came to do the back. Started about 8:30 am with a crew of 3-4 guys, and many more came later. It needed a small Cat tractor, stump grinder, and they filled up two trucks with debris. Worked straight through until almost 5:00 pm. Quite a job.
Impressed with the results and will use them again.

The quote was reasonably priced, they showed up on time 2 days later with a large crane and removed the tree very quickly and professionally. Very happy with their work.

I was not home the morning that they came to remove the trees. When I got home, I discovered that the crew had not removed all of the trees that TC had told me would be removed. I immediately called the company and within 10 minutes I received a call from the owner,

. I explained the situation. He said he would talk to his crew and get back to me. Within a couple of hours, the crew was back at my house. I talked with the foreman of the crew and we walked the property. We got on the same page and they finished the job; far exceeding my expectations. They have earned my repeat business as I know I will need to have additional trees removed in the future.

came out within a couple of days of contacting him. He was professional and thorough. Provided us the estimate. Went back and forth on what we actually wanted him to do. Signed the work order. Scheduled the work. Arrived earlier than promised. Completed all work except tree stump grinding that day. Came back a couple of days later to complete the work. And then sent us a bill!! Would definitely use them again.

The tree cutting crew showed up exactly on time, ready to work. They were careful, efficient and thorough. I was skeptical at first when their price was by far the lowest quote we had from 4 other service providers. Our quotes ranged from 1400-2800 dollars for cutting down and removing 2 large trees from our yard. They quoted us 1400 and even honored a 10% off coupon I found online at their web site. When I called to ask about their insurance they were quick to e-mail me their certificate. Hardly any damage was done to surrounding vegetation when cutting down the tree, all limbs and tree parts were cleaned up and they did a great job at cutting down to ground level. I would highly recommend this company!

Stokes (

) and his crew did a FANTASTIC job!! I had four dead trees cut down and removed from my property. I also had trimming and dead branch removal from several other trees on my property. One of the trees (a White Oak) that I had cut down was four feet in diameter and over one hundred feet tall. Unfortunately this Oak tree had died and had the potential to severely damage my home if it fell down. Also, the tree was very close to an additional building on my property. I was well aware that my house and the additional building could be damaged or destroyed if the tree removal was not performed with absolute precision and care. I was very concerned about the
