Our systems use state-of-the-art technology with all components designed, engineered and manufactured in the United States. Most other companies are using products manufactured in China or Mexico which suffer from inferior quality and yesterday's technology. If you schedule an appointment with us, we're not going to send out a salesperson who's never installed a security system. With 5 Star Security you'll have at your disposal one of the most experienced electronic security technicians in the D.C. area to answer all your questions and design your system. We don't use subcontractors to install or service our systems as many companies do. We use only company employees. Subcontractors are in a rush to get the job done so they can get on to the next one and make more money. We schedule a full day for your installation and take the necessary time to do it right. We don't use "all-in-one" security systems which are used by most companies today because they are easy and fast and cheap to install. The problem is they are also easy and fast to disable by an intruder. Our systems are all "separate component" systems which are far more secure. We include phone-line seizure on every installation, a step skipped by many companies today because of the extra time it takes. Without phone-line seizure a phone off the hook will prevent your system from calling out in an emergency. We also offer cellular alarm communication with text messaging to up to three cellphones. With this feature you can also control your security system with your cellphone from anywhere. We don't use call-out delays in our monitoring service. These delays are programmed into your system by most other companies for one reason only: to increase their profits. The problem is it also compromises your security. With new systems we also provide for automatic daily testing of your system with the monitoring station at no extra charge. We know of no other local company that does this. Our contract provides for a move-out release and a performance guarantee. We know of no other local company that provides either of these consumer protections. Our monitoring station is located just over the Virginia border in Statesville, NC. With 45 years in business, they are one of the oldest monitoring stations in the country and are family-owned and operated. They currently monitor about 300,000 accounts nationwide. They are U.L. Listed, but exceed U.L. standards in several important areas. We have researched, visited and tested monitoring stations all over the country, including New York, New Jersey, California, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. He is a Washington area native, having grown up in Fairfax County. He has served as a volunteer firefighter in Loudoun and Clarke Counties. Robin Brookman is our office manager and customer care representative. She moved here in 2008 from Ohio where she had management responsibilities in a number of retail establishments.
