Window Replacement reviews in Arlington

There were two different teams that provided the service. One installed the doors and the other did the rest of the job. Both teams did an excellent job and we have been very satisfied with the service.

great company to work with. I liked that there were no high pressure sales - and that they were willing to work only with me while my husband was at work/travel. I ran into several other window companies who said "your husband has to be there for us to come out" .....

Even though I did not select
Arlington Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to perform the window replacement work,

did come out to give us a presentation and provide an estimate. The experience was outstanding from the first call to schedule through the extremely relaxed and informative presentation, and through the estimate and follow-up until I had made a decision. There was no pressure at any point in the process, no sales gimmicks, just a company with some great products that knows how to work with and treat potential customers. I went with another Angies List super service provider in the windows category that had a window of similar quality and a look we liked a little better for a slightly lower price. I will definitely have WoW on my short list for any future work.

We chose FWD because of their proposal's price. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of "extra" work that ended up needing to get done that we didn't anticipate, and we spent a lot out of pocket for materials that weren't in the proposal.
The first clue that this job was going south was the shifting times for actual work start date. When work finally began, we discovered that the cabinets they hung were not the size that we ordered. When pressed on this, the contractor stated that he ordered exactly what we asked for, which was a certain measurement. This wasn't the case: we actually said we wanted the cabinets to go to the ceiling. He argued that this was over the proposal budget, but he had never given us the option of seeing the differences in cost. In fact, the contractor kept NO RECORDS of the job. We pressed him time and again for a project plan, emails, ANYTHING written down on paper that could prove a logical order of request. He refused every time, stating, "I'm not in the habit of writing things down, and I haven't been for 30 years."
This type of unprofessionalism deeply disturbed us, and we felt that we were being bullied into accepting something that we hadn't requested because they had made a mistake and wouldn't own up to it. Calls to the owner went unanswered. Furthermore, the contractor continued to nickel and dime us on "other costs" like the grout for the backsplash or electrical work for the light above the sink. We ended up paying about 30% more than anticipated just to finish the job. Worse, the work was done sloppily: we kept having to have contractors come over and fix things like dings in the new cabinets and blemishes in the paint.
Ultimately, we like the kitchen we have now even though it's not the one we wanted or ordered. The ordeal of dealing with this contractor was not worth the quality of work we got, the time it took, or the price. We will never work with FWD again. For all you first-time remodelers, learn from our mistakes: get everything in writing and make that a condition of signing the contractor. We would gladly have paid more to have better project management.

I only received a quote from this company - no actual work was done. Even though they quoted me the lowest price of all the windows companies that I had stop by my place, I decided not to go with them since I didn't get a great vibe from the company - the salesman seemed pretty slimy. Also, apparently this company gives its customers discounts if they write them a good Angieslist review which made me feel like I can't trust the positive reviews that have been posted for them.

Everything went extremely well starting with a low key sales approach, to communicating as the process went from measurement for fabrication to installation, and prompt quality installation. The price was extremely competitive and window quality is excellent from the manufacturer. Installation quality is excellent including the metal trim and caulking which is much improved over what was replaced. There was no evidence that they were at my house except the new windows. Long term quality is the only thing left to determine over the next several years.

Amazing price out of all the companies contaced. I needed a bay window replaced and the came up with a solution to put in 5 casement windows, 2 of which roll out. The window was massive, a little over 7' high by 9' wide, looks great, they also installed safety glass, as the window went down to within 8" of the floor. They removed my old drafty aluminum framed windows and replaced them with energy efficient vinyl ones, my heating bill is manageable now. Fast service, quick appt time, and the installation was done in 1 day in less than 5 hours including spotless cleanup.

Renewal was very responsive to my request and sent
Arlington Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to give me an estimated cost. He was very through and not only checked inside but went outside to survey the job. He went over my requirements and helped me pick out what I needed. The costs were a little high but I believe in the quality and backing of the company to stand behind their products. There were a few small changes in my order which he quickly made. He had given me a early to mid December installation date but Renewal was able to get my an appointment date of 11/19 for the doors and 11/27 for the windows - I appreciate

's [installation coordinator] ability to get me set up so soon - I also appreciate

's not giving me an unrealistic date which they could not have made, getting it sooner was great.

came out 11/19 and installed the entry door and the 2 storm/screen doors. The home is 67 years old but he was able to make adjustments to fit them in. One storm door was combined with the new entry door, the other was put with a door on an addition built in 1968. I am very pleased with all my doors. My entry has a keypad deadbolt lock which I have used a number of times.

came out 12/3 [the 11/27 date was cancelled because of storms in the area], but Renewal kept me informed and was able to quickly reschedule the appointment - the 12/3's weather was much better. The 5 windows were replaced in the 1968 addition. They set up and put in all 5 windows in a timely manner. They left the place cleaned up and gave me instructions about how to use them. There was a definite smell from the installation and I was told that I shouldn't use the windows for 72 hours for the caulking, etc to set. Luckily I was able to close off the rooms from the rest of the house and since the weather wasn't bad I used my new storm/screen door [with the screen down] and a couple of fans to blow out the smell for a number of hours for the next couple of days. The smell is gone now.
All the workers were professional, pleasant and on time for their appointments. I appreciate that they answered questions that I had and performed the work well. The areas they worked in were cleaned up before they left. I was very satisfied with them.
My front door storm door started to not close properly. I called and they sent

out to check it out. He found that the bricks around the door were bowed so that the door frame wasn't exactly flush. He did tighten some screws and adjusted the strike plate and it closes much better. All my interactions with their employees like

who coordinated everything, has been pleasant and professional.

Our old wooden door and frame were both badly warped, and we knew we needed both a new door and the existing doorframe rebuilt. After deciding on

, the whole process was essentially effortless. We met with
Arlington Window Installers Provider Name Locked
, the salesperson, in the showroom, reviewed options, selected the door (a ProVia Signet fiberglass) and scheduled the installation for four weeks out, allowing time for door fabrication and shipment.

came out for initial measurements and another person came out for final measurements. We received a confirmation e-mail the day before installation. Installation was scheduled to start "between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m." and the two person crew arrived at 7:40. Installers indicated it usually takes 3-4 hours, sometimes less, sometimes more, depending on what they find when they remove the existing door frame. They were polite, professional, worked quickly, created no mess, did a beautiful job, and were done in less than 3 hours. I thought before the installation that I would probably have to do some minor plaster repair and touch-up after they removed the old door frame, but they did such a good job that they didn't damage any of the plaster. They re-installed the doorbell button, which required adding a little extra wire (the old wire was brittle, and some broke off when I removed the doorbell). They also matched the new trim to the previous trim. And it is a beautiful door! A worry-free experience from beginning to end.
