made my life a lot easier when I was re-doing my kitchen. I priced out appliances at about 6 other appliance stores first, and then met with

was fun to work with. He is very upbeat and helpful, and he explained the pros and cons of many appliances.
also beat the prices of the other stores, and in some cases by hundreds of dollars. I also purchased the five year contract, and...so far so good! I needed someone to come out one time just to adjust my refrigerator doors so that they would match (
&
had not done the original installation) and I had a bunch of other questions.
, the service person assigned to my area, is also amazing. He is friendly, knowledgeable and an expert on appliances. This was quite a relief to me because previously I had purchased a washer and dryer from a different appliance store, and had to rely on GE's service, which was absolutely horrible.

works hard to put together a nice package for customers, and to keep customers happy with their outstanding service. I also love how they sell only American-made products.

"The first item, a
range hood, did not work very effectively after installation. Eventually, a part broke off, causing B&S sent another service person who was able to quickly diagnose the problem: the first installer had not removed parts appropriate for a different type of venting. This was quickly rectified, and while it was a bit of a hassle, it was fixed.
The second item was a
gas cooktop. After lighting the high BTU burner and cooking on high, I attempted to turn the burner down. There was no reaction from the knob, and after removing the knob and being unable to turn the burner off by turning the stem, I was able to use a knob from a different burner to turn the burner off. Upon examining the faulting knob, I saw that the stem of the knob was cracked on two sides. Since I had purchased the five-year warranty package from B&S, I called their service number and asked if they could send a knob. They said they needed to send a technician out. Several days later, I stayed home for the appointment. The technician said I needed a knob (really?) but he did not carry them and would have to order them. It would take a week, but he would simply drop the package on my porch the following Friday so I would not have to wait at home again.
After two weeks and no package, I called B&S service. They informed me that "the knob had not come in yet" and they would call when they arrived. One or two weeks later, I received a phone message asking me to call. When I did, they informed me that the "service estimate" was nearly $200 for the broken knob. When I pointed out that this was covered by warranty, they said that this was a cosmetic issue and was not covered. Apparently, being able to turn the
on and off is a cosmetic issue. They suggested I call the 800 # of their warranty provider to discuss it further.
Instead, I chose to drive to the store where I purchased the appliances. I spoke with an assistant manager there, told him the story and showed him the knob. He repeated that the broken knob was a cosmetic issue and not covered, and suggested I return home and call
. Apparently, the fact that I had shelled out for a 5-year warranty package and invested nearly a month of phone calls, service appointments, and waiting did not free me from my obligation to continue my quest for a knob. A broken knob for my very high end appliance covered by the store's extended warranty.
I never received an explanation of why B&S had lied when I called and was told "the knob wasn't in yet", or why it took them nearly a month to tell me they would not provide the knob. But the assistant manager at the store felt that he had been extremely helpful in telling me to go home and call the manufacturer. (He also suggested that in the future, I call the salesperson who had sold me the product and ask them to follow up. Again, my failure: I did not try to
the salesperson who I had dealt with three years ago.) BTW,
was extremely apologetic and said they would mail the knob, along with a spare, for free immediately. Apparently, at least through the manufacturer, the knobs do not cost $200.
This was not the first time I had used this store for purchase, installation, and repair, and the other time (again for a kitchen appliance purchase and installation) was uneventful. However, the complete lack of understanding of customer service demonstrated here has convinced me to shop elsewhere.

"My family had purchased most of our appliances from
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
&

, despite the fact that we could usually find better prices elsewhere. We were fooled by their claims that they provide superior service and we thought that this would be enough to justify paying more. Since we purchase our home in 1999, we bought the following appliances from B&S: a refrigerator, 2 microwaves, 2 dishwashers, a trash compactor, a washer/dryer set and we even purchased a complete set of kitchen cabinets from them during a remodel in 2010. In many cases, we also purchased extended warranties from the retailer.

One of these extended warranties applied to the Viking trash compactor we bought in 2007. In late 2010, the compactor developed a problem and we called B&S for service under the warranty. A repairman came to the house and was unable to repair the problem. B&S ordered a part from Viking and the repairman returned. Again he was unable to fix the problem. B&S came to our home a total of 5 times attempting to fix the appliance, and they were unable to do so. After the most recent failure, the repairman said we would "just have to live with it." we've contacted

&
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
many, many times since then, but we could not get the slightest bit of attention until we filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Virginia and Maryland Consumer Protection Agencies. After a lot of stalling, they have now offered us a portion of the purchase price of the appliance as a cash settlement, Unfortunately, Viking no longer makes trash compactors and no other manufacturer makes one that is the same size (we'll never buy another Viking appliance again either), and the new cabinets and floor tiles are built to accommodate the current unit.

You'd think that our long purchase history with

would have gotten us a better response. Nope. Only after taking our case to the authorities did

make any attempt to settle with us and even then, they are not giving us the amount of money we need to rectify the problem. So we either take the settlement or go to court. Save yourself this problem and buy somewhere else.

"What a refreshing change from shopping at a big box store. The owner was helpful without being pushy, had just what I was looking for at a fair price and even suggested a slightly smaller machine to bring my cost down. The delivery window was only three hours (thus less time taken off work) and the dryer was delivered within the window and by two of the nicest and most polite delivery people I've ever had. Overall, this was a very easy and pleasant transaction."

" The touch pad computer went bad gradually, and hasn't really done anything but cook at 100% over the last 4 months. We reported it, and get a repairman (

Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
said it needed a new part, and ordered it, to be delivered in 7-10 days. The service dept called to make an appt, and my husband rescheduled his meetings to stay home. On that morning,
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
called to say that the wrong part came in. So
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
ordered a new part, which they said would take 7-10 days. Again, the service dept called to make an appt, and again, my husband scheduled around the day. And again,

called THAT MORNING to tell us that the wrong part came in. (That's two errors: by KitchenAid or B&S?)
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
ordered the part again, which would take 7-10 days. The service dept scheduled an appt again, and my husband made plans to stay home one more day. This time, the right part came in.
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
installed it, and told my husband it checked out. While he was here, my husband told him about our oven, which would not get hot enough to bake at a set temp (we had to trick it and set it 25-50 degrees
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
). He pulled out the oven, and discovered the problem was that one of the two computer relay sensors was fried. So he ordered a new one, which he told my husband would take 7-10 days. Anyway, we had our microwave back, YAY! I came home an hour later to hear the good news. Let's pop some popcorn, I say, and we press the popcorn button. It starts beeping, and then the screen goes dark. Dead We went a little berserk. This time I called the service dept, left a message (it was after 6), and asked to speak with a manager. The next day, I got a return call from a service person who said "Sorry, we don't have managers. And your microwave is six years old, they don't last too much more than that." I asked her what she would do in my shoes, and she said that she wouldn't know, because she can't afford to buy this kind of fancy microwave. Anyway, they ordered a new part, and
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
installed it today, 7-10 days later. He also pulled out the oven and installed the new relay computer. But in doing so, he cracked the glass stovetop. Now we can't use two of the burners. He said he'd order it, and the metal part around it. He left before I tried to microwave a potato. It failed in 5 minutes.(When he left, he assured me that he tried all the functions, and they work fine.) So, we are waiting for
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
to receive and install the third new computer for my microwave. And now he has to replace the glass stovetop he broke. (He made it clear that it wasn't his fault that the glass broke. The metal frame was bent, and that broke it. Although, he admitted, he may have bent the metal frame. previously.) I keep thinking that
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
's manager would have gotten in touch with us by now, to figure out why there are so many repair failures. Unless there are no managers.....? Next step: we're going back to the store.

"The selection of laundry machines were good. Bought it on sale and think we got a good price. Very pleased with the machine.
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
installed it and took away the old machine. The problem was that the guys who installed it hooked the hot water to the cold water - and the cold water to the hot water. We caught this quickly and repaired it ourselves before anything was ruined but it seemed pretty sloppy."

"Went in to buy a laundry machine without having read reviews or research.
Arlington Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
and Scraff sold us on a top of the line expensive, overpriced laundry machine. The thing was a piece of junk - nothing special about it and was replaced without years. Very disappointed with the advice given which seemed to play right into the "the more expensive it is, the better the quality" mentality."

"Their service was fantastic. They spent time with me and were very efficient. They were very courteous and showed my great models. The price that they gave me was very reasonable and it did come with a warranty."

"They came suggested to me from an appliance repair man. Their prices were in line with other companies that we had checked out. They were very easy to deal with. After we had flooring installed, the refrigerator seemed to be non-level somehow. They came back out and took care of it for us! We would use them again."
