"When I had my furnace cleaned by a local plumber, I asked the technician how dirty my system was, on a scale of 1-100. He told me that on that scale, my system was" only a 10, which was only a light film that barely needed cleaning. I was thrilled! I asked him why my system was so much cleaner than what I had expected. He told me that the reason was equally in part due to my burner running optimally and also the quality of fuel I purchase. B & B is 23 miles from Pottsville in Kulpmont, but they usually show up the next day when I call them. They are very very reasonable. At this point, I'd be afraid to get oil anywhere else, due to how clean burning their oil is, especially given their low prices.

"
and an apprentice installed a new furnace/ac unit and condenser coil during a
heatwave. They were polite, professional" got everything done in one day.
has been back to my home twice, once to tweak the system the following October when it was time for the heat. The second was when we thought we had a leak and he came out to check it out. He couldn't find anything wrong with pipes and suggested we re-caulk the tub. We did and haven't had a problem since. He didn't charge us for either of the subsequent visits. Would definitely recommend them!

Should I replace my current heating system?

Now that both oil and gas have risen in price and heating systems have become so much more efficient, it's wise to consider different replacement options.

Even supposedly empty fuel oil tanks are a risk for oil leaks and spills. Avoid costly cleanup and have your fuel oil tank removed by an experienced contractor.

I was very pleased with the entire experience. I was able to get my appointment scheduled promptly with all my questions answered. On the day of the job the crew called as promised to let me know when they'd be arriving. They were very punctual. They encountered a problem when they arrived- my bulkhead was covered in ice and snow and could not be used. The crew worked hard to find a solution including moving appliances and furniture to bring the tank through the house. Obviously this was challenging but they did it with no damage to my house or belongings. They returned everything to its correct place before they left. I was also happy they put down a plastic runner to keep snow and dirt off my floors. The entire job was done in 2 hours. The crew were polite and professional. I'm glad I found them through Angie's list.

They only filled the tank half way and left no note indicating that they would come again to top it off. I had to call twice to remind them that they should fill the system.

We had 30 gallons of heating oil left (we use about 5 gallons a day), so we ordered 100 Gallons of heating oil from
Alexandria Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
(since they are only a few city blocks from us) on Feb. 9th. We were told the delivery would take place on Feb.10 and were charged for the delivery on Feb. 11th. All other heating oil companies charge you AFTER they deliver the oil, so we figured it was delivered as scheduled and charged. We ran out of oil early Feb. 15. Because we had no heat and it was expected to get down into the Fahrenheit teens, we contacted their "24/7 emergency line" and they said they would get someone out right away... I called back later that day, and they said someone would call and get it delivered first thing on Monday. After dealing with a heat-less night, Monday rolls around and no call. So we call them back and they want to charge us a second time for the same delivery and that someone would be out shortly. After calling back at 3pm, they say someone may be out after 5 pm that day. While our patience was running thin we tried to be as cordial with the customer service staff as possible, but that was even made difficult because 2 out of the 5 calls made, the staff was short tempered, unknowledgeable, and unhelpful.

I later called another heating oil company, Capitol Oil, on Monday afternoon and they were able to deliver heating oil even before

's ineptitude, out boiler's pipes froze and we were without heat downstairs for 6 days with some of the coldest temperatures on record and on the 7th day, those pipes started leaking. Tried getting an "emergency plumber" but eventually had to go with another company, because again,

This company has been blacklisted from this property and all other rental properties I own and I strongly encourage new customers to look elsewhere first.

The deal I have with
Alexandria Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
is
Alexandria Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
. Refill my oil tank when it hits 50% full and charge it to the credit card that I have on file with them. This approach was necessary because I do not live in the house in the winter and delivery delays caused by snow storms could result in an out of oil situation which could cause tens of thousands of damage to the house from burst pipes.
On Thursday, February 19th, 2015, the temperature being in the high teens, I happened to come to the house for the weekend and found that the heat was working fine. However, within an hour, we ran out of oil. If we had not fortuitously made this visit, the house would have been ruined.
I called the company and learned that they did have a delivery scheduled for the next day, and would also send out a technician with both a few gallons of oil and the ability to restart the furnace by priming it so that we could get through the night. The technician, did come and gave excellent service, but did describe what a mess they had on their hands with so many of their customers running out of oil.
The next day, Friday, having received no oil by 1:30 p.m., I called the office and learned that the truck was on the way. Specifically, I was told that the truck was in Centerville and had four stops to make in that area and would then come to my house. The office staff member was confident that it would most likely be there within a couple of hours. She also commented that the company was in chaos.
After no truck had arrived by 5:30 p.m., I called the office again. This time, only the answering service responded and suggested that she could leave a message which would be picked up by the office early the next morning, thus leaving us without heat on a night on which the temperature was near zero. I successfully prodded the person at the answering service to come up with an alternative, and she called the field technician who was on duty that night. He did call me and explained that he was in Wellfleet and had several "out-of-oil" stops to make in that area and in Dennisport before coming to me, but would definitely be there. In fact, he did come with a bit more oil and was very nice as well as professional. He also commented about what a mess their customers were in.
Early the next morning, Saturday, I called the office again. The person checked the records and was unable to find out why the delivery had not been made the day before. She also commented on what a disaster they had on their hands because of the snow and customers not plowing their driveways. She also said that she would make sure that we would get oil that day.
Later that morning, a truck did come and our tank was finally filled. Thus, the immediate crisis was over. Nevertheless, my faith in
Alexandria Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
, whom I have used for a decade or more, has been seriously shaken. I am now in the process of trying to find a web-based oil gauge which will allow me to monitor my oil level using my smart phone, something that previously was not necessary.
In summary, the primary responsibility of an oil company is to ensure that its customers do not run out of oil. This is particularly essential in an area such as Cape Cod in which so many homes are used primarily for vacations. The claim that they are "doing the best that they can" is not reasonable. They should have been in direct contact with their customers by phone to alert them that they were probably going to run out of oil, hiring telephone help from a temporary agency if necessary. They should also have devised methods to know in advance if specific customers had not plowed their driveways, either by telephone or by sending someone out in advance using a car. It makes no sense to use a large oil truck to see if driveways have been cleared.
Alexandria Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
should be able to do a lot better than this and I hope that this public rebuke inspires them to up their game.

He came earlier than promised, and needed to get supplies so he left and came back when promised. It was also dangerous driving because we were also in the middle of a snow storm - we were worried he would cancel because of the snow but he didn't. Price was extremely fair, he got the furnace working with a temporary fix so we wouldn't have to leave the house.

I had to call the police because I ran out of fuel and they wouldn't call me back. She left a message for them and they called her back and they sent over a quarter of a tank and the police lady said it wouldn't last long, so I called Beacon and they came and filled up my tank without even knowing me. I have been here since 1957 and nothing like this has ever happened to me! I was so embarrassed to have to bother the town police for this but I was afraid because of the extremely cold temperatures and no heat. It was terrible and I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Contacted Superior when previous Propane provider proved to be just too difficult to deal with. Salesman Rich contacted me promptly and came out to house and fully explained their Propane services. Turns out Rich lives just a few houses next to mine. Rich set everything up including a delivery date that fit my schedule. Explained their contract completely and made sure I had all my questions answered. Arranged to make affordable payments to get everything set up considering it was already the heating season and my previous Propane provide had left me without Propane.
On delivery day Rich and the delivery technician (sorry don't remember his name) arrived on time as promised with all the new equipment and everything necessary to install two new Propane Tanks. The old tank was quickly removed and placed where I requested to be picked up by the old provider. Then the area was properly prepared for the new Tanks and the new tanks were installed and connected. The technician then fully tested the installation, making sure there were no leaks and making sure my furnace was functioning. The technician then took the time to fully explain about the new equipment, how the tanks would be filled and also noted for the delivery person where the tanks were located and best access. Finally the technician cleaned the tanks and touched up a few scratches. It was very obvious the technician cared about his work and wanted the equipment to present the best possible image. He also mentioned that as part of my contact with Superior they would clean and maintain the tanks so if I had any concerns to simply contact them and they would come out and take care of the issue.
The tanks came with enough Propane to last until the first filling which took place withing a few days, again on schedule. The driver delivered the propane by walking across the front yard and down a small hill to the back yard where the tanks are located. I had requested the tanks be accessed from the driveway which is shorter and safer for the driver. After calling Superior and explaining the situation they took note of my request and subsequent deliveries have been made via the driveway.
We have had no issues with Superior that have not been quickly and satisfactorily addressed and are too minor to mention here. We have been very pleased with Superior and it shows that working with a locally owned and operated company is far better. My only regret is that I did not switch to them sooner.
