This provider has been a problem for us for a while now. We just kept thinking things would get better, as we like to do business locally. In this most recent situation (there have been a couple of doozies!) provider came to fill the propane tank which I use for cooking and for a gas fireplace, and claimed it was completely empty leading to him disconnecting the tank. I was not home at the time, so they called me after the tank had been disconnected to arrange when they could come back to reconnect and do a "leak test". I proceeded to tell the man that I had been using the
that morning and I was sure it wasn't completely empty because things were working fine, and that I would not be home until after 4:30 that afternoon. A technician arrived at 4:30 to reconnect the tank and I expressed my upset to him that I had just used the
and all was well when I left the house that morning and I would not be paying this bill. The next day I received a call from the owner of the company saying that it was not possible that I used the
that morning because I had no propane. Despite describing to him exactly what I made on the
and oven, he did not believe me! To make matters worse, he charged me the overtime fee for the tech that came back out to re-hook us up because it was after hours at 4:30 pm. Technicians were pleasant and reasonable, even stating, "I'm sure it won't be an issue and we won't want to
a customer of such a minor issue" however the owner is not. Again, not our first issue with this company. We have since had them remove the propane tank and contracted with a new provider.

On this particular occasion, I was able to schedule an appointment for the afternoon that same day. The repairman was professional and experienced. He took the time to explain what the problem was, both visually and verbally, and why he was making his recommendations. He was there for approximately an hour and a half, and he resolved the problem. Were I rating
solely on the basis of this visit, I would give them all As except a B for price (I spoke with some friends after the fact and learned that the cost of the cleaning was somewhat higher than what they had paid their contractors).
However, I have not always been this fortunate with
, and I would give them mixed reviews overall. When I found water leaking from my HVAC unit in the basement, I called
for the first (and only) time for assistance. Again they were able to schedule an appointment promptly, and the technician arrived as scheduled. They charged me several hundred dollars for the "repair," and I wasn't quite sure what had been done. When the leaking began again a few weeks later, I called a new company (which is now unfortunately out of business) . That repairment told me that it was a clog in the condensation tube. He taught me how to do it myself in 5 minutes. Sure enough, I have been able to stop the leaking myself since then with that advice, without paying several hundred dollars for the pleasure.
From the perspective of oil service, "shop around for another company" is on my to-do list. Their rates are higher than industry, and the lock-in deals that they have only seem to favor the company. They also have an aggressive billing department. At one time, I was in a lock-in plan where you pay a set amount per month, which they determine based on their estimate of what you will use in the coming year. My actual oil purchases were well below the total amount I was being billed, and I had a *credit* that
above $2,000. When I received the next monthly bill, I was on vacation and returned a few days after the due date for the monthly installment. I was in the middle of paying bills when I checked my answering machine, and there were already 3 calls from their billing office inquiring as to where my payment was (notwithstanding the $2,000 credit). I discontinued that plan because it was only benefiting
, who was able to keep a significant amount of my money and make interest on it while harassing me for a payment that was just a few days late.
The oil replacement service has also been touch-and-go. I woke up to no heat last winter, and called
. They came over promptly, and the repairman told me that I had no heat because I had no oil. HMMM. Because
is supposed to routinely fill my tank without my involvement in any way, he made inquiries and learned that the last serviceman did not fill the tank when he visited because he "could not hear the whistle." Apparently a whistle sounds when the tank is full so the serviceman knows when to shut off the oil. I still don't understand how/why he decided not to fill the tank, since it seems to me that the problem would arise at the end of the service when the serviceman doesn't hear a whistle and the tank overflows. In any event,
filled the tank immediately and all was well, although I was charged the base service fee for the visit.
Then the same thing happened 6 weeks later, but at least someone had left a note on my garage door saying "whistle is broken." Another repairman visited and performed a diagnosis of the tank and confirmed that the whistle was functioning. When he tried to charge me the base service fee for his visit, I said that I shouldn't have to pay because their serviceman was having difficulty hearing. He admitted that this problem had happened at other homes with the same serviceman. He called
to fill the tank....and they sent back the same serviceman. Another note on the garage door!
It was *almost* funny at this point. Almost. I called
and requested that a different serviceman be sent to fill the tank from now on. In retrospect, I should have also requested a refund of the first service fee, but I let it go.

Our furnace

during the "Artic Vortex" in January 2014. We called Woods at 5:30 am, got a call back within half an hour and a service repairman was at our home within the next hour. Amazing service! A week later, we had a scheduled, full service check and tune-up of our system. Both the emergency call and tune-up were covered in our annual service contract which cost $234.
Four years ago, when we switched to Woods, they found a small leak in our tank and we needed to replace it before our first fill-up. [Previous company either didn't notice, or didn't care -- leak was very small, but we could definitely see it when it was pointed out to us.] Woods presented us with options for new tanks and payment plans. We had Woods replace tank with a new,

Our experience with Woods has always been great. They value our business and take great care of us.

Having just bought a house, we are new customers of this business. We had oil delivered, our heating, air conditioning and hot water systems (both natural gas and oil) checked out, cleaned and are now on a service plan. Every encounter we have had with them at the office and at our home have been courteous and professional. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and very efficient. At this point I am totally satisfied with the service we have received.

While working, they explained everything that was done. they inspected out old tank for leaks, there were none and inspected the soil around the old tank which was also clean. They completed with the work by 1pm. We were extremely happy and more than satisfied with the job done. they were very profesional, clean and went out of there way to explain everything. We would definitely recommend this company

"King" Arsi and his crew did a fast and efficient job of removing our old oil tank.
My only negative feedback was in setting up the appointment. The dispatcher did not call me when he was supposed to, and I wound up having to make the appointment for the next day.

did a great job estimating the cost and challenges of the project. Our old furnace was in a very confined crawl space, so removing it and moving the new unit into position was difficult. However, the technicians were very resourceful and the entire installation proceeded as planned and within budget. The duct work was also performed as promised. Three cheers for

I've got mixed feelings about how this went. First, the good:
I called about 7am and got a quote on the phone for $1895 before the Angie's List coupon. They arrived at 9:30, having already secured the permits and got straight to work. They brought a 275

tank which was too big for the space, so one of the guys went back to fetch a 225

tank. In the meantime, the second guy pumped the oil out of the tank (it was full) out of the old tank and got the area prepped. It took both guys to squeeze out the old tank from the small enclosed room it was in and put the new one in. Most of the work was through the bulkhead and backyard. By 12:30 I had a shiny, freshly painted oil tank. All very efficiently done.
Now for the bad. I was cleaning the mess in the basement - left mostly by my oil company and not

. I noticed that they had dragged the tank across the wooden basement floor, gouging in several places. I wasn't crazy about it, but whatever. What was worse was the backyard. It looks like they must have tagged/hit the retaining wall just right. One of the corner granite rocks was coming out. I took a few pictures and you can see them here (assuming I can get them uploaded). After I took out the pictures I examined the rock more closely, only to have it fall out and onto my hand. I stopped the bleeding and got the rock back in place, but it's clear I've got a serious problem. The retaining wall is necessary to hold back the back yard back away from the house. Now it's structural integrity will to be assessed. :(
