"This carpet has lots of issues. It is very expensive, requires a special kind of vacuum that costs hundreds of dollars, and requires special training to be professionally" cleaned. You have to vacuum every inch of it at least once a month - even along all walls/baseboards - because any dust or dirt that accumulates can attract carpet eating insects. It is a low profile weave, so seams are very hard to hide. It is made of all nontoxic materials (which is why I purchased it), but one roll doesn't really match another roll of the same color so you can end up with two tones in one room. It dents very easily so that impressions left by large furniture never rebound and leave permanent
wherever couches or large chairs have been sitting. It's wool, so when it's humid or rains, it smells like wet wool. I've had the carpet in my house for months now and even when it is hot, dry weather, it still smells like lanolin/wool in my house. Finally, the manufacturer has no customer service department, so the owner has all complaints messaged to himself but he never calls the customer back. The carpet is sold by very few dealers and one of them told me the owner/manufacturer is very difficult to deal with. If I had it to do over, I'd get Nature's Carpet out of Canada instead.

"Found this company on Angie's List which had an A rating and had was a Super Service Provider recipient and called to get information on their product. I had" already done some shopping and had some idea of what I wanted though I did not necessarily use the correct terminology. I spoke to
and listed the information I had so far, and he proceeded to tell me the information I was giving him was all incorrect and no such product was available. I had spoke to three other flooring companies prior to calling this company (with the same terminology) and they had no problems giving me the estimates over the phone.
informed me that companies like Home Depot could answer my questions (regarding carpet weight, 70
, or 1" pad with Teflon) because they had clerks that could look that information up on the computer, and then he proceeded to tell me if I wanted to buy his product, I would have to know what I'm talking about, or come into his showroom to choose from his product line. The
he used was belligerent, and his attitude towards me indicated contempt for wasting his time. Working in customer service for over 30 years, I felt a better way to handle a call like this would be to simply determine what the customer was saying by asking open ended questions, zeroing in on what they had in mind, and providing them with their request and encouraging them to stop in for a more personalized estimate. But instead he gave me the impression I was wasting his time and he began to lecture me on the proper procedure of shopping for his kind of product. I won't shop at this company, and I will encourage my friends and family to bypass this company when looking for carpet for their homes. This is not the kind of customer service is expect from a company that ranked so high on Angie's list.

How to choose the right carpet for your home

One highly rated provider shares important considerations homeowners should make when choosing the carpet for various rooms in their home.

Carpet and rugs

Wood or tile floors are good in some rooms, but most homeowners prefer to install carpeting in living rooms and family rooms, especially when children are small. Here are tips on the types of carpeting available and how to pick the right one for your home.

If you're looking for eco-friendly flooring, research the composition of the flooring, as well as the adhesives and glues.

Most  reputable carpet stores should be able to help you, they know what is available. and should be able to find a good carpet for a good price. sometlmes they will buy overruns that are a good value. Also,   make sure they do use a power-streacher when they install the carpet! Pat All Carpet Repair

Carpet with pad purchase cost $10-20 for really economy cheap stuff, $20-30 for normal brands, and $30-50/SY (square yard) for high-end carpet, to $100 or more for custom or gold thread and such.

Installation cost does not change much depending on what varpet is installed - generally about $10-20/SY.

So, for normal medium-range carpet I would assume $30-50/SY.

We were removing built ins in 3 rooms. In 2 rooms this left vacant areas at the
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
suggested using remnants from the carpet in the family room which we were also replacing, as opposed to new carpet in those rooms, as then it would not match the rest of the upstairs. We have already left the area, she did a great job working with us remotely and having our daughter come by to check the color match. Work done well and on time

This is the only vendor I will use for anything Flooring or Tile related. I stumbled into
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
approximately 10+ years ago when they had just opened their showroom on Center St, Deer Park, and I am so glad I walked in that Saturday afternoon and met Mr.
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
is a family owned and operated business that understands the meaning of SERVICE and PROFESSIONALISM.
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
has installed flooring in every house I've owned and every one that I purchase and remodel. They have removed old tubs and built new full tile showers. Installed kitchen granite countertops and backsplash. I've not found anything that they cannot do ...if you are wanting to do anything involving flooring or tile of any kind :"walls, floors, showers...etc" ... this is the place to call. Their prices are extremely fair and competitive and their professionalism and cleanliness on the job site is excellent.

Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked

I left
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
, owner, a text message and he got back to me within 30 minutes. He asked that I text a photo of the damaged area, which I did, and he sent me an estimate and said he could do it the next day at 0830.
He arrived promptly and we selected the best remnant for the patch and repair work. He also looked at the large, basement room that needed to be re-stretched and and gave me an estimate.
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
moved the tack strip and 'cut-in' the new piece using heat sealing on the seam. Looks great!
Next he moved to the basement and power stretched the carpet after drilling and re-nailing the nail strips. The carpet looks like new.
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
was punctual, professional and cheery to work with. Couldn't ask for better service. I will definitely use him again for carpet needs and recommend his work to others without reservation.

.Quoted a price of $2,491.84 to install 552 sq ft of carpet. The price quoted was to install"Rip up old carpet, install pad, and install carpet over pad". The price was $441.00 for the pad, installation standard (pad and tack) $662.40.
When the installer removed the old carpet he showed me the underneath pad was in perfect shape, no black spots, no buckled pad and said I don't really need to redo with a new pad. I asked him a couple of times if he was sure and he ensured me no problems. I told him OK and will save me the expense. Problem is
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
only took off the pad and nothing for the hours the installer saved not removing the pad, hundreds of tacks ,and cutting and installing the new pad.
When I brought this to the attention of
Smithfield Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
I was told that the install price was the charge whether he removed the old pad and installed the new pad or he didn't. I don't know why I wasn't told that I am paying for work not performed and would have changed the pad. I cannot believe a businessman is paying his installer money for 2-3 hours of work he didn't perform but i am.
