I've heard of many other, very recent, horror stories about their overcharges, but you can find those yourself on the net. It won't take much. "

"I purchased a mobile phone
8, 2014 online and requested it to be sent to the
Park location. I was told I would receive a notification when the phone was available to be picked up. That the phone would be ...more held for 4 days. if I did not pick it up by then the order would be cancelled. I never heard from the store so on the 12th I attempted to call for hours numerous hours and no one ever picked up the line. I called the national number. They attempted to call the location also a couple of times and were unable to get through. The customer service person checked the stock and said the location had 5 of the phone, but they could not help me until after the 4th day in which the order would be cancelled automatically. "

"Although I have had great reception and good internet speeds, our service went out on 7/1. We called to report it and they attempted to troubleshoot it over the phone. They decided it was the modem and rather than send a technician to the house, fed ex'ed a modem to us which took two days to arrive. At that time we again called the service center ...more who walked us through installation and setup over the phone. (it is now
3rd). Nothing they could do, resolved the service issue and so they scheduled (finally) a technician to come to the house for the following day from 8am to noon. The technician arrived at 12:00 (no kidding), fiddled with the modem for 5 minutes and then reported that the problem was outside the house. He said he would set up an outside technician appointment who would be there within the hour. That technician never showed. We called the service line again and were told an outside tech would be at the house between 4pm and 8pm. The tech never showed.
I called the service line the next morning, (
5th) only to be told "I don't know why they told you a tech would come out on Independence Day, but someone will be there today between 4pm and 8pm". They never showed.
I called again the next morning and asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me that she "guaranteed" the service would be repaired that day. (Sunday,
6th). It wasn't.
We decided to give it one more day just in case the mess was caused by the holiday weekend. So called again on Monday,
7th, and were told that we were at the "top of the list", they had a large service back log due to the holiday but "assured" us the repair would happen between...you guessed it... 4 pm and 8pm.
They didn't show. We decided to call the local cable company,
communications, who arranged for installation the following day and then actually came the day they said they would. So after a full week of no service (t.v. or internet) from AT&T, I am back in the 21st century.
I will NEVER do business with AT&T again. Lousy service, lousy service recovery and perhaps if their service call volume is so heavy they can't respond in 7 days to problems- lousy product. "
"It went horrible. Nothing was resolved and I ended up getting off the phone with a CSR because I had been on the phone so long the battery was going to die. They were so rude. Later I tried chat, they had me do the same thing. run all over the house. Then the csr said she would send out a tech but I may have to pay a service charge if they decided it ...more was my fault.
I had volume on all but one channel. It was reported by multiple people. It was not just my home. Yet, they still had me go through all the cable boxes, giving them serial numbers and unplugging and then plugging back in boxes and TVs.
I then found out that the CSR I was chatting with (I had already chatted with one CSR and spoke on the phone with a local CSR) was overseas and had my account information. I did not have ANY IDEA that they outsourced CSR chat reps overseas and also gave them access to out private account information. Now, I worry about ID theft.

quite a few years. My one big complaint is that the wireless phone quality in and around my his bad. For some reason, I cannot get a good signal in my house, or even for blocks down the street. In fact, when the serviceman was finished installing my internet, phone and Fios, he tried to ...more call his supervisor to let him know he was done, and even HE had to drive several blocks to pick up a signal. To be very fair, my wireless phone is not a smart phone, and is even probably not the highest quality phone that money can buy - I didn't buy it,. It's an LG and is close to 6 years old. I also believe that part of the problem could be my house. My wifi reception was terrible when trying to stream Netflix only approximately 25 feet away from the router ( a couple of rooms and the front hall). But when we got a loong cable to bring the router about 10 feet closer, reception got much better.
But let me tell you what I like about
. I signed up for the "triple play" promotion - internet, phone and Fios when they were handing out $300 gift cards. Somehow I lost the card shortly after receiving it in the mail. The rules for the gift card clearly stated that lost cards won't be replaced. Well, after searching all over the house, I decided to call them anyway. The customer service rep was very nice and told me she could send a new one and I would only have to pay a $6 fee. That seemed fair enough to me, and was much appreciated. I am really enjoying Fios. I didn't get anything fancy - no "rewind & replay" and didn't even sign up for any premium channels. Still, just the basic plan gives me tons of channels. Amazingly, out of the blue they gifted me with several months of free HBO - not only was it free, they said they would remove it at the end of the free period, no need to do anything.
I love using their online chat service to solve problems. I've used that convenience a number of times, sometimes just with questions. Always helpful.
is a big company, one that for some reason, some people like to hate. I don't get that. I do, however, have a theory about people who get terrible customer service - I wonder just how nice and patient THEY are when talking to customer service. I try to keep in mind that I'm dealing with a real person, one that might not be having the best day. "
"Trying to get my account initially set up was a fiasco. Numerous calls to their call centers. Many rude representatives that disconnected me or transferred me to the wrong department. I was advised that their computers were down, only to have to start all over again. I had to contact their corporate office to resolve the many issues I experienced. (including ...more a duplicate account that AT&T set up in error.)
I ended up contacting the corporate office, and now all appears to resolved.
