"I am very pleased with the product, process and professionalism! I contacted these folks on the recommendation of my neighbor, who had extensive work done by this" company. The owner met me to discuss, and measure for my gates. He spent a lot of time understanding exactly what I was looking for. He was on time for all appointments, and always returned phone calls promptly. He spent a lot of time finding exactly the hinging and latches I wanted, while providing good advice on reliability and quality of the hardware. He took the time to personally bring samples of gate hardware for my approval. The estimate was sent to me online as I requested, and reflected what we discussed. The work was completed on time and on budget. They are beautiful! We are very happy. This is a contractor that provides old-fashioned service, and does excellent work. Best experience ever!

"The fence took them a day to replace. It looks better than the original fence did when it was new. I was afraid that they might not want to do the job because" it is such a small fence / gate, but they did. They did a very nice job, left the yard clean and seemed very professional. They exceeded my expectations. I understand that they also do decks. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

I would say depends on several things:

1) what % of the job is $400 ?

2) how good is the warranty - against all types of failure, or what - cedar fences usually fail in one of two ways - tornado/hurricane/waves/flood/car collision takes them out, or the posts (if not treated timber) rot out. The fence itself will change color and get fuzzy as it weathers, but should last 15-20 years in most areas.

3) generally, a fence is not something you would pay for a warranty on - if properly put up and with concreted-in copper chromate or copper napthalate treated posts (the green preservative) should last a long time and not need warranty work basically till the fasteners fail or the fence slat boards split too badly.

4) if I was going to spend extra money on a wood fence, it would be for a good quality penetrating sealer, not steel posts.

We called 3 or 4 gate installers and Pat was the only one who responded. His bid was acceptable, so we hired him to do the work. He came out on a very hot, hot day and worked all day to install the gate, and openers. I was impressed by how hard this man works. The garage door opener has been wonderful! My car was stolen out of our detached garage a week previously, so having an opener that is compatible with a wireless monitor that alerts us when the door is opened has given us some peace of mind. The gate and gate opener, however, posed some problems. The gate opener is very technical and beyond our ability to troubleshoot, so we had to call him out a few times (once was our fault because we accidentally loosened the electrical connection without knowing it). I felt terrible having to call him out since we live in Vacaville and he is all the way in Citrus Heights. Most of the time, he came right out without any complaints. We did, however, have a little trouble scheduling him once because his brother died, but he came out as soon as he returned from the funeral. The latest problem was when the opener broke away from the gate. Another gate opener installer told us the metal on the farm gate was too thin to hold the weight of the opener, and a metal "sleeve" should have been welded to the gate before welding the opener. After a few tries to have Pat fix the problem (his wife was in the hospital), Pat came out and attached a "sleeve" to the gate then re-welded the opener to the "sleeve." I asked him why he didn't do that in the first place, and he said he didn't have the metal and wanted to install the gate as quickly as possible for us. Be assured that if he installs an opener to a farm gate in the future, he won't make that mistake again. The gate opener has worked perfectly since then and is also connected wirelessly to a monitor that alerts us when the gate is open. Overall, we are pleased with Pat's service.

is one of the best house warming gifts anyone could have given us. He has handled everything from screen replacement and painting to a six figure whole house renovation without an issue. I trust not only the quality of his work but the honesty of his opinion and have recommended him to friends in both of the subdivisions where we own homes. Owning rental property from 450 miles away isn’t easy but as a long time property owner I can tell you when you find a quality contractor with integrity hold on to him.

Co. put up the original driveway gate ~30 years ago and left their sign with phone number on the fence! How handy for me, as I desperately needed the gate repaired. The posts holding the gate were beginning to lean towards the ground, which made the gate drag and hard to lift off of the concrete to open it. They repositioned and re-sank the posts to pull the gate upright again, and now it opens and closes with ease. The nice woman answering the phone at the company told me it would take about a week for the estimator to come out and another 3 weeks for the work to be done. Once the man came out and saw how small the job was, they fixed it the next week, approximately 3 days later! I would recommend them and use their fence services again.

came to my house yesterday, a saturday, as I requested. They were on time, they did a job that I could not possibly have done myself, and I was astounded at the work they accomplished in the short time it took - under 2 hours I think. They brought everything they needed. He took one look at the gate and knew exactly what needed to be done, and why the previous installation failed. He answered my questions about different types of openers.
They started by setting up a giant fan and umbrella as it was 102 degrees and this job was directly in the sun. In other words, they know exactly what they are doing. Then they heated and actually bent (to straighten the slight 3/8" offset) a 4" square gate support post. That aligned the gate. Then they welded it to the other 4" gate support. They removed the Liftmaster POS opener and made the resulting defect look like new. They installed the Nice actuator-style opener, programmed it and 3 remotes and a keypad, assured smooth operation, spent 15 minutes with me detailing operation, and cleaned the job site which included taking away the POS which is good as I hope I never see it again! He reviewed all maintenance like change the battery in 4 years, and showed me exactly how to program the keypad to change the code if I ever need to.
The gate operates smoothly and perfectly, noting it has been one day. We will see if it stands the test of time but it is a very solid, correctly done installation that is much different than the 3 prior ones I've had done on this gate, all of which have failed.

states this is a customized, more robust and sturdy system than others, and I believe him. It looks very stout.
Nothing is perfect, and if I didn't come up with something to criticize, then what use would a review be? There are 2 small adhesive-backed felt pads he put on the gate stop to cushion the closure. He pointed out that those might water-log and need to be replaced in about 2 years. He suggested I put some silicone sealant around them. Why he didn't just do that is a mystery.
So that's so minor it is unimaginably picayune, and I'm just trying to illustrate that this job was a close to perfect as any job could be, and I am very skeptical/particular. I've had many jobs of this type done on this house and others, and

's job was the best experience of them all.
He was on time, courteous, polite, respectful, prepared, knowledgeable, and probably most important of all, RESPONSIVE! He answers emails, texts, and phone calls. He has clearly achieved superior expertise in this field.

My driveway gate was not closing properly and was making loud noises when opening. I called Customer Security Fence and Ironworks because I have used this company before. The technician arrived early. When I went outside he already had the gate open and was working on it. He told me that there was nothing wrong with the gate or the motor. The problem was that the gate hinges simply needed to be greased. Frankly, I felt kind of dumb for not figuring that out. But the technician was so nice about it. He explained that the gate needs to be greased one a quarter if needed. He showed me how to use a grease gun, how to grease the hinges, and what type of grease to use. I purchased a grease gun online and have recently greased the hinges. Worked great. The company clearly disclosed that there was a trip charge of $125 (not applied to work performed) plus materials. I thought the trip charge was kind of pricey especially since no portion of it is applied to the work. Oh well... Live and learn. I like this company and will continue to use them. It was a good experience.

Asked for a bid, after a no show the first time, the salesman showed up to bid the fence. I tried to schedule 3 weeks out to coordinate with concrete work being done. Salesman said it had to be at least 5 weeks. So we agreed on a week and I rescheduled the concrete work so the leveling would be done but before concrete was poured.
When the week came the concrete contractor had the ground at level and I needed

to install a sleeve in the ground that would later be in the concrete and hold a post for the double gate. Their crews were busy and one was on vacation so they could not come. I could not put off a 40 yard concrete pour so I convinced the salesman to drop off the sleeve and I dug the hole by hand and installed myself (still cost $100 for this metal tube).
Two more weeks go buy and the post team set an appointment for Thursday, I call off work and wait for them. At 400 they call, something came up. The next day they show up and I am told that they are not responsible for anything they hit underground. "But don't worry it is all hand dug" I am then also told they will not remove from property the dirt taken for the posts. Of course if I wanted to give the guy extra money he will take care of it. I leave and when I come back a large pile of dirt is sitting on my drive way along with several twisted up sections of sprinkler pipe. Pipe was obviously hit with an auger. Time it took to shovel all the dirt into my truck and take it to the dump was several hours. $27 dollar dump fee and $20 to wash the seagull crap off my truck after. Then another 5 hours to fix all the sprinkler pipe dug up.
I called the salesman. He said it was standard practice to leave the dirt. According to him all fence companies do that, I did not check but I cannot imagine that is true. My last fence did not come with a pile of dirt in my driveway. After I complained the salesman knocked $30 off the bill. Not worth it.
A week after the posts were installed the team that puts the fence and gate parts together came. The fence actually looks pretty nice and the gates work perfectly. The only problem is on one section they cut the slats too low and there is a gap between the top rail and the slats about a finger width and about 3' long. I sent pictures to the salesman and called him. He said someone will be right out to fix it. That was June 29th. As of
Highland Driveway Gate Installers Provider Name Locked
17th it is not fixed and I have not heard from them. The bill came in the mail requiring my prompt attention. Fence is paid for and still not fixed.
tldr; company was unprofessional. Treated me like they were doing me a favor. Could not keep an appointment and, so far, have not fixed their mistakes. If I knew how to attach pictures I would. The fence will be nice when it is fixed, sturdy and looks good. I just don't like how I was treated. I intentionally did not go with the low bid to avoid just this kind of thing. You should know that removing the dirt will cost you extra money and 100' of fence was a pick-up full of dirt. If you don't mind this kind of treatment at least save money and go with a lower priced company.
