"The phone was not working properly ... no dial
. The bigger problem was that you could not receive a call on the phone. Could not hear from" one phone to the other. Contacted person we purchased the phone from. Was advised that we needed to purchase new wires. Purchased wires, still didn't work, had an phone tech out to check but there was nothing wrong with the line. Contacted person again but was not able to contact. I want to alert Angie's List members not to purchase from this provider.

"I am interested in International dialling to Europe. First I called the "leader" vonage, they told me that they would charge me $8 a month in taxes and" fees,
only charges me 3.83 so it is clear that Vonage is looking to pad their prices. Then Vonage is 35 a month after the first six months, so clearly more expensive over a 12 month + period. Plus no shipping fee from

Took awhile to get through to them, but eventually did and the transfer went over smoothly. The only complaint is that they didn't follow up on prior phone calls made to them with the promise to get back to me.

So, I just wanted to warn folks about

. They have a rather unethical practice of giving you a deal for 12 months when you sign up for a package with direct tv which is a 24 month contract. Essentially, you pay $35 per month for shoddy internet (its fast, but stops pretty often for about 5 minutes and then starts working again roughly about 3 times a day... my wife is studying online, so that's how I know) but when the 12 months is up and you're on autopay, they charge you $70 for internet until you catch it... and its absolutely not work $70. Anyway, I caught it and called them up to find out that I needed a new 12 month contract. Okay, so I did that. Then about 8 months later I was at the end of my 24 month contract with direct tv and cancelled it (we really just didn't watch that much tv). First I called

to see what ramifications would exist if I stopped service with Direct tv and they said 'none, you're price won't go up at all, you're under contract and you'll just need to renew it when the period is up'. Okay, so 4 months later, the price goes up (without warning by the way, they aren't like other companies that honorably send you a notification of your amount going up, so you have to keep track of it which is a pain) and I try to call... nope, 7 pm. I try the chat thing, that doesn't work either because their lines are full... finally I get someone in the chat thing, explain the situation and they tell me I have to call their billing department... tomorrow. When they open, I call right away and spend some time navigating their poorly designed automatic system and finally speak to a representative. The rep informs me that the previous agent was absolutely correct, my prices would not go up for canceling direct tv, but that my contract had expired and they would not renew it because I didn't have a landline or direct tv. Anyway, as bad as the internet service is, I'm moving over to another company. Apparently for only a few dollars more than I was paying, I can have a home phone and internet with other providers.

Their customer service is horrible and is very poor. I really dislike the atomization and then get cut off after 40 minutes. Average calls with them are about 40-50 minutes and talking time with an actual person is about 2 minutes. Once I do get someone, they are good. They do come quickly if I have a problem too. I repeatedly have problems with their equipment. Their prices are high as well.
