Last year I called
for a quote. Someone came and left a note in my box that they would e-mail me a quote. I waited and waited, no quote. I proceeded to call and received a call back but still no quote. There was a toll fre number but when I called it would re-rout me to this same person. DONE
This year I decided to try again . They advertise on radio stating they leave a quote in same day in your mailbox if you are not home. This time I called and reached customer service they said they would have someone call within 3 days. well it has been a week I've yet to hear from anyone

(the owner) and Ilan are hands down the best contractors I've ever worked with - and I rehabbed my house, unfortunately before I met them! They are incredibly honest, great at communicating and their sub-contractor who I worked with, Mardo, and his crew were fantastic and incredibly great to work with.
I had thick pavers installed in the back patio area and we were originally going to use mortar to set them, but Mardo noticed that the neighbor's patio was set with sand, and may have been part of the problem with water coming into my basement. So, because of that, we decided to pour concrete instead, and it did in fact help fix the water leakage problem! The crew was amazing, and they worked incredibly hard to finish the work well and were even ahead of schedule! The patio looks fantastic now.
They also roughed out my shower so that I could install tile and did a great job with that.
They really have gone above and beyond and they are now my go-to people to call if I ever need a contractor. Could not recommend them more highly.

Short version:
They responded quickly, gave me a fair price, quoted me for semi-solid stain and applied solid deck cover instead. I was happy with the quoted price and the quality of work. However I was quite peeved that I was quoted semi-solid (even had a detailed conversation with DRS about the brand, color, and type of stain (semi-solid) I wanted to have applied. Yet they still applied solid stain.
Full version:
DRS was very quick in responding to my initial request for a quote. The price for the size of my deck (approx 700 sq. feet) was very fair (approx. $1000.00). I discussed with them that the deck was only stained once since it was built in 2010 and was stained with the same brand of stain that DRS uses (Defy). I informed them specifically of the brand, color, and type (semi-solid) that was used on the 1st staining and they agreed to use the same thing. They estimated doing the work in approx. 2 to 4 weeks. They were upfront about not giving me a solid start date, since it had been very rainy and the forecast was calling for rain for the next several days. The person from DRS told me they wanted to get the best result, which required the deck being dry before cleaning and applying stain. I appreciated their honesty and agreed to their estimated time frame.
After about 4 weeks, I ended up receiving a voicemail on Sunday afternoon from DRS saying they would be there the next morning (Monday) to start the pressure washing. I have to say, their notice was a little short and I'm glad I was home to clear off the furniture before their arrival. I called them back to tell them I was ready and asked when they would actually do the staining. I was told "later in the week" (Thursday / Friday), since rain was forecast for Tuesday. I arranged to work from home on Thurs. / Friday since I wanted to be there to see them get started. DRS never told me I had to be home, but I like to make sure everything goes according to the quoted plan. When I came home from work on Tuesday, I was surprised to find my deck had been stained with solid stain. NO ONE CALLED ME to tell me they were coming on Tuesday and no one said anything about solid stain. The actual quote, specified they would be using "System #2" which specifies "solid stain", but the person who provided the quote hand wrote "semi-solid" above the "solid stain" description. Regardless of this quote and our specific conversation (a month earlier) about using semi-solid stain, they applied a solid deck cover without notifying me they were coming or using that stain.

They preformed well did it all in one morning. I let it alone for a week. When I when out to walk on it I found a few spots where the paint had chipped away and some spots in between the boards that didn't get the paint. He also stated " I can't get all the green removed" I signed the work order as "the problem or issue is NOT RESOLVED". Nick said he had contacted the home office and reported to

that I planned on pursuing my complaint via BBB, Angie's List, Indiana Attorney General and whatever negative reviews I can post on the internet. I also told him that I planned to be at any Indianapolis home shows where Seal Smart advertises with enlarged pictures of my deck.
I fully intend to make life miserable for Seal Smart. Their 25 year warranty is worthless. They just want to make excuses and hide behind some wording on their brochure and contract, even though the wording on my contract says "Bring Back wood to a natural state".
