Met their rep at a houston home and garden show last
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
. Then met and signed agreement in September in their
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
fwy office, but the appearance of the same consultant made me a little hesitant, but I went against my better judgment. Didn't hear from the consultant for nearly 2 months. Met him again at another home show out in Cypress/Spring area and again he said project could be done by May, 2014. He gave us a very strong impression that he didn't really care about our project. We requested for a new consultant, and the owner,
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
Watts was helpful with that. Their designers were fantastic, even still lots of delays. Finalized plan was delivered in April, after getting a new consultant in March. We are pouring our slab next week, and it's now mid-August, nearly a year since we signed the agreement. We are still not sure what the role of the paid consultant is, since we have had to get information from the subcontractors ourselves. The subcontractors know each other, and they coordinate with each other to get the jobs done and that is SO wonderful!!! They are also very helpful, and actually suggested ways for us to save some money! I get my answers from them, from the permit runner (Imperial Permits), and from their office manager Ms
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
. The subs, office manager and
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
the owner of permit company made the most hectic part of the project a tolerable experience. I would definitely use the subs and the permit runner office again, and have recommended them to friends who are looking for quotes. I cannot in all good faith refer the owner build network now that I've had some experience with them and the reason is this: If I have to do all the leg work, why am I paying them over $8000? They do give you binders of material, but most of the content do not apply if you are building within the city limits, and that bit of information you can find by yourself on line.

This was through the RePower Kitsap County program.
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
came out to do a bid on the project. He was friendly. The problem is that he was unable to provide a professional quote. The first one was a non-detailed, lump sum quote that left our loan officer scratching her head. We told him that we needed a full quote. Half the time he ignored our calls/texts/email. We would contact him and he would tell us that he would get back to us in a few days. Then he would say a week. Still nothing. Then after a month we finally gave up and told him that we were moving on. He finally responded and said that "he was very busy and doesn't make any money writing up quotes". No kidding...he actually said that. Uhhhhh...don't you actually need a quote to make money? Bizarre. The fact that he couldn't provide a
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
, professional quote in a timely manner made us question how he would handle the entire project. We are relieved that we discovered how he operates now rather than in the middle of a project. We have everything documented in writing.

We live on an acreage on the top of a bluff. In late winter we had a lot of cement board siding get blown off our house on the west side. (We would later learn from
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
Knoblach that it wasn't installed correctly which lead to the failure) We were planning on replacing the windows on that side of the house, so we took this opportunity to have it all done at once. We had a couple of other contractors come over and give us estimates and they were all in the same ballpark, but
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
was the only one who took the time to explain what he was going to do. He also took the time to look at the siding that had came off to determine why it had came off to begin with.
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
and his partner
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
did an excellent job with all aspects of the job. Our house is 3 stories tall on the west side, so they had to erect a lot of scaffolding to reach everything. They even hand nailed all the siding to ensure the nails went into the studs, and not just loosely into the sheathing like it had been before. They also did an excellent job replacing all the windows, and caulking everything afterwards.
Overall they did a great job and I would highly recommend them.

The masonry and plumbing work were clean and barely made a mess in the 5 day process of demolition to finished product. The price was $3500 under what other contractors were offering us. The level of professionalism and creativity were exactly what we were looking for in a contractor. Any changes were immediately communicated with us from the angle of the seat to the direction of the doors opening. It truly was a custom built job to our specifications. Since then he has returned to our home for 2 other projects, all done beyond our Expectations. HIRE HIM!

We hired
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
Beugnies of
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
initially to do home management for our 2nd home. He then began finding several things to repair. Initially, we hired him for a small insulation job, which went ok, except that it took him 3 times as long to complete as promised, and then we later found panels of insulation missing, a shattered light bulb still in it's socket (which had clearly been recognized as the glass was not on the ground)-which posed a fire hazard, especially with the house not occupied full time. He promised to rectify these issues but never did.
Despite this, we later hired
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to do an excavation project around our house--regrading the land around the garage and improving drainage from around the foundation. He quoted us that the project would take 5-10 days. The project began at the end of Sept. When the end of Oct approached, I began to contact
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
more frequently to request info on the progress of the project (we were living across the country at the time) and he would frequently ignore my calls/emails/texts or answer and tell me it was almost done with specific details. Finally, we had a friend go and inspect the house. He found that no progress had been made since the initial digging in early October and there was significant damage done to the siding and frame of the house by the excavation equipment. I confronted
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
with this and he gave me a line of excuses, including stories of medical issues with his wife that did not make any logical sense (I'm a physician who frequently deals with the issues he was claiming existed and what he said was totally unbelievable). He stated that he lied to us because his foreman lied to him and that he'd fix the problem and get the job done in the next week. Well, the same pattern continued with nothing being done,
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
making excuses and soon it was May. I also found out that he had not been doing the home management that he was supposed to be doing either--boxes we'd had shipped to the house with items he was supposed to have used were buried in the snow when we visited in the winter, our hot tub had frozen, etc. etc.
Finally, I asked
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
for a refund and decided to hire another company to fix the work. Other contractors in the area that
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
had rented equipment from told me that he didn't pay them for their services and that they were trying to track him down. An exact quote from one of the well-respected excavation companies in town is that
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
is "...a joke. He doesn't know what he's doing at all." Consistent with his prior behavior,
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
promised a refund but never delivered despite multiple phone calls and emails. I had to contact our credit card company and file a dispute to get a partial refund. I would have gladly paid twice as much to a competent person/company to avoid the headache of constant
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
, needing to constantly try to track him down and get details and the frustration of now needing to correct the damages that he inflicted and incompetent work that he performed.
Bottom line: The man is dishonest, immoral, incompetent and essentially a criminal.

San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
was great with the initial follow up and arrived on time at my home to look at the space and provide some rough numbers for a small laundry room addition. I was pleased with our discussions and the materials he showed me regarding some of the company's projects. He took some notes and some measurements and promised to get back to me within a week. After several weeks passed, I reached out and he apologized saying he was swamped and would get back to me. I never received the formal estimate. After a couple months passed and I considered expanding the scope of my project (I had put my contractor
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
on hold), I again reached out and asked him to consider a larger addition. He made another appointment with me, called when he was running behind schedule and even showed up despite having a terrible cold.. Again, he was pleasant but the range for his rough estimate for the initial project had jumped by $8,000-10,000. We discussed two options - initial and expanded project scope - and again he left promising a formal estimate. I never received anything from him.

I was pleased with our discussions and
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
was very respectful. His company seems to do good work from the reviews here and the materials I have seen. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a formal estimate so we never made it very far in our negotiations. I suspect, like many contractors, the season and availability of other projects greatly impacts the efficiency of staff in producing estimates as well as estimating the cost of the job.

We contracted with
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to have a house built. The experience was not what we had expected or hoped for. Our house building process was very stressful and included numerous problems and delays along the way. Nearly 18 months after moving in, we are still waiting for
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to meet the contract terms and complete fixes on the house that were part of our move-in punch list. Communication with the company has been awful. Follow-up, obviously, is lacking. We literally have to nag the builder to get any work done. And still, we continue to wait for
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to fix the remaining problems.
Here's just one example:
Our contract states: "All cabinets, including secondary bathrooms, will have dovetail drawers."
As of mid-August 2014,
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
has not installed dovetail drawers with the cabinetry in our master bathroom, this despite even providing us dates back in June 2014 by which the work would be complete, but ultimately never occurred.
These are the types of assurances we have received from
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
:
"I hope all is well with you and your family. I will make sure that you are taken care of. I will speak with
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to finalize the remaining punch items in your home as well. I will have him contact you soon to go over the details.
Thank you,
Nick Renzella
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
Group"
That e-mail was sent on December 19, 2013. Here, near the end of August, 2014, we still continue to wait for
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to complete the punch list fixes and satisfy its end of the building contract.
I have spoken with other
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
customers that have had similar problems with
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
following up to complete punch-list item repairs.
Were I to build another house, I would not hire
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
afterthis experience.

While I appreciate all of
San Angelo Home Builders Provider Name Locked
's ideas and his prompt arrival for our estimate appt., his pricing was way out of my price range and I felt it was way too high. To re-pupose my metal shed into a playhouse for my son, we talked about adding 2 windows and a singleshelf on three of the walls (like a desk-top shelf), putting in particle board as a flat surface flooring (on top of the cement floor already there) and finally a vent at the top of the ceiling to allow for air flow. This came to $1800. I felt this was way too much for what we were doing...I feel like I could build a new, yet smaller, playhouse for my son for this amount. I thought re-puposing my metal shed would be cheaper. The deck was pretty steep too...around $3500, as I recall. I haven't had a deck built in a while, but this seemed rather high for the amount of decking we talked about. Overall, I think this would be a fine comapmy to work with, if you have the money. Unfortunately, I did not.
